About: Hello my name is Jose but I rather be called JC. I’ve been a dog walker for 5 years now. I have two dogs so I know how to deal with more than one dog while walking around. I usually walk around my dogs around riverside or central park cause it open and has a lot of fresh air. I’m not used to house sitting but I'm willing to but a week in advance. I'm also not used to taking care of cats but if needed I will take care of only hypoallergenic cats. (just in case I'm allergic) I love animals of all shape and sizes and I'm looking forward to anyone that is looking for my services. 3 word to best describe me will be responsible, reliable, and punctual.
“Jacob walked our two big kids Maggie & Milo for 6 days and put up with all their pulling and stubbornness. We could not have asked for a friendlier, more conscientious or patient person to deal with these two critters. I'm giving Jacob 5 stars and my strongest recommendation to anyone looking for an A+ walker.”

“Lee did a fantastic job with Cookie! He was very professional and patient, even when Cookie tried to hide to avoid going on her walk. He did a great job convincing her to go, and she ended up having a wonderful time walking with him.”

“We’ve just started working with Jenny and it’s been going great so far! She is always on time or early, very careful to follow instructions about training, and Beaux puppy is already showing positive signs in her walking behavior.”

“Jaquelin has just started walking my dog and she’s been incredibly gentle and patient with my girl Maya. Her communication and updates have made it easy to trust her. She’ll be continuing the weekly walks with Maya.”

“Tiffany was really great with my dog Mela, who gets pretty anxious on walks and with new people. She took her time and was really gentle with her, and it made me feel a lot better about leaving Mela in her care. I really appreciated it and would definitely book with her again.”

“Binta was amazing with my dog Venus even going as far as being able to help Venus with her boots. We communicated the whole time before her walks which made me feel at ease. I will definitely contact her for future walks and whoever is reading this should to.”

“Arleth is amazing! She has been walking my dog(Blish)for a while now! who is a very nervous dog!! She seems so happy with her and I’m so grateful for her patience and the wonderful care she gives her!!!”

“Liliana was awesome with our yorkie, Champy. She walked him and sent lots of great pictures. She was even able to give meds. I would certainly reach out in the future for dog walking and boarding needs.”

About: I’ve cared for animals of all ages. I used to go to zoology camps when I was a kid and used to want to be a vet. Having the trust of an animal is a privilege and a blessing and I do not take these things for granted 💙 I work part time at a fitness studio and substitute teach. I’d love to pop by and check on your furry loved ones or take your pooch for a walk before or after work or on weekends when I’m not with my own cat 🐈⬛ I love guidance and instructions - if you leave them, I’ll follow them to a ‘T’. Also, not to brag, but animals love me. In addition to wanting to be a vet when I was a child, a Disney princess surrounded by woodland creatures was high on the list!
“My dog immediately loved Anthony and he definitely knows dogs well, since he has one of his own. He is a great walker and highly recommend! Good communication also. Thank you Anthony!”

“We had a last-minute situation where I was traveling, Lola's Dad was working, and our sitter had to cancel. Elizabeth jumped in to cover. Elizabeth was so helpful, communicative, and did exactly what Lola needed, walks and attention : ) Thank you so much for helping! Hope we Lola can see you again!”
“Neil took great of my pup, making sure she had her walks throughout the day. He was incredibly responsive and checked to see if there was anything my pup needed.”

“Drew was an awesome dog walker and I can’t say enough amazing things about him! He came out to meet Bro before the walk to make sure everything went well. He also had patience when I forgot to give the lockbox code. Very grateful to Drew! Book him!”

“Essence is so wonderful with my dog Winnie. she goes above and beyond with a smile and a sense of humor. I’m very fortunate that she agreed to walk my pup, who isn’t the easiest to walk. Highly recommend Essence!”
“Thank you Shelly for helping us out on short notice when we needed some backup help because of work travel. :) Our pup was in high spirits when we returned home and Shelly was punctual and communicative the whole time!”

“Nicole is terrific! She walked my pup Sadie twice a day for several days and did a great job. She was in close contact about how Sadie was doing and sent photos. Other than one afternoon when she needed to cancel, Nicole arrived promptly and walked Sadie for a full hour each time as scheduled. Sadie absolutely loved her!”

“Matt was heroic and came through for us in our dying needs. Very grateful. 🥹 Matt is the best - reliable, kind, communicative, and loves our pup. -DeVon, Analisse & Nala 🐾”

This was our first time with Jacqueline & she was great with my Pomsky! Very communicative, sending pix and comments during their walks! I needed her in the early mornings which is not the usual time or days I need and she was very responsible and helpful! Thank you Jacqueline!

Michelle was so great with Benny, she was so willing to follow instructions and was careful with Benny as I asked her to watch him pretty closely because he can be reactive. She was so communicative and took extra care to make sure he was comfortable and sent me great pics on their walk. My neighbors even had great things to say about her as they met her in the building. I would definitely recommend booking with Michelle.

Jacob has walked my dog twice and done an outstanding job, going above and beyond. He responded on. Short notice and Tanky responded to him much better than most folks that have walked him. The only problem with Jacob is that he doesn't charge enough, so be sure to give him a good tip.

Jamie was amazing! He was easygoing, communicated clearly from the very beginning, and made the entire experience stress-free. I felt completely comfortable and confident leaving Mr. Lucky in his care. He kept me updated with photos throughout the stay, and seeing how happy and relaxed Mr. Lucky looked gave me so much peace of mind. I would absolutely trust Jamie with Mr. Lucky again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
