I’m Shanese! I’m a lifelong cat lover, experienced foster, and reliable sitter based in NYC. I grew up with cats from a young age, and in recent years I’ve helped care for my roommate’s cat while fostering others. I truly enjoy getting to know each cat’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m a homebody by nature, which means I’m usually available for drop-ins, extended visits, or full overnight stays. I’m Type A, so I follow each cat’s routine exactly as you describe it. This means feeding schedules, litter needs, play style, medications, or even their preferred hiding spots. I’m comfortable with shy, senior, and active cats, and I genuinely love creating calm, happy environments for them.

Shanese was the very first cat sitter for my cat, so I was naturally a little nervous. She was incredibly reliable, professional, and patient from start to finish. My cat was very stressed being in a new environment, and despite a difficult first night, she took the time to make him feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Her place is a true cat paradise, filled with toys, and everything a cat could possibly need to have fun and be like home. She put a lot of thoughts and care she puts into creating the perfect environment for her guests. I'm already rebooking Shanese for a longer stay this summer because I know my cat will be happy, well cared for, and in the best hands.

Shanese was a fabulous sitter for our cat while we were away. She was always very communicative and responsive. She kept everything clean while we were gone and kept our cat having fun and engaged during her visits. We would highly recommend her!

From the moment I needed to leave my Flaco to me picking him up, I’ve never felt so much peace to leave my cat with a sitter. My flaco tends to be very shy at first and needs time to warm up. Shanese was able to allow him to warm up on his own allowing him to roam the apartment and then after a few days Flaco acted as if he lived with Shanese for years which I love and as someone who was out of the country, it’s something I wanted to see. Shanese was able to provide amazing updates via text message, pictures and audios allowing me to not have worry whatsoever. When warming up, Flaco tends to be talkative and even that Shanese was able to navigate it. Shanese home is cozy, there’s window safeguard and enough sunlight for your baby to get that well needed sun tan. Flaco sure loves being on the window. Shanese also followed the feeding instructions. After I picked up flaco, He wanted to be next to her which showed me the attentiveness, affection and care that Shanese provided my baby. I love how Shanese is able to have one cat at a time to provide all of the attention needed. As someone who has a few trips for the 2026 year, I wouldn’t think about it twice with booking with Shanese again.
Shanese is the absolute best! My darling was a little spicy at times and Shanese always came with love and snuggles for my girl cat! She hosted my baby for an entire month with the sweetest temperament and sent me updates every single day - pictures, videos, and let me call whenever I needed to. She was a phenomenal host until the very end - including my cat having a wild meltdown when realizing she needed to get into her crate to leave. Shanese helped me get my baby home safely and I am immensely grateful. I literally cannot shower enough praise on Shanese!

Schedule
I work from 3 days a week (flexible). I am a homebody, so I’m also usually available on the weekends too. During the work day I still make sure to engage and interact with the cat.

Safety, trust & environment
In my apartment, I keep the environment clean and cat-friendly. I don’t have other pets, and I use cameras in the main area to monitor the cats, so I can to make sure they’re safe at all times. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect your space, follow house rules, and provide regular updates, photos, and check-ins.
A typical day
Mornings start with feeding, litter box care, followed by gentle play if your cat is interested. Throughout the day, I make sure to check-in. Evenings include dinner, light play or affection (based on your cat’s personality), and settling in for a relaxed night. I always move at your cat’s pace and respect their boundaries.
