“Lal was great! Very communicative and Joey had a great time w Hank and her cat. Sent lots of updates and made us feel very comfortable during Joey's stay.”

“Angela is great! She kept me updated every day with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. I always get a little nervous leaving Lizzie with a sitter because she can be anxious around new people and places. But after four days with Angela, Lizzie was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. When I picked her up, she even tried to follow Angela back into her building! I would absolutely trust Angela with Lizzie again and highly recommend her.”

“Krystal took wonderful care of our dog, Joules, while we were away for two weeks. We were initially nervous about leaving our older dog for that long, but Krystal made the experience completely stress-free. She kept us updated regularly, gave Joules plenty of attention and long walks, and clearly cared about his well-being. We came home to a happy dog and couldn't be more pleased. We highly recommend Krystal!”

“I’ve been using Iliana for the past several trips for my baby Malcolm, she is phenomenal and I can tell how much she cares for him like he’s her own baby! I feel so confident leaving him with her”

“Qin En took good care of my cat Echo while I was out of town. She sent me multiple pictures/videos a day so I can enjoy my vacation while making sure my cat is doing well. She genuinely loves cats and actually any animals! 😂 highly recommend 😊”

“I’m a kind of crazy pet parent with a 10 page dogsitting guide. Kiersten read the whole thing, remembered every detail, texted to make sure of things… She was amazing. Highly, highly recommended!”

“Ryan was the best. He was flexible and took care of my girl like his own. He took her out for walks and sent updates and photos. I felt safe leaving her with Ryan. Will definitely book him again!”

“Christian took great care of my dog Lolli, a nervous and unruly chihuahua who needs a lot of attention. He had just the right vibe in relating to her. I know this because she was calm and happy when I picked her up. I would definitely ask Christian to board her again. Thank you Christian!”

“This is the second time we leave our cat Luna to Sherry and Walter and as always they took such good care of her , provided frequent updates and made amazing studio level photos We will definitely have them babysit Luna again soon Thanks again”

“Had a fantastic experience leaving our dog with Anastasia for a week. She communicated with us through their time together and also took some of the cutest photos of our dog! There wasn’t a thing we’d ask Anastasia to change and we’ll certainly use her again for our next trip!”

“This was Brownie’s first long term stay away from us as we went on vacation. Millie kept us in the loop every day and sent us pics letting us know how he was doing. He did great and I was so relieved knowing he was in good hands. Thanks Millie!!”

“We had an amazing experience leaving our puppy with Thoselin. She used to send me daily updates during her long term stay. In addition, she followed a very good schedule and genuinely cared about her. Our puppy had a really great time with her and came back calm and happy.”

“Angelique was a lifesaver. She took care of our sweet boy while we were away for the weekend. She was so attentive and communicative when he had unexpected stomach issues and made sure our boy was well taken care of. Truly appreciate her and could not recommend more highly!”

“Emily was great with Bravo, lots of pictures keeping us updated on what she was doing. After we got home Bravo was out like a light after multiple walks and trips to the dog park.”

“Eleanor was amazing! She treated Mango like her own and was incredibly easy to communicate with. He had a wonderful stay at her apartment. Would absolutely recommend.”

“Wes is just awesome. He took in my dog, Jack, for 2 weeks while I was abroad. Wes knew I was anxious and it was my first time leaving my baby for that length of time. He was super kind, responsive, and sent me tons of photos and videos. I felt so relieved knowing Jack was having the best time running around, and cuddling (his two favorite activities). Wes was even understanding when my flight was delayed because of the IT outage, and I had to pick up Jack late. Thank you so much! Highly recommend Wes!”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t say enough good things about our dog sitter. She watched my dog for a full week and took excellent care of him. My dog is elderly and has a luxating patella in his back knee, and she was very attentive to his needs and limitations. She handled him carefully, made sure he was comfortable, and truly paid attention to his health. She kept us updated throughout the entire stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. When we picked him up, he was happy, calm, and clearly very well taken care of. On top of that, she even washed him the day before pickup, so he came home freshly cleaned, which was such a thoughtful touch. You can tell she genuinely cares about animals. I would 100% trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible, loving dog sitter.”

Ryozo took a great care of our pup! He was very responsive and always answered all of our questions. Frankie the pup is still very anxious creature and Ryozo kindly accomodated his needs, eg walks at night in quiet neighborhoods or emergency pumkin puree purchases where Frankie was too shy to soiminate waste. Thank you Ryozo! We gladly recommend you to any pet parent! :)

Athena was amazing at taking care of my puppy Isobel. She made sure that we were informed that she has been fed, walked and even napped. Sent picture and video updates. Athena also made sure that our puppy Isobel was safe and tucked during the 4th of July fireworks to avoid Isobel being scared. I definitely would recommend Athena's services to any dog parent. Will definitely will be using her services again in the future.

Peggy and Anthony were awesome! Despite having a big dog that can be intimidating to many, they welcomed him with open arms and took very good care of our baby! They were awesome and asked all the right questions. Their excitement to have him, made it easier to feel comfortable leaving him with them.

This was my first time leaving Kali with Brea, and I can confidently say that she will be my first choice moving forward for watching her. Her updates were amazing- morning and evening updates with lots of pictures and videos. I felt so comfortable leaving Kali in her hands because she was so sweet and very attentive to Kali’s needs and any of my concerns. Kali had so much fun staying with her and I will definitely be rebooking!!

Rosie is our 14-year-old dachshund mixed dog with arthritis and separation anxiety, and leaving her for nights at first worried us as we’ve never done boarding before. But Kam gave us total peace of mind. She learned Rosie’s whole feeding and supplement routine thoroughly, and since Rosie eats so little, she even boiled eggs for extra nutrition (she always checks with us first to make sure if Rosie can or can not eat certain things). Worried Rosie would be anxious at night, she slept on the living room floor with her. Every day we got sweet, detailed updates with photos and/or videos. You can tell Kam truly loves animals and cares for every pet like her own. This was the most relaxed we’ve ever felt leaving Rosie. Thank you, Kam.

Margo is absolutely the best! She takes such good care of my cat that’s I’ve booked her on multiple occasions. She’s very attentive to my cats needs and makes sure to keep me well informed while I’m away with lots of pictures and updates. I highly recommend Margo. She makes your fur babies feel right at home.

Jennifer and her family were so kind and went above and beyond for our dog. She kept us updated with photos and tried everything she could to get him to eat when he didn’t want to. He seemed so calm and happy when we picked him up!! We’ll definitely be using her in the future. We could not recommend her enough!!

Margarita and Cristian were fantastic! They took great care of my dog and were attentive throughout the entire stay. They kept me updated, which gave me complete confidence that my dog was in good hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and caring sitters.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
