“Mariele was great. This was my first time using Rover and she went out of her way to meet my dog beforehand to make sure he was comfortable with everything! Will definitely use her again!”

“Minako is amazing! She looks after my 4 month Cavapoo and loves her like she was her own. Minako always sends pictures and updates. I’m so grateful that I’m able to leave my puppy home and trust that she is in great hands with Minako coming to take her on walks.”
“Anna is the most attentive, kind and informative dog walker. I would highly recommend her and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. She took amazing care of our puppy and constantly kept me up to date. My puppy was obsessed with her, she’s truly the best!”

“Sophia was amazing with Loxi while I was away. She would come greet her every night and play with her as she got her ready for her walk. My doggie who is normally pretty sad when I am away was playful and happy the whole time in large part due to Sophia!!! :) From the meet and greet to the end of my vacation, Sophia put in so much care, attention and love into caring for my doggy I cannot express how much I appreciate it and and so grateful so her to have been cared for so well while I was away. I would definitely have Sophia walk my doggy again anytime!!”

“Alyssa was a fantastic dog walker and last minute addition to Tucker’s schedule! Reliable, communicative, and easy to work with. I loved all of the pictures and she gave my pup extra love and care! Highly recommend!”

About: I’m a reliable neighborhood dog walker based in FiDi, and I got my start helping neighbors I met through my own dog. I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities - from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a slower pace. I’m especially comfortable with larger breeds and anxious or shy dogs. I treat every dog like my own and will always take the time to build trust, keep them calm, and stick to routines that ensure safety while having the most fun! I work from home and live locally, so I’m conveniently available and flexible throughout the day. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, allowing for consistent attention, playtime, and check-ins. I’m available most weekdays and weekends, with flexibility for drop-ins, boarding, or last-minute requests when needed. I provide a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment where safety comes first. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding, medications, and preferences. In a client’s home, I’m respectful and attentive, keeping things secure and tidy while ensuring pets feel comfortable, supervised, and well cared for at all times.
“Anne was great and super patient with my very nervous and reactive dog. She shared lots of updates and was willing to take the time to get him to warm up to her. It's clear she is a pro! Would recommend her to anybody looking for somebody to trust with their pet.”

“Freya is so understanding and patient with our baby, Kuma. He can be stubborn on walks, and 100 pounds of stubborn is not easy. She stayed calm and gentle and made sure he was comfortable. She communicated very well and made me feel that Kuma was safe with her.”

“Valeria was absolutely wonderful to work with! She was super reliable, communicative, and genuinely caring throughout the entire experience. I’m so grateful for all of her help and felt completely comfortable knowing my dog was in great hands. She was attentive, thoughtful, and made everything so easy and stress-free. I would absolutely recommend Valeria to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and dependable to care for their pet. We’ll definitely be reaching out to her again!”

“So happy I found Elizabeth to take my dog out on the week days when I am in the office! She is super nice, punctual, responsive, and great with dogs!! Highly recommend :)”

“Britni is super helpful, responsive, and kind! My dog was shy to warm up to her but she has earned her trust quickly and thoughtfully! We will be definitely rebooking Britni!”

“Raul is the best there is. His organization, proactive communication and warm aura give me confidence my puppy is in great hands. He is thoughtful and sharp, and considers matters related to her comfort and health before they become issues. In advance of my girl’s evening walks, he checks the forecast and communicates inclement weather that may require additional planning; that attention to detail is invaluable. 11/10!! We love him!”

“Eleni has been super responsive and even helped me figure out how to use the app! She’s patient, communicative, and has been so good with my dog Poppy. I look forward to working with her again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - New York
Shriya was delightful! Since I am new to NYC, I was a bit nervous (and so was my pup) to entrust a new person to walk my dog on the busy streets. Shriya quickly made Stitch and me feel at ease, letting me know all of the different ways that she ensures a safe walk and naturally giving off warm and welcoming “I’ve got this” energy. She sent videos, photos, and a detailed update. I definitely will be relying on Shriya!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
