Currently in my care are the adorable bunny brother-and-sister duo I call the Wonder Twins, a senior Staffie mix who doesn’t like going down the shore so we’re weekend buddies, and Sassafrass, the “fraidy" cat. Each of these animals has its own rhythm and needs, and I've learned to pay close attention to what makes each one comfortable, whether that's a quiet room, a clean habitat, or a gentle, familiar routine. Since I'm retired, my days have a lot of natural flexibility built in. I can offer morning, midday, and evening visits throughout the week, not just squeezed-in slots around a nine-to-five.
