“Binta was a wonderful sitter for my Cleo! I appreciate how she took the time to get to know Cleo and wrote meaningful updates. Cleo is a shy, reserved girl but Binta was able to get through to her! I hope to book with Binta again in the future. Thanks for everything, Binta!!”

About: I enjoy creating a special bond with dogs and cats, always going beyond walking, feeding, and keeping them company. I am committed to not disrupting current schedules while providing extra enrichment and giving your baby another human to trust. It is important to me that everyone leaves better because of that trust and time spent, including myself. Special skills include long term care, caring for 3+ animals, puppy training, medication administration (including cbd), senior care, caring for anxious animals, as well as reptile care (I am a reptile parent). I work freelance, giving me full control of my weekly schedule. Pet care seamlessly fits into my routine because it is already a part of my routine, I have been in pet care consistently for 6 years. I also must be walked daily, and enjoy taking those walks in different neighborhoods with different companions. I prefer to care for pets in spaces where they feel comfortable and safe, their home. While I am in your home I am always respectful and clean. It is important to me that I have an understanding of house rules, your pets schedule, and emergency contacts including their vet.
“Brionna is AMAZING! I have a 2 year old cat that I recently adopted and was nervous as this was the first time I would ever be away from my kitty but Brionna’s calm and kind demeanor quickly put me at ease! She was so communicative leading up to the visit and throughout. Her daily photos and remarks let me know that Tortellini was safe, cared for and comfortable! Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be asking her to take care of Tortellini again :)”

“Alexandria is my go-to and most trusted cat sitter! She's communicative and she takes good care of my cat. I appreciate that she takes the time to play with her and get to know her. You won't go wrong with Alexandria!”

“Laudianny was absolutely fantastic! I was so anxious to leave my dogs for a few days but she made the experience seamless. Great communication, super kind and each pic I got the boys looked so happy. Would highly recommend.”

About: My name is Jacob and I love dogs! I’ve been walking them and training them since I was seven-years-old. I have experience with dogs both big and small as well as breeds such as pit-bulls, mastiffs, and labradors. I’m comfortable with any type of dog. As for my previous experience, I used to walk dogs in my neighborhood in New York City where I grew up. I also love cats! I have a nice fluff-ball named Deebo. I love the little guys! I have references and will provide them upon request. I look forward to meeting you and your pet! I work night shifts starting at 10:30pm (starting on May 18th) but I’ll be available during the day and evening. Mornings are best, but I’m flexible. I will treat your home with the utmost respect and will cherish your pet. I take pride in my work and will ensure that it will seem like I was never there.
“Shelley was absolutely great! She came in exactly when she said she would and went above and beyond caring for my cat. She took the time to give my cat attention, made sure the food and water bowls were full, and stayed in constant communication with me throughout. I especially appreciated the photo updates—it gave me such peace of mind. I highly recommend Shelley to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

“Lili took care of our cat, Mishmish, while we were on vacation. She followed instructions to the T, and our elderly cat, who is usually pretty lethargic and not overly friendly, warmed up to her. We came back to clean litter box, swept floors, and our cat having fresh water and food. We will absolutely work with Lili again when we travel for extended period of time, and highly recommend her to any pet owner.”

“Jackson took wonderful care of Ddangkong. He was very caring and they got on really well together. I would highly recommend Jackson and would definitely book him again! ☺️”
“Tosha was so good with my son’s cat. She went above and beyond to make sure Peach was comfortable, well-fed and her litter box was always clean. Tosha sent us regular updates and spent extra time playing with Peach (or petting her as her mood dictated.) It gave us so much peace of mind to know Peach was well taken care of. We hope Tosha’s available the next time Peach needs a sitter.”

“Jonathan was great! He took extremely good care of my cats when I was away. He sent a ton of cute pictures and ensured everything was in working order. Highly recommended!”

“Amanda is absolutely great with my cat. She’s excellent with communication too, and a responsible person. She has cat sit for me multiple times and I intend to ask her to do it again.”

“Jennifer was excellent with my cats. One needs a lot of attention and logistics. Jennifer managed the feeding instructions and gave lots of love. I will absolutely hire her again.”

“Samantha has taken great care of our cat twice, both over the holidays. She takes time to send pictures, message if there are any concerns, she replies fast and she left a personal touch with a card. We will definitely hire Samantha every time we need help with our cat!”

“Emily was a great communicator and excellent drop in sitter for our cat, Charlie, while we were away for the weekend! We are definitely looking forward to having her help again!”

“Wow, I just realized it’s been a full year of Kristal coming 1-2 times weekly (most weeks) for a midday bathroom & play break for my two German Shepherd boys. This second review is long overdue. My boys love their time with Kristal! Kristal is the kind of Rover sitter you always hope to find - super responsive and communicative, flexible, accommodating, reliable, consistent, and a genuinely kind and good person who loves animals. Above that she has a beautiful friendship with my boys and makes sure her time with them is spent giving them the most fun, enriching and happy midday breaks. Her reports are always thorough, sweet/funny, and show how intentional she is when caring for the boys. Her pictures are awesome, she’s a very talented animal photographer and I now have a whole plethora of the cutest images of my fur babies. Such a gift! Having Kristal as part of our routine has been a blessing.”

“Leonore was great! She was very communicative and we appreciated that a lot, she also checked in regularly and the dogs were very well taken care of!”

Kristal was AMAZING! She went above and beyond, locating an Amazon package with litter and food delivered to the wrong apartment. She took wonderful pictures that really put us at ease! She also got our very shy cats to say hello and took great care of our chickens!!

Emily was great! Very communicative, always double checked my cats feeding schedule, and stayed with him for the full 30 minutes each visit and made sure he played. Would definitely recommend, and look forward to booking her again the next time I’m out of town (:

This is the 5th time we have asked Keissy to come and feed/ check on our cats while we’re away and as always, she was amazing. This time, though, our automatic kitty litter was malfunctioning and Keissy helped us troubleshoot it. I am super grateful and our cats are too. Thanks, Keissy!

Audrey has now helped me out with both dog walks and drop in visits for my cat while I am away. She has been communicative and very reliable. She always sends pictures which brings a smile to my day. I will continue to book any and all animal needs with Audrey (as long as she will continue to put up with my dog and pup!)

Alexandria is lovely and a cat expert! We have cats that are still being introduced and being kept separate. Both have specific needs like our older cat needing medicine and our younger being a crazy energizer bunny and she managed both perfectly. We are so glad she was there to care for our cats while we were away!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Inwood. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
