“Bryant was excellent with my senior dog. He was incredibly experienced in terms of my dog’s specific needs, including diaper changes and being mindful of her dementia traits. He was also very communicative and offered multiple updates throughout the day.”

“Allie was super attentive and caring with my pup, Kobe! I felt super secure knowing he was in great hands. Would highly recommend, and will definitely be booking her in the future.”

About: Hello! My name is Patty, and I’m a lifelong cat lover who truly enjoys caring for animals. I have two cats of my own, Sol and Luna, both two years old, so I understand firsthand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pets. I’ve cared for them since they were kittens, and I’m comfortable working with cats of all ages, from playful little ones to more independent adults. Pets have always been a big part of my life, and I know that each one has their own unique personality and needs. I’m patient, attentive, and happy to adapt to whatever makes your pet feel safest and happiest, whether that’s playtime, quiet companionship, or sticking closely to their routine. I’m currently a student at Columbia University, which gives me a flexible schedule for drop-ins and house sitting. I’m also happy to help with small extras like watering plants while you’re away. I’m open to last-minute bookings whenever possible—just send me a message, and we can find a time that works! I’d love to help make your time away stress-free, knowing your pet is in caring and capable hands. I am a full time student at Columbia, so I have a very flexible schedule. I am specifically looking for opportunities to pet sit over the summer when I will have the most availability, allowing me to stop by as often as you would want me to. I treat every pet like they’re my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I pay close attention to their routines, whether that means sticking to feeding schedules, getting in plenty of playtime, or just providing calm companionship. I’m experienced with different personalities and energy levels, so I adapt to what each pet needs. Whether it’s long walks, belly rubs, or extra patience I am here for it. Your pet’s happiness and well-being are always my top priority.
About: I’ve loved and cared for animals for as long as I can remember! I grew up with two dogs and was very hands-on with their care; everything from long walks to making sure they were always active, happy, and getting lots of attention. Since then, I’ve dog and cat sat for many friends and neighbors over the years, and I always treat their pets like my own. I know how important it is to stick to a pet’s routine and make them feel comfortable while you’re away. I work a hybrid schedule, so I’m available for pet sitting three days during the week and can be flexible based on your pet’s needs! I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and predictable environment for every pet. I’m very attentive on walks; keeping a close eye on surroundings, avoiding unsafe situations, and making sure your pet is always secure. In the home, I’m mindful about keeping doors closed, food and small items out of reach, and maintaining a clean, hazard-free space. I also take time to understand your pet’s personality, comfort level, and boundaries. Whether that means giving them space to warm up, sticking closely to their routine, or providing extra attention and reassurance, I adjust my approach to best fit their needs!😊🐾
“Liliana is an exceptional sitter who provided us with great updates about our pup while staying in our home. We could count on Liliana to care for our girl. We hope she comes again soon!”

About: I am a professional dogwalker and have had several four-legged friends in the past 5 years so I am very capable in a pinch to pamper and play with your pets, including dogs, cats and others. I know how difficult it can be to have someone to depend on when things pop up, so I hope I can be here for you. As a grad student, my availability is flexible, great news for pets who prefer not to be alone all day. Currently available for walks, drop-ins & overnight sits; not available to board. With proper notice, I'm happy to set up a meet and greet before care so I can understand navigating your space and your pet's needs, especially before longer care services. Very open to virtually meeting.
“Amanda responded to our holiday request on short notice. Her experience and willingness to go above and beyond for our blind pup made her an easy choice for pet sitting. We will definitely be booking her again the next time we leave town.”

About: Hi! I'm a college student working toward vet school, so caring for animals isn't just a job for me, it’s what I genuinely love doing. I've had my own cat for 5 years, so I know what it's like to be a pet parent. I've also spent plenty of time watching other people’s dogs and cats, from very high energy puppies to older dogs who just want a quiet environment. I'm comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. If something’s wrong I will reach out immediately. Since I'm on summer break, I have a pretty open schedule, but I do like to be upfront about my specific availability. I'm available Monday through Thursday anytime after 12:00 PM, all day Friday. On Saturdays, I'm available after 4:00 PM. I can also do evening visits, but I wrap things up by 10:00 PM. I know routines are really important to pets, so I'll work around whatever schedule your pet is used to, like midday walks, afternoon play sessions, or evening check-ins before bed. Consistency is very important! I only provide care in your home because I believe that pets are more comfortable in their own environment, with their own things and smells. I'm really careful with doors or any gates and will always make sure to double check every exit to make sure your pet stays safely inside. I will treat your home the way I'd want mine treated, I will clean up after myself, wash any bowls I use, and leave things tidy. I'll also send any updates/photos at every visit so you can see how things are going. I will also save your vet's contact info, just in case of any emergency. I always like to be prepared for anything.
“Asel is the absolute best. Her warm and welcoming demeanor had my relatively shy and anxious dog immediately obsessed with her. I was shocked to see pictures of my pup on a long walk (not something she usually enjoys other than with people she knows really well) and even feeling playful with her toy. Again these are somewhat normal for most dogs but my girl Hazel is usually very reserved with people at first and just likes to be snuggled up at home. Asel was also very respectful of my home and I felt super comfortable with her there!! 10/10 truly can’t recommend her enough!!”

“My active mini-husky Baxter enjoyed his time with Victor. Victor was professional, on time and took great care of Baxter. I would definitely book him again.”

“Stav did a wonderful job! We were so appreciative that our Aretha received so many nice long walks in the park (more than we ordinarily do!). Aretha was well taken care of and we came home to a clean apartment! Such peace of mind is everything! Thank you, Stav!”
About: Hello! My name is Cameron M, and I’m a dedicated and experienced animal caretaker with over 10 years of experience providing attentive, compassionate care for pets. I’ve spent years looking after family and neighborhood animals—dogs, cats, and small pets—ensuring they always feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I take pride in being reliable, detail-oriented, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs and routines. Whether it’s feeding, walking, administering care, or providing companionship, I make sure every animal receives the proper attention and affection they deserve. Your pets’ well-being is always my top priority, and I strive to give you peace of mind knowing they’re in caring hands. Pet care is a big part of my everyday life and something I truly enjoy. I’ve spent over 10 years caring for family and neighborhood pets, so feeding, walking, and spending quality time with animals has become second nature to me. I love starting my mornings with walks or playtime and making sure every pet I look after feels comfortable and loved throughout the day. Whether it’s drop-in visits, daily walks, or overnight care, I always make time to give each pet the attention they deserve. When caring for pets, I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I follow each pet’s regular routine as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, playtime, and any special instructions from their owner. In a client’s home, I treat the space with respect and make sure pets are relaxed in their familiar environment. I spend plenty of time giving them attention, exercise, and affection, so they never feel lonely while you’re away.
About: I've been around animals my entire life, so caring for dogs comes naturally to me. While I don't currently have a pet of my own, I truly enjoy spending time with dogs and giving them the care, attention, and love they deserve. I'm very active and love sports, so I'm always happy to take dogs on long walks, runs, or outdoor adventures if they enjoy being active too. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give each pup plenty of attention, exercise, affection, and companionship. Whether it's playtime, exploring the neighborhood, or simply keeping them company, I treat every dog as if they were my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. I work from home with a very flexible schedule, which allows me to easily incorporate pet care into my day. I'm available for walks, playtime, potty breaks, and plenty of attention throughout the morning, between meetings, and in the afternoon. Your pup will have regular companionship and won't be left alone for long periods. Whether I'm caring for your dog in my home or yours, their comfort, safety, and happiness are always my top priorities. Since I live in a cozy apartment, your pup will always be nearby and well supervised throughout the day. I'll make sure they have constant access to fresh water, are fed according to your instructions, and get plenty of bathroom breaks and exercise. I also believe in building trust through patience, positive reinforcement, and, with your permission, the occasional treat. If your pup enjoys affection, they'll get lots of cuddles and attention at their own pace. I always pay close attention to their behavior and body language to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.

“Emily was fantastic. She was prompt and reliable, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. She kept me updated with great photos throughout, and it was clear Nova was happy and well cared for. Most importantly, she followed all instructions closely and made the whole experience seamless.”

“Diana does really well with my dog who is very anxious about meeting new people. She keeps me informed about everything my dog does and takes great pictures of my dog. She is very good at taking instructions and takes great care of my dog.”

“Courtney was fantastic with our dog and our cat, too. She is very kind and definitely built a great bond with our dog while we were away. We hope to book with her again in the future.”

“Our cat is diabetic, and needs two shots of insulin per day. Latasha did a wonderful job at giving him the shot, and spending time with him to make sure he got some play and people time in while we were away. He looked great when we got back, and we're so grateful we found Latasha! Maxwell says thank you for the wonderful care – so do we!”

Summer was TRULY phenomenal. Our pups loved her from the start, and my wife and I were close behind! Summer was so professional, communicative, punctual, and thorough when taking care of our pups AND our apartment. We will EASILY be using Summer in the future. No notes. She was exceptional.

Joseph was super sweet, my girls who have the most separation anxiety from me were so well cared for, they were a little skeptical at first, debut shortly after, the pictures spoke for themselves…my girls were cuddled up in his lap, and happy as can be! He also sat on 4th of July and my girls were not a fan of fireworks, and he was so kind and caring, ensuring that they were comforted and cared for! We’ll definitely have Joseph watch my girls again soon!!!

Adolfo did a great job caring for Ernie, especially with the 4th of July fireworks. He updated me how he was doing and sat with him when he wanted to hide under my bed. He left the apartment clean and as is when we had left. I’d recommend him for your dog care.

This is my second time working with Clifmon– he stayed with my cat over the 4th of July weekend and took great care of her. I even reached out to him with a same-day request to see if he could stay with her an additional night and he accommodated that very graciously. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a responsible, communicative, and caring companion for their pet!

This was my first time leaving my two puppies with a sitter, and Emary made the entire experience so much easier. She took the time to meet them the day before, which immediately made me feel more comfortable and reassured. Throughout the stay, she kept me updated with regular messages, photos, and videos, and made it clear that she genuinely cared about them and their wellbeing. I also really appreciated how committed she was to keeping them on their normal routine. She asked detailed questions beforehand and did her best to follow everything exactly as we do at home. Since they’re still puppies, they have a few bad habits that we’re actively working on, and she was incredibly patient, understanding, and accommodating throughout their stay. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring dog sitter, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!

Megan is awesome! She was accommodating, flexible, punctual, responsible, and warm. She took great care of my mini poodle and my apartment. She is polite. She followed all my instructions. She stayed in close communication, and sent me great photos while I was away. I will definitely call upon her again. And most importantly, my dog loved Megan!

Liliana is very knowledgeable about cats. I have a new kitten that needs some socialization and boundaries with my older cats and she knew exactly when to intervene and when to let nature take it's course. I came back from a long trip with both cats happy and healthy.

Asel was absolutely incredible. I was nervous to leave our pets while we traveled, but she gave us total peace of mind from the very beginning. She was so communicative the entire time and sent all the pictures and updates I could ever want, which made such a difference while we were away. She took wonderful care of our dog, and even our feisty cats, who are not always easy to win over, ended up loving her. It was clear that all of our animals felt safe and happy with her. On top of taking such beautiful care of our pets, she left our home incredibly clean, which was such a lovely thing to come back to after a long trip. I truly cannot recommend Asel highly enough. She is kind, responsible, trustworthy, thoughtful, and clearly has such a special way with animals. We loved her and would book her again in a heartbeat.
Daniel took of our Oscar while we were out of town. He shared updates regularly (great pictures too), was quickly responsive to any questions I had, and was flexible when my travels plans seemed like they were going to change. He left my home in great shape too. Thanks so much.

FAQs for House Sitting - Inwood
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Inwood on Rover is $50.14 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 18,980 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Inwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Inwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Inwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Inwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Inwood. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
