About: Hello! I’m great with understanding needs of different breeds and ages. I can match the activity level of your dog, and will do everything I can so you and your dog feel comfortable! I’m currently working part-time with flexible hours. I may be able to accommodate last-minute requests. I usually have time in the early mornings and midday. I have my own walking supplies in case your dog needs anything. I’m good with loose leash walking or heeling, depending on if your dog is trained and what your dog needs!
About: I loved playing with my neighbors' dogs since I was a kid, and I got my first dog when I was a graduate student. I also rescued two small little dogs without a full moon and brought them up. I'm currently a postdoc at Mount Sinai. But my dogs are not around, I really miss the happy time surrounded by dogs, if you would like to let me play with your dog, that would be my honor. I'm available after 2pm on Friday and weekends. Please tell me in detail what good or bad habits your pet has and what I need to be aware of. It'll make it easier for me to take care of them, and it'll give us a pleasant memory❤️. My pet's diet is timed and rationed according to weight. Make sure he have fresh water to drink every day. Take him out for a walk every afternoon to make sure he gets enough exercise. At home, I play puzzle games with him so that he won't feel lonely.

About: 33 year old looking to earn a little extra money while working remotely full time. I'm a huge dog/animal lover! I always grew up with dogs and helped watch/take care of them. I also helped watch, walk, and take care of friends' dogs, and used to walk for Wag, so I have lots of experience with it. Your dog will get lots of love and attention from me, and all the play time he/she needs. I work remotely, so I am somewhat open for walks! I just cannot commit to anything super consistent. I’m available for more occasional walks or visits I am currently not allowed to bring dogs to my rental apartment. I’m happy to listen to your instructions on caring for them in your home
“Binta was a wonderful sitter for my Cleo! I appreciate how she took the time to get to know Cleo and wrote meaningful updates. Cleo is a shy, reserved girl but Binta was able to get through to her! I hope to book with Binta again in the future. Thanks for everything, Binta!!”

About: I’ve taken care of my sweet senior dog for all of his nearly 18 years. I fully understand that seniors need a little extra love and attention 🩵 I’ve also been the default dog and cat sitter for friends when they have needed it. I have experience giving medicine and eye drops for dogs. I’m also happy to learn any other medical care needs if needed! My little guy passed recently, so I’m just here to give your fur babies some love while you are away 🩵 I work from home, so I’m pretty flexible and can take breaks midday to walk and play. I’m available for boarding most work days and weekends. I live on a quiet street that is great for walks, and there is also an open yard for quick potty breaks. I have no other pets in the home and only take one client at a time, so your pets will have my full attention!

“Alexa took AMAZING care of our two cats. She was incredibly communicative, thoughtful, and easy to work with. She sent us great updates and pictures. This was our first time using Rover so we weren't quite sure what to expect. As soon as we met Alexa, we felt very comfortable leaving our cats in her care. We highly recommend Alexa and look forward to working with her again!”

“Emily was amazing with our cats! She sent so many updates and pictures. She made sure to befriend both of them even though one is very shy and she made them so comfortable. We will definitely make sure to book her again because the girls loved their time with her!”

“Philsung has been great since day 1! He ensures that he meets all expectations when he is caring for your dog! He makes it a point to bond with your dog and form a solid relationship. My dog is always happy after a walk with him! Plus, he takes pictures of their time together, so you know exactly what happened! Highly recommend!!”

About: Hi, I’m Ksenia! I’ve been around animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family had a big Newfoundland dog along with cats, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. Today, our home is still full of animals. We have a cockapoo, a bunny, and two guinea pigs, so caring for pets is truly part of my everyday routine. I’m gentle, patient, and attentive, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, calm, and happy. I take this responsibility seriously and always treat every pet as if they were my own. Pet care fits easily into my weekday routine. I’m available for dog walks and drop-in visits during the week, whether your pet needs a potty break, feeding, playtime, or some extra company while you’re away. I enjoy calm, relaxed care and focus on being reliable, present, and consistent. Your pet’s safety and comfort always come first. I follow any instructions carefully and make sure dogs are walked calmly and securely. I’m attentive, respectful of your home and routine, and always keep pets supervised. I communicate clearly and want pet parents to feel fully comfortable and confident while their pet is in my care.
“My first time booking with a sitter for my two cats while taking a week long vacation. Ambroja went above and beyond to accommodate my girls and kept me updated every step of the way. So very thankful for her. Super professional, and I’ll definitely be booking with her again.”

“Rachel really helped me with my dog and cat during a difficult time, she walked my dog Petey twice without being asked, out of concern for him. She cares about Petey and Busker. ❤️”

About: Hi! I'm a college student working toward vet school, so caring for animals isn't just a job for me, it’s what I genuinely love doing. I've had my own cat for 5 years, so I know what it's like to be a pet parent. I've also spent plenty of time watching other people’s dogs and cats, from very high energy puppies to older dogs who just want a quiet environment. I'm comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. If something’s wrong I will reach out immediately. Since I'm on summer break, I have a pretty open schedule, but I do like to be upfront about my specific availability. I'm available Monday through Friday all day. On Saturdays, I'm available after 4:00 PM. I can also do evening visits, but I wrap things up by 10:00 PM. My schedule is pretty open until I start class the 28th of August. I will have class on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11am to 1:45pm and Fridays from 10am to 1:45pm. I know routines are really important to pets, so I'll work around whatever schedule your pet is used to, like midday walks, afternoon play sessions, or evening check-ins before bed. Consistency is very important! I only provide care in your home because I believe that pets are more comfortable in their own environment, with their own things and smells. I'm really careful with doors or any gates and will always make sure to double check every exit to make sure your pet stays safely inside. I will treat your home the way I'd want mine treated, I will clean up after myself, wash any bowls I use, and leave things tidy. I'll also send any updates/photos at every visit so you can see how things are going. I will also save your vet's contact info, just in case of any emergency. I always like to be prepared for anything.
“Stephanie was terrific with my cat Coco. I’m very happy to have her take care of my cat when we go on vacation. Very reliable and has a good sense with animals. Coco is not the friendliest kitty out there! I definitely will be rebooking with Stephanie each time we go away!”

About: As a lifelong dog owner and dedicated pet lover, I bring years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments. Having raised and cared for my own dogs throughout my life, I fully understand the deep responsibility and attention to detail required to keep a pet healthy, safe, and happy. In addition to caring for my own pets, I am the go-to dog sitter for my friends, family, and neighbors. Whether it’s staying over for multi-day house sitting, providing midday check-ins, or leading energetic daily walks, I treat every dog in my care as if they were my own. I am experienced with maintaining precise feeding schedules, administering medications, reinforcing basic training, and giving plenty of play time and belly rubs. When your dog is with me, you can expect open communication, regular photo updates, and complete peace of mind knowing your pup is in caring, trustworthy hands I work from home which means my schedule is flexible! I can help out in between meetings and work with a dogs needs as long as I know ahead of time. If it is okay with you, I also can work from your house and even bring my dog (if your dog is friendly) to spend extra time with the pup! Leash & Apartment Safety: Residing in an apartment means I am highly attentive during on-leash neighborhood walks, always keeping a firm grip, staying alert to surrounding distractions, and ensuring secure building entries and exits. Off-Leash & Trail Expertise: I regularly take my own well-trained dog to off-leash dog parks and hiking trails for exercise. While I only keep dogs off-leash with explicit owner permission, I am skilled at managing energy and maintaining control in open environments.
About: Hi! I'm Tatiana, a lifelong animal lover with many years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes, personalities, and needs. I've been lucky enough to share my life with some very special dogs, including a poodle who lived an incredible 21 years and, most recently, my beloved Boston Terrier, Skye. Skye was deaf, and caring for her gave me years of experience with alternative communication and dogs who need a little extra patience and attention. I recently lost her to cancer, and while I miss having my own little companion tremendously, I'd love the opportunity to give some of that same care and affection to other dogs. I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes and ages and genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog's individual personality and routine. I'm an avid walker, so I'm happy to accommodate dogs who love getting their steps in, but I'm equally happy spending time with senior or lower-energy pups who prefer a slower pace and plenty of companionship. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I'll always treat your dog and your home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I'm attentive, patient, dependable, and happy to follow detailed instructions regarding feeding, walks, routines, medications, or any other individual needs. I live in Bergen County, am very close to NYC, have reliable transportation, and am happy to provide regular updates and photos while your pet is in my care. I look forward to meeting you and your pup! I work from home full time, therefore I am available during all day/night hours during the week. It is very easy to make a schedule to accommodate you! For weekend requests, please reach out at least 24-48 hours ahead for availability confirmation. I can happily provide pet care on weekends as well, please let me know ahead of time please to ensure my schedule is cleared out for your furry friend! A brief conversation regarding your pets is preferred prior to initial visit to ensure we are covering pets needs and your expectations. Your pet will be treated like my own. They are family members, and deserve nothing less. Photo and text updates will be provided throughout my time with them. Please note I am not able to provide boarding in my home due to pet restrictions in my building, but I would be happy to pet sit at your home during the day/overnight/vacations!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fort Lee. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
