About: Hi! I’m Kris — a lifelong animal lover, experienced caregiver, and proud pet parent myself. After years working professionally as a nanny and preschool teacher, I understand how important trust, patience, and reliability are when caring for someone you love. I share my home with my rescue cat, Cosmo, who found me as a sick stray and quickly became the tiny king of the household. I have also been a shelter volunteer for many years, so I'm good with rescues and seniors. I’d love to help local families with dependable walks, check-ins, and companionship for their pets. Whether your pet loves a long stroll, a little extra playtime, or just a friendly face while you’re away, I’ll make sure they feel safe, cared for, and appreciated. I believe every pet has their own personality (and usually very strong opinions!), and I love getting to know what makes each one special. I work at a restaurant in the evenings, but I'm looking forward to dedicating my mornings/ early afternoons to caring for YOUR fur baby! I'm also available weekends and most holidays. When caring for pets, my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. I'm detail-oriented and will always follow an owner's care instructions carefully. I understand the trust involved in allowing someone into your home. My years working as a nanny and preschool teacher taught me the importance of reliability, clear communication, and caring for someone’s family member exactly the way their family would want. I’m happy to provide updates, photos, and notes so you know your pet is happy and cared for while you’re away!
About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have been caring for them for over 24 years. In addition to helping friends and family with their pets, I’ve volunteered in animal shelters and gained experience with many different dogs. I treat every dog with patience, care, and respect. I work full-time, but pet care fits well into my routine. I’m available for care during weekdays and fully available on weekends. I always make time to give dogs proper attention, walks, and consistency. Safety and trust are my top priorities. I follow each dog’s routine closely, keep doors and leashes secure, and supervise interactions at all times. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I provide a calm, clean, and safe environment.
“Shaun was fantastic - I cannot recommend Shaun enough. A few great things about Shaun: 1) He was incredibly professional - Shaun asked all of the right questions (ones I even forgot) upfront to make sure he was prepared for the day. He was on time (early!) and got right to helping our dog Spike while I was working. He sent a full day debrief after meeting which was so helpful. 2) He did a great job with our puppy! Shaun spent a lot of time playing, walking and hanging out with our dog. We are so grateful to have found someone who loves our puppy! He also sent a lot of pictures which was awesome. Can't wait to hire Shaun again!”

“Tosha was fantastic. I left for a longer than usual time on vacation; and Tosha came by on daily basis to watch and check-in on my cat, Buddy. Tosha was communicative, helpful, and did a wonderful job watching over him. She even went above and beyond to help clean up after Buddy when he made some messes in the apartment. I'm very grateful for her help, will book her in the future, and recommend others do as well.”

“Great experience with Amanda! Communicative and prompt, but most importantly genuinely seemed like she loved spending time with my kitties, which put my mind at ease and made me smile. Great pictures too. Thanks again!”

“Great pet sitter. My cat was always very happy to see him. He was great with communication and willing to go above and beyond to make sure he was well taken care of. Will definitely use again when needed.”

About: I have had pets since I was a child, I have extensive background dealing with and training small and large dogs. I have a fur baby of my own (a white and brown havenese) and love meeting new puppies/dogs. I live in Inwood and my apartment is dog friendly; I also have a great park nearby for lots of outdoor playtime. The dog park is also within that park which my dog loves very much. I have a lot of free time as I’m working as a real estate professional, and love making organic doggie treats for my own pup. I can host dogs at my place for more than a week as well as offer drop in service at your home. I look forward to meeting your best friend! I’m usually available during the weekends and can board dogs or cats during the week. Currently I watch dogs/cats for repeat clients & friends either in my home or at their home. I’ll always be sure to leave the client’s home exactly as I found it, I can always dog sit while your away, and I can send photographs throughout the day and video chat if you’d prefer.
“Jessica took such good care of my cat and was an excellent communicator! Sent great updates, photos, brushed him, etc! She’s the best! Made me feel so much better about traveling.”

“Rachel is quick to respond, punctual, and great with the cats! She was able to administer oral medication and followed directions well. She had a very calming energy and got my shy cat to come out on her own and feel comfortable. I’m very happy with the care she provided my fur babies on short notice.”

About: Hi! I'm a college student working toward vet school, so caring for animals isn't just a job for me, it’s what I genuinely love doing. I've had my own cat for 5 years, so I know what it's like to be a pet parent. I've also spent plenty of time watching other people’s dogs and cats, from very high energy puppies to older dogs who just want a quiet environment. I'm comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. If something’s wrong I will reach out immediately. Since I'm on summer break, I have a pretty open schedule, but I do like to be upfront about my specific availability. I'm available Monday through Friday all day. On Saturdays, I'm available after 4:00 PM. I can also do evening visits, but I wrap things up by 10:00 PM. My schedule is pretty open until I start class the 28th of August. I will have class on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11am to 1:45pm and Fridays from 10am to 1:45pm. I know routines are really important to pets, so I'll work around whatever schedule your pet is used to, like midday walks, afternoon play sessions, or evening check-ins before bed. Consistency is very important! I only provide care in your home because I believe that pets are more comfortable in their own environment, with their own things and smells. I'm really careful with doors or any gates and will always make sure to double check every exit to make sure your pet stays safely inside. I will treat your home the way I'd want mine treated, I will clean up after myself, wash any bowls I use, and leave things tidy. I'll also send any updates/photos at every visit so you can see how things are going. I will also save your vet's contact info, just in case of any emergency. I always like to be prepared for anything.
“Diana took great care of our cats while my husband and I were away for a few days. She was attentive to detail and communicative and our cats loved her! We will search for her on rover again next time. Thanks, diana!”

“Fallon was a fantastic cat sitter for our cat, Yuki. She was professional and flexible, accepting our last-minute request and handling a slight mix-up we caused with ease. She sent us daily photo updates, which made us feel completely at ease during our two-week vacation. We came home to a happy cat and highly recommend her!”

“Lee is an amazing dog sitter and walker -- over the course of almost 2 years we worked with Lee in NY as our primary sitter/walker. He was incredibly responsive via text, the app or otherwise. With walking he walked my Dane - Ryan 2-5 times a week and would flex to show up when I was often late at the office. Lee also stayed at my home with Ryan often - he was clean, respectful of the space an totally attentive to my pup. My roommate mentioned rarely noticing he had even been there. When Lee wasn't available he had friends on recommendation who were amazing and even went out of his way to hand off his set of keys to them. Lee became such a part of Ryan's life often he was more excited when Lee arrived than when I did! We've since moved to LA and will miss him greatly!”

“Wendy was great with Nash! She followed all my instructions, communicated during the visit, and even sent me a photo! Her visit was very helpful and took the worry out of being gone for the day. I will definitely book Wendy again!”

“Jacquelyn was awesome and took great care of our cat Lilly! She was professional, reliable, and flexible. She kept in contact and overall was a great experience. We would highly recommend to anyone reading this. Thanks so much!”

About: I am a professional dogwalker and have had several four-legged friends in the past 5 years so I am very capable in a pinch to pamper and play with your pets, including dogs, cats and others. I know how difficult it can be to have someone to depend on when things pop up, so I hope I can be here for you. As a grad student, my availability is flexible, great news for pets who prefer not to be alone all day. Currently available for walks, drop-ins & overnight sits; not available to board. With proper notice, I'm happy to set up a meet and greet before care so I can understand navigating your space and your pet's needs, especially before longer care services. Very open to virtually meeting.
About: I worked 1 year in pet boarding. And bath groomer. I cared every single breed and also cared a lot cats. It’s amazing !!!I loved it I’m available to play all afternoon. I really love spent my time with them. In the morning I have a job but I’ve arrived always early to my home. I always take care to them. Hours to eat, hours to play, to go to walk, most importantly make feel the dog comfortable and also the costumer. I am currently not working but have a few errand along the day. In the morning as soon as I wake up I would take care of the cleaning pet area, feeding and walking if needed. I would repeat the process in the afternoon. I make sure to keep everything as clean as possible, separate the pets as directed by the owners, also feed and walk (of dog) twice a day or as directed for the owner

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Inwood
Let’s begin by saying I’ve never left my dogs for more than a few days and if so usually with just my mom. I had to go away for a family vacay and was so anxious as one of my doggies has to take his heart medication every 12hrs. Being away for 7 days while everyone I trusted was on this trip with me and thank god I came across Laudianny she was AMAZING! She was puntual and amazing with my babies. She was so good with link and his medicine and so loving with Lily 💕 all my dogs loved her. I will 100% be booking with her again!
Leta has been watching my dog since she was a puppy, and I can’t recommend her enough! She has always been amazing with her, from handling all of her puppy energy to caring for her as she’s gotten older. Leta is incredibly reliable and trustworthy, whether she’s taking her for walks while I’m at work or staying with her for an extended period. Most recently, she watched my dog while I was out of the country for two weeks, and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was with someone I trust. She sent me such great updates through out the trip. My dog loves her, and I always know she’s in great hands with Leta!

Rennan was awesome with my dog! He kept me updated with pictures and messages, and I could tell my dog was happy and well taken care of. It made being away so much less stressful. I’d definitely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great dog sitter.

Michelle is very sweet with our pups. She visited them twice last week and both times they were happy to see her. She arrived on time and took good care of them, sending us photos and updates during the visit. She’s attentive and follows our instructions well. We will definitely schedule more drop-in visits with Michelle.

Daisy has a friend! Ariadne G. was INCREDIBLE with our 8 pound little floof. Caring, loving, with a gentle willingness and openness to learning Daisy’s routines and quirky needs. Daisy, who can be shy and hide and look sad and flumped, or can be barky and anxious with others when we are away, was her free spirited, playful, and silly self under Ari’s care. Daisy ate well, showed Ari all of her tricks, and played toys. We were so happy with the daily reports and pictures of Daisy enjoying Ari’s company.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
