Experience with special needs
Hello! I have experience with special needs and injured animals via fostering. They require a level of patience that I enjoy practicing. I love seeing them slowly improve in whatever it is that ails them. I also of course love all animals! My most recent foster was a blind kitten. I made sure he knew where everything was and to speak to him constantly. It was such a joy helping him learn how to jump down from the couch. Eventually he started jumping up on places he wasn’t even supposed to be! Now he plays as if he isn’t blind and it’s so beautiful to know that he will have a fulfilling life.
Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
I make sure to start off with some introductions. Whether it be lots of pets and scratches or a more gentle trust building approach. For cats I like to play with them or let them do their thing. Once they get comfortable I give them lots of pets! For dogs we hang out for a little. Then I like to take them on a walk and see the sites!
Ratings and reviews
Rachel was great - very friendly, responsible, and had good calm energy for our puppy. Our pup can require a lot of supervision as he is still in the chewing phase and Rachel took good care of him!

Rachel has taken care of my baby while I was out of town, and did a fantastic job. She followed all my directions and even took videos of him to send me so I wouldn't miss him too much. He also loves Rachel a ton. I always call Rachel when I need someone responsible and caring:)
Rachel Katz had Hero the kitten for several weeks and demonstrated a lot of care and a great commitment for taking care of him, especially considering he has special needs as a blind cat. Rachel watched Hero closely whenever she was at home, providing him with everything he needs (food, water, littler, toys, etc.) and playing with him regularly. Rachel reached out to me whenever she had questions or concerns about caring for Hero, which showed me how important it was for her to make sure Hero was happy and healthy. I think Rachel would make a great pet caretaker and I would trust her with my cats anytime!
Rachel is a very trustworthy and caring pet owner. She has taken care of foster dogs and cats with disabilities and sensitive issues and treated them with love and attention at all times. She would be an outstanding dog sitter and walker that anyone would be lucky to have.
