About: Dear parent(s), I thank you for considering me to look after your puppy. In the following short paragraphs you will read a little bit about me and my love for nature. SERVICE: I cater to those parents who need either a "once in a while" (but can be frequent) and/or a "last minute" sitting/walking care. I update my Rover availability based on my regular job's schedule to date to provide you a better service. ME: My love and passion for puppies began at a very young age. Growing up, I was blessed with having at least one dog in the household. During my high school years, I worked at a parrot shop located in Edgewater. There, I cared for baby parrots by handfeeding them their formula, which I prepared myself. I also kept a health chart on many baby parrots. Adults parrots were also present and cared for. My love and respect for animals has only increased through the years. Life has us all working so much that it takes us away from what we would rather do, spend time with our pets. Your dog will be cared for and looked after when you need to attend other matters. I have cared for dogs in the past, small and large (Saint Bernard the largest). I cannot pet sit in my home, but I can come to yours, though most of the time I will be out with him/her. So next time your puppy needs love and care when you need to be elsewhere, book me. I will make sure to fill that void your absence will leave, so the time he/she misses you will be less. Though I love dogs very much, I can be firm when needed. If there are any special requirements, please let me know. A. If your dog is shy, I will make sure he/she is not overwhelmed by other dogs or even humans. B. If he/she is hyper, to avoid kids being frightened. C. Do you prefer that your dog does not visit dog parks, or at least when they are not that busy? etc. I am currently a Real Estate Agent. My main working days are the weekends for open houses. This provides me with the freedom to care for your pet during the week, which is when most doggies are home-alone, but not anymore if I have a say in the matter. Building regulations and lack of space have prevented me from such joy. While I cannot pet sit at my home, I can take your dog outdoors. I try and stay physically active, so your dog will be walking and playing.
“Rachel really helped me with my dog and cat during a difficult time, she walked my dog Petey twice without being asked, out of concern for him. She cares about Petey and Busker. ❤️”

“Wonderful care! Kept my kitties loved and well cared for. Sweet photos and thorough reports received daily. I was able to fully enjoy my vacation since I knew my cats were in such great hands. Thank you Alexa!”

About: 33 year old looking to earn a little extra money while working remotely full time. I'm a huge dog/animal lover! I always grew up with dogs and helped watch/take care of them. I also helped watch, walk, and take care of friends' dogs, and used to walk for Wag, so I have lots of experience with it. Your dog will get lots of love and attention from me, and all the play time he/she needs. I work remotely, so I am somewhat open for walks! I just cannot commit to anything super consistent. I’m available for more occasional walks or visits I am currently not allowed to bring dogs to my rental apartment. I’m happy to listen to your instructions on caring for them in your home

About: I have fostered a 4 month old poodle for 2 months. My daily/weekly routine just consists of working and hanging out with friends! Unfortunately I can not host pet sitting at my home for my land owner doesn’t allow pets inside, but if I were to work at your home, I would act accordingly with respect!

The experience exceeded our expectations and we will use her again in the future.”

About: I loved playing with my neighbors' dogs since I was a kid, and I got my first dog when I was a graduate student. I also rescued two small little dogs without a full moon and brought them up. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fort Lee
Joseph was recommended to us by another trusted sitter. He took great care of our senior cat. He followed all feeding instructions, administered her medicine, and the apartment was in good shape when we returned. We would hire him again any time to care for her.

I absolutely loved having Anne watch my cats! Right from the start, her incredibly friendly and warm energy put me completely at ease. The daily updates she provided while I was away were a highlight. Anne doesn't just send a standard check-in; she crafts concise yet wonderfully vivid recounts of her visits that read exactly like the pages of a storybook. Paired with the fantastic pictures she takes of their time together, it felt like I was following my cats along on a beautifully documented little adventure. I couldn't recommend her enough for anyone looking for a thoughtful, engaging, and top-tier sitter.

Dominick is tremendous, and we will continue booking with him! He's taken care of our two cats several times now, and each time we get back into town, it's obvious that our cats have been well taken care of. Dominick takes expert pictures, and provides detailed and (frequently) hilarious commentary about our cats' behavior and antics--so much so that Dominick's daily reports and photos have become a delightful part of our vacations while we're away! We recommend him highly. Thank you Dominick! Peter & John and Bev & Paul

Kaosi was amazing and we absolutely recommend her and plan to book again. Sebastian loved her and she was very attentive to his needs and updating my family on how he was doing each day. We felt comfortable with her and have no complaints, she followed all of our instructions and was very pleasant during the meet and greet. Book Kaosi!

Rennan was awesome with my dog! He kept me updated with pictures and messages, and I could tell my dog was happy and well taken care of. It made being away so much less stressful. I’d definitely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great dog sitter.

Vanessa has cared for my kitty, Boo, many times. This time, she came out to care for him in terrible weather: 100-degree heat and downpours. Always on time, reliable, and communicative, Vanessa takes detailed notes and lots of pictures, which keep me informed of how Boo is doing. I have complete peace of mind that my kitty is well cared for while I am away. I highly recommend Vanessa to care for your prt.

I came back to two perfectly fed, well groomed, happy kitties cats and a very clean apartment. She always sent detailed text, lots of pictures and Videos updates every day. She is punctual, sweet and gentle. She loves animal with all of her heart and beyond. Cant thank her enough

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
