“I am so thankful Charlie was available for a last minute booking/ boarding for our dog, Bibi. After communicating our needs, we knew Charlie was a great fit. Our dog felt right at home, and Charlie communicated frequently throughout her time there, including sending picture and video updates unprompted. We would love the opportunity to re-book with Charlie in the future.”

“I highly recommend Tate. Tate was absolutely lovely. She was so sweet and kind . She definitely has a way with animals. Maddie loved her and was very comfortable with her. Maddie adapted well and fast. I was at ease because this was the first time we left Madison with someone outside of our family circle. I feel that I can go away and feel at ease because I found an awesome sitter. 🐾😊”

“We just had Amy watch Nala for the second time. It’s such a relief not having to worry about the leaving Nala with Amy. We already knew Nala was in the best possible hands. Amy is consistently professional, communicative, and so clearly loves what she does”

“LOVED PAMELA!!!! I had a trip scheduled to Texas for my nephew’s 2nd birthday party. I was extremely nervous to book a sitter on Rover because it was my first time leaving my 2 girls. However, once I met Pamela for the Meet and Greet, my 2 fur babies were instantly connected with Pamela! While I was in Texas, she sent me photos throughout my entire trip. My girls were literally glued to Pamela, that’s how much they loved her! Pamela’s kind and warm personality makes booking your pups stressed-free. She’s amazing and I can’t wait to book again!”

“Judith is amazing. From the first hour I left my baby with Judith and her husband I was updated multiple pics each day that sheena was with them. I love how Judith and her Husband came to greet me, this made me comfortable in knowing whom would be around my dog. They actually Made my baby sad to come home so I know she had a good time, in two weeks I’ll be booking again. Thanks guys!!”

“Kristin is amazing and so accommodating! I’m so appreciative of her for making my kitty feel so comfortable and loved while I was away. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a safe and loving home for their pets.”

“We had a great experience with Jun while we were away for 12 days! Leaving our two baby cats, Milo and Mimi, somewhere new made me really nervous at first, but Jun was so reassuring, communicative, and kind throughout the entire stay. He sent videos and updates every day, which really helped ease my mind and allowed me to see how comfortable and cared for they were. It was clear he genuinely cared about them and treated them very well. I’m so grateful for the attention and care he gave our cats and would absolutely recommend Jun to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

“Dominique is wonderful, kind, communicative, super responsive, and a joy to work with. We have a nervous, 95 lb pup and I’m a nervous dog mom - Dominique took so much time to make us both feel comfortable for Saint’s first boarding - sending tons of pictures and always staying in touch. Dominique also walks Saint once a week (so we could make sure our nervous pup was prepared for this boarding) and Saint absolutely adores them. Saint almost never gets excited to see “strangers”, but when Dominique comes to pick her up, Saint thinks she’s hanging out with her best friends. There’s days Saint knows Dominique will be coming for her walk, and she’ll sit by the door waiting, given how Saint is super shy, seeing her look forward to a friend coming over like this makes me so happy. Dominique knows dogs, with a background in dog training, they knew exactly how to make Saint feel comfortable in no time at all (Dominique was “friends” with Saint within five minutes of her first walk!!). We would recommend Dominique without hesitation to anyone in the area.”

“Iwona was wonderful for the moment I messaged her. She was very communicative and understanding on all the directions I gave her. My dog needed medication and some special needs and Iwona took care of everything with no problem. I look forward to booking with her again, as I know everything will be so seamless and I’m now very trusting of her. Thanks again!”

“Lisa was simply amazing. Our very shy girl Remy who is scared of most people was comfortable with Lisa and even took treats from her. She was very professional and reliable. Highly recommend and will definitely bring my baby back to her. Thank you Lisa for the consistent updates and putting my mind at ease.”

Kevin and Chie were EXCELLENT! They cared for and treated my sweet Teddy sooooo amazing. I was updated throughout the days with lots of pictures and videos. Teddy was smiling the whole stay! Chie kept Teddy with her at all times. I will be rebooking FOR SURE next time. They are great and caring + very responsible! Thank you so much again!

We cannot recommend Julian enough she watched Oliver for 5 dyas and went above and beyond. I received wonderful daily pictures and videos updates and Oliver looked so happy and relaxed. Julian followed all feeding instructions precisely. I will definitely book with her again.

Margarita and Cristian are truly the best!! My goldendoodle, Cooper, loves his stay with them. He comes back home happy after his stay and you can tell he is truly loved by Margarita and Cristian. Margarita is very accommodating to a few emergencies that have popped up for me and is willing to work with you to give your pet the best accommodation. She also provides updates on your pet and provides pictures. I highly recommend booking Margarita and Cristian as your pets sitter!! You won’t regret it!

Charlie took great care of Wolly-Buddy. Since it was a new environment, I was a little concerned about how he would adjust, but Charlie’s daily updates and pictures reassured me. He was also very responsive whenever I checked in. Buddy seemed happy and comfortable when I picked him up, and I would recommend Charlie without hesitation.
I wish I could add on more stars! Mei is the absolute best, this was our Nina’s first boarding since we adopted her and she was so lucky to be staying with Mei and also two other little clients bobo and hamburger! She had the best week i’m sure! Mei always updated me throughout the day, sent pictures and videos and informed me on nina’s food and treat intake and was always so responsive and kind! Since it was also my frist time leaving Nina with someone else I felt very grateful and comfortable with Mei’s updates! Super friendly house and amazing care, we will definitely be booking with Mei again! 10/10 recommend!!!! 💗🐾

Mahfuza was very attentive to my cat, Juno, and communicative to me throughout Juno’s stay. The extra room had plenty of toys, a cat tree, beds, and its own window AC unit. I was sent many videos during my trip of Juno purring and having a good time. Would definitely recommend Mahfuza as a cat sitter!

Peggy and Anthony were awesome! Despite having a big dog that can be intimidating to many, they welcomed him with open arms and took very good care of our baby! They were awesome and asked all the right questions. Their excitement to have him, made it easier to feel comfortable leaving him with them.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
