“Kyra was absolutely wonderful - I could not recommend her more. She provided detailed daily updates, lots of cute pics, and really bonded with my shy cat. She is truly the best!”

“Raul did an excellent job pet sitting for Gunner. He made sure to follow instructions my husband and I gave him, which gave us a peace of mind. When something wasn’t completely clear, he checked in with me, I really appreciated that level of communication and care. It’s safe to say he’s doing a great job getting to know both us and Gunner, and we feel comfortable trusting him with our dog. Highly recommend!”

“I had Xiaoying feed my 2 year old cat Mo for several days while I was on vacation and she was incredible! She went above and beyond, checking and cleaning her litter box, bringing toys, and spending lots of quality time with her. Her reports were always incredibly detailed and included lots of pictures. She was quick to respond and made the whole booking process super easy. I can't recommend her enough!”

I’m currently working from home which means I’ll have plenty of time to play with your beloved furry friends! I also have two sisters at home who are just as experienced as I am! ( Your furry friends will never be home alone!) If I’m not free my sisters will be free, there will always be someone at home! I have a very playful toy Aussie named Riley and she’ll happily keep your furry friends company. I have plenty of toys and treats to offer too ( Riley loves sharing!) There is plenty of space for your furry friends to run around / chill.
About: I've had cats and dogs all my life. My family adores animals, and your pet will receive lots of love and attention from our household (my husband and I as well as our two college aged children). We recently lost our dog of 12 years and are looking to fill that hole with the time spent with your fur baby. I have a private fenced yard and there is a park on the corner of my home. I will manage all your pet's needs. I work part time 5 minutes from home. There will be at least 3 walks a day and lots of attention. FYI there is usually a family member home at all times. Pets are allowed on furniture. I will follow your regimen and provide videos and photos of your pet. I only want to service one to two pets at a time. There are no young children in our home.
“Laura is so kind to my pets, and they took to her right away! She always remembers their preferences, and clearly puts them at ease. She obviously loves animals—we’re very glad we found her!”

“Vanessa took great care of our cat Teddy while we were away. We appreciated her questions in our meet and greet and her attention to detail in his care. Teddy misses her already!”

With an extroverted, kind, and trustworthy personality, I build great connections with both pets and their owners. Some of my skills are: * Daily feeding & maintaining routines * Walking & exercise for active care * Attentive supervision & affection I'm currently working part time since I'm in college my free days are monday and friday all day so I can properly take care of your pet. I live in a cozy basement apartment with direct access to a fenced backyard, perfect for safe play and exercise. Pets in my care enjoy supervised outdoor time, comfort indoors, and lots of affection. Whether at my home or a client’s, I’m careful, attentive, and committed to keeping pets happy and secure.

“My 15 year old diabetic cat recently entered DKA and underwent very intense and very costly treatment that required serious recovery and supervision. I took off a few weeks of work but due to the added costs I needed to return back to work in order to continue caring for her and treatments. I was of course naturally worried leaving her after having survived such a serious illness and Katie stepped in a really helped put all that anxiety and worry at ease for me. I truly feel like she made all my worries go away upon returning to works All her visits were well documented (she sent me lots of pictures and videos of play time sessions, medicines given, the food and water put out, and she always stayed for longer than booked for and I never came home to a mess. It was evident to me that she was treating my babies like they were her own. From phone calls to texts to in App updates Katie is truly a delight to work with and I can’t recommend her services enough to anyone looking for their pets to receive the same level of love and care that mine got from Katie. I work long hours in film and my old lady will need continued care so definitely plan to keep booking her as much as possible. For those who view their pets as children; Katie’s the one for you.”

“Kathryn took great care of our two kitties while we were out of town. She was quick with all communications and made sure to check all of our kitties' hiding places to send a photo!”

About: Hi, my name is Erik! I have worked for local businesses (As well as Wag so I have a bit of app experience too) walking, training, boarding, and sitting dogs for a little over 7 years now. I love animals, being outside, and meeting new pups. Located in Bushwick, I'm a quick bike ride away from Williamsburg, Bed Stuy, Ridgewood, etc. I have no problem taking the train to further neighborhoods as well. I've lived in New York for a 11 years now so navigating around the city is no issue. I was raised in a animal loving house and couldn't be happier working with the them. I'm a jack of all trades and a big worker. I love the freedom of setting my own schedule and being outside getting my steps in. I get down to their level and let them inspect/smell me. I tend to pass the sniff test. I don't mind taking the time to wait until the pup is comfortable before going on our walk.

“Eleni was WONDERFUL with my 2 cats!!! I will definitely be hiring her again!!! Mochi has diabetes and requires an insulin injection every 12 hours in addition to another medication twice a week and Eleni was happy to learn and able to give Mochi his meds which can be a bit daunting and sometimes difficult depending on his mood. but Eleni was attentive and really took the time to learn and care for him properly! my other cat Kumo is a scaredy baby and rarely shows his face around people but Eleni was patient and really put effort into getting him comfortable with her. Eleni updated me with great details about how they’re doing and food. the weather was changing every day from being very cold and then very hot and Eleni proactively adjusted the thermostat accordingly when needed! she would turn on cat TV every couple days AND put treats in their treat games daily so they would stay occupied during the day. Mochi had an accident and Eleni didn't hesitate to clean it up and take out the trash. she really took care of everything!”

“Thank you Qilin! Every visit Qilin provides Blaze & Starlette with amazing gracious loving care and kindness. She is a phenomenal pet sitter whom I trust will treat my cats as well as I do. I, Blaze & Starlette cannot ask for a better person and professional. God Bless you Qilin.”

About: What sets me apart is the level of care and intuition I bring to every animal I work with. I’m not just a sitter—I genuinely understand dogs on a deeper level. I’ve helped deliver puppies, cared for senior dogs with patience and attention to their changing needs, and I have hands-on experience rehabilitating abused and neglected animals. That means I’m calm, observant, and able to read behavior quickly—whether it’s a nervous rescue or an energetic puppy still learning boundaries. I’m especially comfortable with puppies (potty training, basic commands, structure) and senior dogs who need a slower pace, medication, or extra comfort. I also naturally go above and beyond—whether that’s making sure routines are followed closely, giving extra affection, or keeping a close eye on subtle changes in behavior or health. Outside of sitting, caring for animals is just part of who I am. I regularly feed and look out for stray animals, and I treat every dog like they’re my own. Your pet won’t just be watched—they’ll be understood, protected, and genuinely cared for. As an only child, I’ve always found a deep sense of comfort and connection in caring for dogs. Being able to meet their needs, earn their trust, and give them love brings me a genuine sense of purpose and fulfillment. It’s something that feels natural to me, and it’s a big part of why I’m so dedicated to the care I provide. I have a large, fully fenced yard with low grass, which creates a safe and comfortable space for dogs to walk, play, run, and enjoy plenty of outdoor time.
About: I’m a dedicated animal lover with hands-on experience working at a dog daycare, caring for my own pets, and rescuing animals in need. I’ve worked with a variety of animals and love getting to know each of their unique personalities. I’m attentive, patient, and playful, and I always take the time to make pets feel comfortable, safe, and genuinely cared for. Whether it’s active play, a calm walk, or just keeping them company, I treat every animal like they’re my own. Caring for animals is part of my everyday life, from daily walks and feeding to making time for play and attention. I naturally build my routine around pets’ needs, so they always receive consistent, reliable care. I care for pets in both my home and my clients’ homes by keeping their routines consistent, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions. I offer boarding, drop-ins, and walks, and I’m comfortable caring for multiple pets as long as they’re a good match. I focus on creating a safe, calm, and attentive environment, and I always send photo and video updates so you can feel confident your pet is happy and well cared for.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Middle Village
This was my first time hiring a pet sitter and using Rover. Misty made everything easy. My cats are covid kitties and don’t get visitors often, so when they do they often hide. When Misty made the first day visit at first they were suspicious but they actually came out to her. I appreciate that she sat with them while they ate and played with them. She truly is a cat whisperer! I would not hesitate to book her again. Thank you Misty for making this such a sorry free experience!

Erik was absolutely fantastic. He was incredibly responsive, communicative, kind, and friendly from start to finish. My dog is very shy and usually takes a long time to warm up to new people, but he opened up to Erik almost immediately, which says a lot. Erik also accepted a last-minute booking during an insane heat wave and still showed up in 90-degree weather without hesitation. I truly appreciated his reliability and care. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter. I wouldn’t hesitate to book him again

Nikki is a wonderful cat sitter! She went above and beyond during her check-ins with my cat Lychee, staying long, following my instructions to a tee, and taking dozens of cute photos of Lychee to show she was doing well and eating her meals. She even brought her own laser pointer to entice Lychee, who warmed up and played with her immediately (now I need to get Lychee one). Would definitely book her again, you can tell she’s a real pro!

Rosandy and Edward treats Blaze, Starlette, and myself like family, and the feelings are reciprocal. I am set in my flight attendant career, and I hope that I will always have Rosandy and Edward as pet caretakers. We are absolutely grateful to have them in our lives, especially for the love and care they give. Thank you for always going above and beyond for us.

Sarah was awesome with my cat! She was the first catsitter I’ve had that’s been on time for every drop in, which gave me incredible peace of mind while I was away. Instead of sending me 15 blurry photos of my cat each day, she sent me 3-4 adorable ones— they were some of the best pictures ever taken on her! My cat was well taken care of and happy when I returned. I will definitely use Sarah again in the future.

Esther was great with communication and taking care of our puppy Chutney! She was very thoughtful and attentive to our home and baby. Chutney can be a little shy at first until he opens up and Esther was so considerate giving him his space and waiting until he was comfortable to play with her. We will absolutely book with Esther again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
