“We recently hired Claudine as our weekly dog walker and were extremely happy with how the first week went. Our dog, Buster, is a recent adoption, and we were unsure how he would take to a new person walking him when we went back to work, but Claudine was great with him. She was patient and understanding, really taking in his needs to ensure that he felt safe and happy. We are delighted to have Claudine as part of our weekly walking routine with Buster and would highly recommend her for anyone looking into this service.”

“Cheryl is the best. She is so great with Louis our dog and is super responsive to requests or changes in her twice weekly walks.Cheryl is always on time and responsible and it is great knowing that our dog is so looked after when we are not at home. I would highly recommend her.”

“Allison was able to help us with our pets last minute when our usual walker had to cancel. She was so friendly and even made the time to stop over the day prior to introduce herself, grab the house key and meet our dog. It’s a bit unsettling handing over your life to someone you just met, but she gained our trust and confidence in just a few minutes. Would highly recommend and will definitely use again. Thank you, Allison!”

“Katie and Zayn were great with Scooby! Scooby tends to be shy with people he first meets but was actually doing zoomies outside at their first meet and greet lol They were responsive and friendly, they sent us updates and pictures of Scooby during every walk! I felt comfortable and assured that Scooby was in good hands. I highly recommend Katie and Zayn!”

She is caring and kind, and really wants to connect with the pet and the pet parent. My dog always comes back from walks with her tired and ready for a long nap. About: Lifelong Dog and Cat person, have always had pets and always will. I love all animals. My dog Hank was diagnosed with Glaucoma right before his 6th birthday; it was an adjustment getting used to a new routine of 3 different types of Eye-drops, every 8 hours. My friends and colleagues had often commented, "You're really good with animals." the💡idea became a recurring suggestion that I would enjoy offering temporary care to other people's Pets, similarly to how I lovingly care for any of my own animals. Often get asked why/how my dog Hank is so well behaved, mellow, and such a good dog. Is it the training? "Sure," of course. But most of it is quite simple: Hank is rarely left alone. He goes everywhere with me. He hikes about 5 miles every day. He doesn't overeat, or sit-around. He's active, gets exercise, and is socialized often with other people and pets. So when he meets a new person, it's not a first, it's his daily routine. If your work/life balance has you leaving your pet alone most days? I can help change your dog's daily routine - so when you come home from work? Your dog has had a full day of activities they enjoy, and are happy to see you (with less pent up energy) Available 7 days a week to care for your dogs or cats. Have flexibility to be able to adjust to a variety of tasks. Let's chat about what you need. Whether I'm stopping-in quickly to fill the water & food bowl, administering some mid-day medication, taking your dog outside for a brief walk, or picking up your pet at your place & taking it to their favorite park or nature center; even having your pet for a play-date at my house with our huge fenced in Yard, or doing a doggy slumber party at your home. I'm ready to keep your pet entertained, well cared for, well fed, up to date on all medications, and very well-loved while they're in my care. Relax knowing, i've checked ✔️ off that box representing the responsibility of your dog or cat, while you're working or vacationing.
“Vivian put our mind at ease while we trusted her care with our dog. She was patient and supportive, while providing such detailed daily updates of our furry friend. Highly recommended for her services!”

“Nicole does a great job with walking and doggy day care! Both of our girls have different energy levels and Nicole is great at catering to both! We'll definitely continue to use her and are very grateful for finding someone that understands our dogs and really cares about their well-being.”

About: I have always been involved in pet care in my home for over 15 years. I have had experience with elderly dogs and cats of my own. I have pet-sitted in my neighborhood for puppies and for breeds different from my own dogs. I will use my energy to play with your pet and hopefully decrease their energy. I am starting graduate school and I have a flexible schedule and availability for stop-ins during the day or bringing study materials to a client’s home. My yard is fenced in and I can take dogs for a walk in Brookdale Park nearby. I will administer medicine and play with dogs and provide them with a cuddly environment.

About: I have grown up and taken care of dog my entire life! I love playing with animals and making sure they are getting the love and attention they deserve! I am a college athlete with lots of free time to take care of animals. I am an athlete and love going on walks and playing with animals! I am good with animals and know how to take care of them as well as make sure they are behaving while their owners are away.

I’ve recommended Antony to all my friends and family, and I will continue to do so! You should definitely give him a try, you won't be disappointed.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cedar Grove
This was only our first meeting with Brad. We booked him for 1 hour prior to a planned pet sitting stayover to meet us and our loving boy Jackson. To familiarize Brad with Jackson's routine, we wanted him to join us while we took Jackson on his daily walk. Brad was attentive and asked thorough questions about Jackson's care. They got along right away. We feel more comfortable having scheduled a longer initial meet. It gave us more peace of mind in knowing that the care and well being of our sweet baby and the care and regard for our home will be in good hands!

I’m home recovering from surgery and had never used Rover before, so I was really nervous about booking in general. Katie was beyond sweet, patient, and treated Curley so kindly. The first day, she brought her daughter, who was also the sweetest and such a bonus since Curley loves kids! They communicated with me and shared the cutest pictures. I felt really comfortable having them walk Curley and will definitely continue booking with them ☺️

I was so thankful to have found Maureen to walk my dog, Jimmy, during my surgical recovery when I was not permitted to walk the dog on a leash. Having Maureen walk the dog during my recovery reduced a lot of stress so that I could recover more quickly. She is an incredible, punctual, flexible, and trustworthy dog walker. She truly loved Jimmy, who gave her kisses after every walk. Maureen followed all my direction for caring for Jimmy. What was most incredible was that Maureen walked Jimmy through the extremely cold weather that we just experienced. She went above and beyond in walking Jimmy through these cold temperatures by wrapping him in a fleece blanket and carrying him to spots where he could poop and pee. Maureen is highly professional and will go the extra mile to take loving care for your dog. I would highly recommend her and would book her again to take care of Jimmy.
Our pet is friendly, well-socialized, and used to a consistent routine. They respond well to structure, positive reinforcement, and regular activity, and they do best with someone who is attentive and patient. Dayra was a great fit because she is responsible, reliable, and genuinely loves animals. She’s attentive to details, follows routines carefully, and is very observant of behavior and needs. Dayra is calm, trustworthy, and takes commitment seriously, which makes her well-suited to providing a safe, caring, and stable environment for our pet.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
