“Heather is an excellent sitter and a lovey person. She posted me hourly, if not more frequently, and was kind enough to put up with all my “new pawrent” questions and asks. Archimedes had a great time and he definitey enjoyed his stay. I’m grateful to Heather and glad we can continue our business relationship !”

“Linyan is great with communication, keeps me updated with pictures and videos. She took Momo for a nice long walk in the park. My dog had an amazing day with her. She looks so happy after came back home. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!”

“Yirui took such great care of my pup Naomi. Yirui asked detailed questions to ensure that she provided continuity and routine for Naomi, while also giving her a comfortable space to have fun and feel at home. She sent updates and pics throughout the day that made me feel at ease. The best part is that Naomi has made a new friend with Yirui’s pup Julie!”

“Antoinette was amazing! Needed a last minute sitter during the day and she was great, sent updates throughout the day and was easy to work with. Would definitely use again!”

“Mari is sweet, caring, punctual, easy to work with and took incredible care of my pup. There were so many adorable photos of Cordelia throughout the day and best of all was Mari’s reliability and punctuality that made my drop off and pick up a breeze. I could tell my dog was relaxed and happy spending time with her. Highly recommend Mari as human and pup sitter!”

About: ve been caring for animals for as long as I can remember. My first dog — Lucy, a Border Collie I had when I was 11 back in Shanghai, China — was my best friend for 16 years. Alongside her, I cared for a rescued stray cat "Noji" and an adopted poodle "Bebe" when I was 13, which taught me patience, responsibility, policing different pets, and how to understand different pet personalities. After moving to the U.S. for school, I brought home my baby Corgi "Brioche" in 2020. She’s now a 5-year-old certified service dog who’s friendly, well-trained, and walked three times a day for at least 30 minutes each time. I also helped train and kept a baby Devon Rex cat for my family in 2025. What sets me apart is my lifelong, hands-on experience with pets of different breeds, ages, and temperaments — from energetic puppies to senior dogs. I love fur babies more than anything and always prioritize their comfort, safety, and happiness. I will be working part time starting summer 2026 in NYC, so my schedule is flexible, I'm available for daily walks, boarding both weekdays and weekends. I live in a 2 bedroom in FiDi close to battery park city. There are no crates and my corgi was never crate-trained. I don't have indoor pet potty so I almost only take my dog out for potty unless the weather is crazy. I have plenty of dog beds and toys.
“Needed someone last minute and Vera came in clutch! She made sure he was super comfortable at her home & sent me lots of updates! Will definitely book again!”

“Jade did an amazing job with our dog Yoshi! I’m hesitant about leaving our dog with a new person but we were visiting the city and needed daycare, so we did a meet and greet and Jade was very responsible and communicative, making me feel confident that she would make sure our dog felt comfortable in her house. Our dog had a tummy ache and she was diligent about helping him eat in the morning and, took him on several walks.”

“Ellana was amazing. Very responsive and caring. She took the time to understand the delicate situation my dog was in and handled it with such care. She sent me updates throughout the day. Thank you so much!”

“Priscilla took great care of Molly! Super easy to coordinate with, flexible and very responsive. Molly seemed like she had a great time when I picked her up after a full day away. I received several pictures and updates during the day which put my mind at ease. I will definitely ask Priscilla to watch her again!”

Yoon was absolutely wonderful with Emilio! She was kind, attentive, responsible, and very caring throughout the day. She kept me updated and made me feel completely comfortable knowing Emilio was in good hands. I would definitely recommend Yoon to any family looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable sitter. We would be very happy to have her take care of Emilio again! ❤️

Vincent watched our doggie while my family and I did a trip to the Statue of Liberty for a few hours. I appreciated him being able to take our last minute booking request. Xena had a great time and Vincent was super communicative and flexible. Highly recommend!

Our dog Scotch had a very good time with Hahillah! He seemed like he was in high spirits and really enjoyed the company of his dog friends. Hahillah seemed to know a great deal about Dachshund’s behavioural traits and quirks. And I would 100% recommend her and contact her again to take care of Scotch when we visit :)

Viviane is such a sweetheart, both in general and especially with Barry! He was so happy and excited to see her again. He literally walked into her apartment like he lives there, which just shows how comfortable and happy he feels with her. She’s also so easy to communicate with and sends the cutest updates throughout the day. Her apartment is in a super convenient part of town, really close to Grand Central. Barry is definitely happy when they’re together, so we’ll absolutely keep coming back!

Vera was wonderful with our little Shih Tzu! She took him out for walks and gave him a comfortable place to rest, kept us updated with pictures and videos and was very responsive and communicative throughout the booking process and the actual stay. Cannot recommend her highly enough!

Lorna is wonderful. She is communicative, sending photo and video updates throughout the day so I did not have to wonder how my doggie Parsley is doing. What means the most to me is how experienced and thoughtful she is, always taking my girl's timid personality into account and making sure she feels safe and comfortable. It's clear to me that she is someone who cares and understands dogs, not just babysitting them. I feel reassured and relaxed knowing she is in such good hands. I highly recommend her to anyone with a more sensitive doggie who can use extra love and care. Thanks so much Lorna!

I cannot recommend Laura enough! From the moment she met Muppet, I knew she was in great hands. She is incredibly attentive, communicative, and clearly has a natural gift with animals. While I was away, Laura sent me updates and photos that put my mind completely at ease. But the real proof was when I came to pick Muppet, she was absolutely beaming! I have never seen her look so happy and relaxed after a stay. It was obvious she had been spoiled with love, long walks, and plenty of cuddles. If you are looking for someone who will treat your fur baby like family, look no further than Laura. I would definitely be book with her again!

Zaina was so great to Kiwi! She had shared many updates throughout the day, with reports on Kiwi’s food consumption and tons of pictures of him enjoying the day with Zaina. Zaina is an amazing communicator and we really felt at ease knowing that Kiwi was doing well :) Thanks again! Would happy work with you again!~

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your New York commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
