“Kiky was an excellent sitter. She communicated very well and provided frequent updates including very cute pictures of our dog Honey. We truly appreciate the thoughtful attention she gave to Honey, and we would absolutely love to have her watch Honey again. I highly recommend Kiky!”

About: I’ve taken care of my sweet senior dog for all of his nearly 18 years. I fully understand that seniors need a little extra love and attention 🩵 I’ve also been the default dog and cat sitter for friends when they have needed it. I have experience giving medicine and eye drops for dogs. I’m also happy to learn any other medical care needs if needed! My little guy passed recently, so I’m just here to give your fur babies some love while you are away 🩵 I work from home, so I’m pretty flexible and can take breaks midday to walk and play. I’m available for boarding most work days and weekends. I live on a quiet street that is great for walks, and there is also an open yard for quick potty breaks. I have no other pets in the home and only take one client at a time, so your pets will have my full attention!
“Tao and his daughter did a wonderful job with our boy Logan. He kept in constant contact and answered all of our questions and even sent over pictures of our special boy throughout the day without being asked to do so. We're going to continue to have our boy stay there when needed. We feel very lucky to have met him and his daughter.”

“Thank you Tiffany for hanging out with Biscuit! I appreciate the updates and quick communication. Also really appreciated doing a meet and greet before we booked daycare. Biscuit is excited to see you again soon!”

“Laura was wonderful with our German shepherd Rosie, with lots of enthusiastic care. She kept us up to date with photos and reports so we knew Rosie was happy and relaxed. We recommend Laura’s services!”

“Denise took great care of my two boys! She walked them, played with them and let them have fun with her sweet grandkids in the backyard. She provided plenty of pictures and updates and has a beautiful home to host the dogs in. I can tell she takes pride in having a good home for the dogs she cares for and is very responsive, responsible and attentive! My dogs will be excited to go back and see her again soon :)”

I am very passionate about my job and making sure the pet Im taking care of has all of its needs, and ofcourse some slight spoilage! Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Fort Lee
Cindy was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was extremely responsive (very quick), very accommodating of my two dogs’ different food diets, shared great photos and videos with kind complimentary words of the dogs. An absolute pleasure - my dogs loved being with her - would absolutely rebook.

Kiki took amazing care of our Pippa! She kept us updated throughout the day with multiple photos and messages about how Pippa was doing, including potty breaks, meals, and playtime. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was in such caring hands. Pippa clearly had the best time and came home happy and relaxed. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will definitely be booking with Kiki again. Highly recommend! 🐶❤️

Susan and her husband are AMAZING! I was extremely stressed trying to find someone to watch Mochi at the last minute but Susan responded quickly, was incredibly flexible, and worked with me every step of the way. Throughout Mochi's stay, she sends regular updates and photos, which I absolutely loved. Mochi absolutely adores them. I highly highly recommend!

Jatna was amazing and I fully trust her to watch our pup anytime. We were visiting from out of town and she kept our young puppy and ensured he was well taken care of and loved on while we went to an event. Her communication was top notch and she kept me informed during his entire stay. I trust very few people, but I am glad we chose her to take care of our puppy. Highly recommend!

Luisanna was amazing with Lola and I would recommend her to anyone. We took our Lola girl on vacation with us to New York but she could not do some of the activities… Luisanna was available at short notice with quick and easy drops off/ pick ups. She was very responsive when I texted her and communicated with us during the day on how Lola was doing. Her communication is amazing, along with her sweet relaxed energy Lola warmed right up to her ! She truly took care of my baby as her own and it was easy to tell when I brought Lola the following day, Lola ran right to her. It was so reassuring to know my dog was happy, safe and well cared for. Her location is very convenient for any New York or New Jersey plans as she is right over the bridge. She was truly a life saver and I am so greatful I found her. Anytime I visit NY I will be contacting her as I’m sure Lola would love to see her !

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Fort Lee commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
