“I am so thankful Charlie was available for a last minute booking/ boarding for our dog, Bibi. After communicating our needs, we knew Charlie was a great fit. Our dog felt right at home, and Charlie communicated frequently throughout her time there, including sending picture and video updates unprompted. We would love the opportunity to re-book with Charlie in the future.”

“AMAZING! Anthony and Sofiya were amazing with my pet Avi! They sent me so many pictures and even let me FaceTime, which made me feel so comfortable while I was away. Anthony was super quick to respond to any questions, and Sofiya is incredibly sweet and kind. Together they were the perfect balance for Avi’s care. I felt completely at ease and will definitely be booking with them again. Thank you so much, Anthony and Sofiya!”

“Tiffany and Joel were amazing through all of Lily’s stay! They provided consistent updates with pictures and videos and always responded immediately if I reached out. They were also boarding another dog at the time that Lily adored! I loved that she could be social there! They were very accommodating to switch from drop-off to a late pick-up when I had an unexpected flight delay. I felt comfortable and at ease with Lily at Tiffany and Joel’s! I will definitely rebook in the future!”

“The very very BEST! Meilin was so helpful for us when we got stuck abroad during a snowstorm and kept our pup calm and snuggly for several extra days. A true life saver!”

“Sam was amazing! We had never left Penelope with any sitter and Sam made us feel very comfortable and confident. She sent us pictures as well which made us feel at ease. We definitely plan to have Penelope stay with Sam again in the future. Thank you, Sam!”

“Maria is amazing! She communicated and provided pictures. She never made me feel like a bother no matter how many times I reached out. Will definitely book her again”

“Peggy and Anthony were wonderful! They were very quick to respond and always provided updates on Indie. They were also very accommodating. I couldn’t drop off, but they were willing to come pick up at my house without issue. Was away on a long trip, but never at any point was I worried about how Indie was doing because I knew she was in good care. Would definitely re-book again in the future!”

“Jennifer and her family made Frost feel at home while we were away for the holidays. She provided pictures, updates, and feedback. I will definitely keep Jennifer and her family in mind for future bookings!”

“Jonalynn was awesome and came in clutch for a last minute booking with my Bully/Pit mix. She was awesome. My dog Bleu loved his stay and has been sad since leaving her.”

“John is great with my tiny poodle! My girl Eva has anxiety and I know she must be crying for me pretty badly at first.. since she annoys my own family when I leave. When she comes back home after a stay at John’s she is literally so much more relaxed 😌 He communicates with a daily update that brightens our day. Thank you John for the care!”

“Ryozo was great. Jodi was excited to come home but I know he would’ve been perfectly fine where he was . Very communicative, sends photos and took very good care of our dog . I would say he was very happy spending his time with Ryozo. Will be booking again and again . Thank you !”

“I really appreciated how communicative Lal was. She sent lots of photos and videos and it felt very reassuring. Lal is very kind and I know she put in great effort to make Jaz comfortable.”

“Ashley was so amazing - she went above and beyond to make sure my dogs were cared for (especially when my little pup was having stomach issues unexpectedly). Nothing phased her and she was super communicative along the way. Can’t recommend her enough. Trust her 100%!”

“Haizel has so much fun when she goes there. She enjoys playing with his dog. He sends updates so we know she is foing well. He is really good with dogs!”

“We felt wonderfully at peace knowing that our puppy Bernie was being given lots of play time and affection! She was very timely in her responses and gave lovely updates. I would recommend Jeannie for anyone looking for a sitter.”

“Ana stayed with our pup for 4 days and 4 nights. We were a little nervous as it was our first time leaving her for so long, but she was incredible at putting us at ease and sending us constant updates and pictures throughout the day. She made our girl feel right at home and kept her on a schedule. She was super loving. We will definitely be booking Ana again. Iggy was loved and well taken care of.”

“Adam was great with my cat, Griffin. It was obvious my cat was very happy and well taken care of. I wish that I knew Adam booked multiple animals - both dogs and cats - in his home at a time. That said, the dog he owns, Hermes, is awesome and super friendly; Griffin and Hermes were immediately friends. Adam was also very responsive. Will definitely book with Adam again!”

“Judith is one of the most reliable sitter i have met. My baby Ace was safe, comfortable, and well cared for while i was away. I really enjoyed the consistency and reliability in communication along with the daily updates/videos. I am in awe! I really can’t say enough about how great Judith and her family was to Ace. This was my first time leaving Ace alone and i was hesitant, but her warmth and love of animals was apparent from our first meet. Phenomenal job taking care of Ace Judith 🤎🐩🙏🏾 I will absolutel be booking again!!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rego Park
I’ve never felt like my cat was more safe or cared for than with Dey. Not only did Dey make my cat Thea feel so safe and comfortable, she also shared her experience and knowledge of cats with me regarding her nutrition and care. After leaving Dey, Thea will be a happier cat and I will be a more knowledgeable caretaker of her! I hope to ask Dey for sitting anytime I am gone in the future. She sent so many pics and videos!! I am so grateful.

Juliana was my very first pet sitter for my dog. I was so nervous about the experience and from the very start she put us at ease. She had everything we needed (especially for a big dog) that made our trip away for the weekend stress free. She set-up an early meet and greet, sent daily pictures and updates, had space for a big dog to roam, a big crate to accommodate his stay, and a seamless drop off and pick up process. I will definitely book with Juliana again!

I booked Henly last minute for boarding and was reliable from the very start of communication. She communicates so well and has a very welcoming personality that makes you feel like your furry one will be in great hands. Throughout his stay, she made Leo feel so loved, and allowed him to explore different park and animal friendly areas. She provided updates, lots of amazing, cutesy photos and notified us of any places she was taking him which we really appreciate. We are so thankful for her care, and will keep her in mind for future care if needed.

Brea was amazing with my (geriatric) puppy! I have a 16 year old chihuahua recovering from some medical issues and Brea took wonderful care of him. She gave me regular, detailed updates and photos. I was nervous being away from him after his illness and Brea put my mind at ease. She has my highest recommendation!
This was my first time using Rover and I absolutely loved it. Denis B was so kind and very attentive to my Milo, I received daily photos and updates while I was away. It warmed my heart to know someone else will be so loving towards my cat. I highly recommend using Rover. Definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to Denis B. Thank you again.

Magdalena was great! Would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to have pets loved and cared for while you’re away. Her gentle demeanor immediately put my dog at ease and set such a peaceful, loving tone. It was obvious that she took the time to learn my dog’s personality and what would make her most comfortable. She was extremely accomodating and responsive, and sent updates and photos multiple times a day. Could not have asked for a better experience!!

This was my first time having Lulu stay for two weeks and with Gaby. I had read all the great reviews and scheduled a meet and greet prior to. I’m glad we booked with Gaby and her husband. She’s such a sweetheart with pets and caring to their personalities. I could tell Lulu was taken care of and made new friends along the way 💕.

I can’t recommend Gustavo enough! He took such amazing care of my dog and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It was clear from the updates and photos that my dog was loved, happy, and treated like part of their family. He went above and beyond to make sure my dog was comfortable and well cared for. Knowing my dog was in such caring hands made all the difference. I’m so grateful for his kindness, professionalism, and genuine love for animals. I will definitely be booking with him again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
