“Peggy is very nice and responsive. She took good care of my dog during drop-in visits. She sent me many pictures of my dog and gave me some details how my dog was doing while we were out of town. I’m satisfied with her service and I would like to highly recommend her to anyone who are looking for a dog walker/drop-in visits and so on.”

“Kathryn took great care of our two kitties while we were out of town. She was quick with all communications and made sure to check all of our kitties' hiding places to send a photo!”

“Charlie has been amazing with my dog Oliver. He walks him during the day and is always reliable, attentive, and caring. I can tell Oliver genuinely enjoys his time with him, which gives me peace of mind while I’m busy. It’s not easy trusting someone with your dog, but Charlie makes it effortless. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dependable and kind dog walker.”

God Bless you Qilin.”

“I’ve been using Melanie’s services for the past few times we’ve been traveling out of town, the longest being 10 days out of town! She is so attentive and responsive and I trust my baby Nuni with her. Having her has been a lifesaver and I recommend her for any of your pet sitting needs! <3333”

About: I’ve always enjoyed being around dogs because every one of them has a different personality. Some want to run around and investigate every smell in the neighborhood, while others are happiest taking their time and enjoying the walk. I’m dependable, patient, and pay attention to details. If you leave instructions, I’ll follow them. If your dog has a routine, I’ll respect it. And if they have a favorite route, toy, or weird habit, I’ll probably notice that too. Friends and family would describe me as observant and easygoing. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and getting to know what makes each dog unique. My goal is simple: make sure your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for while giving you peace of mind. Whether that’s a quick walk, playtime, or just some extra company during the day, I’m happy to help. Pet care fits naturally into my schedule right now, which gives me flexibility for walks, drop-in visits, and checkins throughout the week. I’m reliable, punctual, and make it a priority to show up when I say I will. I understand that pets thrive on consistency, so I do my best to keep their routines as normal as possible. Whether your pet needs exercise, playtime, feeding, or simply some company during the day, I’m happy to help. I believe good pet care starts with trust, communication, and attention to detail. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any specific instructions so they can feel comfortable and secure. When caring for pets in their home, I treat the space with the same respect I would want for my own. I make safety a priority, keep owners updated when needed, and pay close attention to how pets are behaving so I can respond to their individual needs. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel comfortable and confident while you’re away.

“We use Kira all the time for our cat. She's reliable, quick to respond, and sends us lots of photos while we're away. We're starting to fear he might like her more than us now!”

About: Cat dad of over 20 years making sure my pets are happy, healthy, safe and clean. Lover of all animals and so my due diligence to make sure they are happy. Available on weekends and after 5pm on weekdays. I work full time but have a flexible schedule outside of it. Currently do not live with my own pet so my attention will be turned toward your fur baby. I approach animal care very gently, making sure they're comfortable with me. Always bring treats to make that process easier. I make sure they are properly fed, groomed, and area cleaned to make that comfort a priority.

Rest assured, they’ll receive plenty of affection and playtime. I can’t wait to meet your furry companions! I’m currently working from home which means I’ll have plenty of time to play with your beloved furry friends! I also have two sisters at home who are just as experienced as I am! ( Your furry friends will never be home alone!) If I’m not free my sisters will be free, there will always be someone at home! I have a very playful toy Aussie named Riley and she’ll happily keep your furry friends company. I have plenty of toys and treats to offer too ( Riley loves sharing!) There is plenty of space for your furry friends to run around / chill.
“Xiaoying is literally the best person for the job. She went up and above with caring for our 3 kitties. It was our first trip away and for a 2 week period so we were very nervous about leaving them alone. We have a 17yr old male senior cat with specific dietary needs and two 4 yr old male and female cats who need lots of play and attention. We booked her for the morning and evening and she played with them, fed them and cleaned their litter boxes. Our lil Luna is very wary of strangers but she loved Xiaoying and even gave her head bumps. We received detailed reports and so many pictures which we loved! The best sitter!!!”

“Highly recommend Kristin! She took amazing care of my cats and followed all instructions perfectly. She is communicative, sent great photos, and handled extra requests like mail and cleaning with ease. My cats were happy and safe under her care. I will definitely be booking her again in the future!”

“Vanessa took great care of our cat Teddy while we were away. We appreciated her questions in our meet and greet and her attention to detail in his care. Teddy misses her already!”

“Great with guinea pigs! I recently had Catalina do some drop-in visits to check on my guinea pig, and she was fantastic. Guinea pigs are very social animals, so usually when I leave mine alone for very long he's quite grouchy and cold afterward. With Catalina, though, he was super friendly and happy when I came home. She definitely took the time to play with him and talk with him, and I really appreciate it! ”
About: Hi! My name is Lauren, and I have over seven years of experience in dog sitting/walking. I previously worked at an independent dog walking company before transitioning to a remote writing position. Additionally, when I was in high school, I walked and pet-sat dogs in my neighborhood. I also used to care for my own pup who has since crossed the rainbow bridge <3. Let me know if you would like to set up an interview, and I look forward to hearing all about you and your pet :) I'm a freelancer, which means I'm readily available to look after your pet! They'll get lots of attention, walks, playtime, and, most importantly, love :) I always ensure that your pet is in a safe and fun environment. If you're away, I will keep you updated every day on how your furry family member is doing.
“Thoselin took great care of my 2 boys while I was away. She took a lot of photos and made sure my cats have enough food and water. Litter box was also routinely cleaned and filled. I will definitely book her again the near future.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Rego Park
Melanie is always so great with our boys! They truly love her, she is always responsive and provides the best updates. Mumu is our sick boy and she makes sure he receives his meds timely and with ease. We’re truly grateful that she can care for them while we’re away.

Rosandy and Edward are excellent caretakers of Blaze and Starlette. I exclusively use the couple for my bookings. Being away from home for work a couple of days at a time is no longer stressful as a pet parent. I am truly thankful for Rosandy and Edward, God has blessed me by having them in my life.

Emily is just the best. She knows how to approach cats and wins them over within seconds. She played with our two, which they adored, and kept us completely up to date with her visits and how they were going. I’m really looking forward to hiring her again to look after my dog. Good people you can trust with your pets are hard to find - Emily is most definitely one of them, and I highly recommend her.

Katie was so fantastic! She took such good care of our cats, super knowledgable about cats as well. Katie is very friendly and resourceful. She took so many great pictures and was very communicative in the notes, very detailed! She really knows how to capture their experience while we’re away. I would 100% love to work with Katie again, we felt very at ease leaving the cats under her care. She’s the best! 10/10 A+++

This was my first time hiring a pet sitter and using Rover. Misty made everything easy. My cats are covid kitties and don’t get visitors often, so when they do they often hide. When Misty made the first day visit at first they were suspicious but they actually came out to her. I appreciate that she sat with them while they ate and played with them. She truly is a cat whisperer! I would not hesitate to book her again. Thank you Misty for making this such a sorry free experience!

Bianca was amazing! She took great care of our cat while we were on vacation. She came as early & late as we needed with no problem. She sent pictures & updates every day and that really put our mind at ease. We knew he was being well cared for. We will definitely use her in the future!!!
Jamile was wonderful to work with and she went above and beyond in taking care of our cats! She was highly communicative, shared detailed updates and photos, and the cats got along really well with her, despite them usually being distant towards new people. I felt comforted that she was taking care of them while we were out of town. Highly recommend her services and we’ll definitely be working with her again in the future.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rego Park. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
