Hi! We’re Genevieve (pink) and Kate (blue), and we really love cats: owning cats, learning about cats, and taking care of other people’s cats! We're based in Bushwick and aim to provide cat-focused care in a dog-focused world. We have experience caring for unsocialized cats and kittens, blind/low-vision cats, cats with behavioral issues, experience with dietary restrictions, litter issues, injuries, medication administration, and even seizures in cats. We both have over a decade of pet-care experience, and Genevieve has experience with trapping/TNR and socialization, so we’ll always meet your cat at their level. We understand how difficult it is to be apart from your pets, and we hope to make your time apart as easy as possible, whether that’s by providing your cat’s favorite litter or making sure to scratch under their chin. We also provide access to a live camera feed through an app so you’re able to see (and talk to) your pets whenever you want, in addition to any adorable photos we send!

Schedule
Kate works three shifts weekly, and Genevieve is home full-time. We prioritize our own cats when planning our lives, and our cats are allowed on all furniture (except the fridge, much to their chagrin). Since someone is always home, our cats have a fairly in-depth feeding schedule, so we promise no request about your cat’s daily routine is too big (or too small)! Kate works night-shifts at a hospital, and we’re used to operating on a strange schedule, so for drop-in visits we’re available anytime, day or night, and for house-sitting our availability just depends on boarding and work schedule!

Safety, trust & environment
For your cats’ visits to our home, our CatBnB offers a private 1-room, 1-litterbox cozy and colorful stay in central Bushwick. We provide plenty of comfortable hidey spots for your cats’ enjoyment, and everything in the room has been “crash tested” by our own crazy and curious cats. Your cat can enjoy up-high-time in our (doubly secured) tree or cardboard-box-time under the desk, the possibilities are more than two! We even provide a full shelf of soft toys, in case your cat likes to hunt like our Cataract does! As we said, we have a camera for visual access to the room at any time, and we also spend most of our time at home within a few feet of the door to the guest-cat room. The door to the room is a French door (sealed off at the bottom), which can be curtained off to provide your cat with privacy, or, if you’d prefer, we can leave the curtain open (for all or some of the day), providing your cats with visual access to us and our cats and vice versa. The room has a stainless steel water fountain, a high-sided stainless steel litterbox (we use an unscented tofu litter, and we’re happy to use our own or change to whatever litter your cat prefers), multiple cat trees, manual and electronic toys, a large window, and a soft pink couch. We can either use your dishes or provide our own, and we’re happy to pick up food, treats, or litter (for an additional fee). We want to make your time apart from your cats as easy as possible! For visits at your own home, our goal is to do our best to take care of your pets the way you would. We’ll aim to maintain your pets’ schedules, get to know them, and honor any idiosyncrasies your pet may have. For any kind of care, we aim to take care of your pets the way we would want someone to take care of Bisque, Wax, Wane, Cataract, and Ganache. Please reach out with any questions!
