About: Hi! I strive to provide a local Bergen County pet care service dedicated to treating every pet like family. I provide dependable, loving care for dogs and cats including daily walks, drop-in visits, overnight stays, and small-dog boarding in a calm home environment. Pet parents choose me because I’m: • Reliable and punctual • Gentle and patient with shy or senior pets • Experienced with medications and special routines • Big on communication (photos + updates every visit!) Whether your pup needs a quick potty break, a long walk, or overnight care while you’re away, you can relax knowing they’re safe, happy, and loved. I can’t wait to meet your furry family member! Pet care is a regular part of my weekly routine and my primary focus. I structure my schedule around walks, drop-in visits, and overnight stays, which allows me to be flexible and dependable for my clients. I’m available mornings, afternoons, and evenings throughout the week, as well as weekends and holidays when needed. I’m able to give pets consistent attention and never feel rushed between visits. My goal is to provide reliable, on-time care that fits each pet’s normal routine. Safety, trust, and consistency are my top priorities when caring for pets. I treat every home and pet with the same respect and attention I would expect for my own. In clients’ homes, I carefully follow each pet’s normal routine for feeding, walks, medications, and bedtime so they feel comfortable and stress-free. I keep doors secured, use leashes and harnesses properly, and always double-check gates and locks. I also send regular photo and message updates so owners feel connected and reassured. I pride myself on being reliable, detail-oriented, and respectful of both pets and homes, which is why many families trust me for ongoing care.
“Amazing. Amanda went above and beyond taking care of our grumpy old lady and rambunctious kitten! She followed all of my ridiculous instructions and sent lots of photos and video. I can tell that she loves animals and cares for them as if they are her own. Great communication too. We will def be requesting to book again! Thank you so much!”

About: I’ve been a dog owner for years and have cared for pups at every stage of life—from energetic puppies to senior dogs who needed extra patience, gentleness, and consistency. I’ve raised one dog through his puppy years and lovingly supported two others through their golden years, so I’m comfortable with training basics, routines, mobility changes, medications, and slower-paced walks when needed. Over the years, friends have trusted me with their dogs while they travel, and now that I have more space in my home—and a large, fully fenced yard—I’m excited to do this regularly. My dog, Ochosi, and I love getting outside for long walks and hikes, and I’m happy to tailor activity levels to each dog’s age, energy, and needs—whether that means an adventurous trail day or a cozy afternoon of cuddles. As a bonus, my roommate is also a longtime dog lover and former dog owner, so your pup will get extra attention and affection beyond just me and Ochosi. Between our household, your dog will be surrounded by care, play, and consistency while you’re away. As an empowerment coach, I work mostly from home, which allows me to be present with the dogs I care for throughout the day. I do have occasional workshops, classes, and client visits that take me out of the house part-time, but I always plan my schedule carefully so pups get plenty of attention, potty breaks, walks, and companionship. Whether caring for your dog in my home or yours, I focus on keeping routines consistent, energy balanced, and tails wagging. I tailor walks, playtime, and downtime to each pup’s age and personality—from adventurous hikes to gentle strolls and cozy evenings. With a big fenced yard for safe outdoor play, plenty of affection from me, Ochosi, and my dog-loving roommate, and regular photo updates for you, your dog will feel secure, happy, and right at home.
About: Hello my name is Jose but I rather be called JC. I’ve been a dog walker for 5 years now. I have two dogs so I know how to deal with more than one dog while walking around. I usually walk around my dogs around riverside or central park cause it open and has a lot of fresh air. I’m not used to house sitting but I'm willing to but a week in advance. I'm also not used to taking care of cats but if needed I will take care of only hypoallergenic cats. (just in case I'm allergic) I love animals of all shape and sizes and I'm looking forward to anyone that is looking for my services. 3 word to best describe me will be responsible, reliable, and punctual.
About: I have been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. Whether it was at my grandmothers house or down the street at the neighbors, I have always been the first one my loved ones call to feed, walk, and cuddle dogs, cats, and any other pet under the sun. I have been around animals my entire life, starting with frequently visiting & caring for my brothers dog when I was just 10 years old. I began pet sitting in middle school, and then this passion grew into my summers at college. I often watch my friends pets in the city when they’re away on trips & am now looking to expand my animal-loving world through Rover. I enjoy taking long walks through the parks, playing outside in the grass, discovering new games, balancing exercise with rest & treats, bathing & lots + lots of cuddles :) Currently I am working part time & remotely, so I have super open + flexible availability! Most of the work I do can be done on my own schedule, so I have plenty of time to make for your pet! Weekends are also generally a great time for me as well. I am happy to oblige to any house rules you may have for your furry friend! (ie on or off furniture, caging around bedtime, feeding/treat schedule etc.)
“Sara has been wonderful with Jett! She has cats of her own, so that really put me at ease. She is easy to communicate with and fast response which I really appreciate. She also sends pictures every check-in. I am thankful as I was first nervous about using this service.”

“Andrew takes great care of our 2 cats. He always replies quickly, was very thoughtful during our meet and when taking care of our cats. We have been away with peace of mind thanks to him”

“Tatiana was great with our puppy Hazel. She came on time, did everything we discussed and communicated throughout the visit with messages and pictures. Thank you so much Tatiana!!”

“Neil C is a very nice person who quite evidently cares deeply about dogs. He was very communicative, punctual and honest. We have a big dog, who can be quite single minded, but Neil took her in his stride. Thank you Neil, for your patience and time.”

“Randi was great! She Took care of our two cats while we were out of town for the week. She made sure to take photos and keep us updated with how they were doing the whole time!”

“We had such a great experience with Philsung! It was our first time booking him, and everything went so smoothly. He was super punctual, very friendly, and followed all of our instructions perfectly. He played with our three cats, sent lots of cute photos and updates, and kept everything clean (including scooping the litter). He’s also really easy to communicate with and made us feel totally at ease while we were away. Our cats clearly liked him too! We’ll definitely book with him again next time — highly recommend!”

“Nicole came highly recommended and I can see why! This was the first time I used a professional cat sitter and not just a friend to hang out with my kitties - she went above and beyond! She took good care of them, stayed extra, helped set up devices to ensure they had food via a timer and their toys were readily accessible: kitties seem happy and like they had a great visit. You can tell Nicole really loves animals and is so good with them. Thanks so much!!”

About: I recently said goodbye to my 18-year-old senior pup who was still as active and playful as when he was a puppy, even in his last weeks with us. I was his main caretaker since we adopted him when I was 10-years-old, so I have plenty of experience caring for dogs and prioritize keeping them safe and happy! We also had other dogs growing up, so I am used to caring for multiple dogs, dogs of various ages and sizes, and dogs of all energy levels. Specifically, as my doggo aged, I gained a lot of experience with medicine routines, slower walks, attention to health details, and all other requirements of caring for senior dogs. In college, I would housesit for families with all kinds of pets (including rabbits, geese and chickens!) and this helped me pay part of my school costs. However, I enjoyed caring for other's pets so much, I have continued to do so for years after college! I love getting to know new furry friends and making sure they are happy, exercised, well-fed, and enjoying themselves while their parents are away! I am currently working part-time, and often only for a few hours in the evening, so I have lots of time and flexibility to care for you pup, prioritizing being available for prime walking hours in the sunshine! I am willing to work around my part-time hours to meet your dog's routine needs. I am willing to care for the dogs in your home so they are comfortable in their own spaces and can generally keep their normal routines. I am flexible and willing to follow any instructions about your space that you provide.
“Erica is amazing! She really does treat your pet as if it were her own. She follows instructions and is always attention to every little detail. I would definitely recommend her. If I could give her 100 out of 100 stars I would!”

About: I’ve been around pets my entire life and have always had a deep love for animals. Growing up with pets taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and providing consistent care. I enjoy spending time with dogs of all sizes and personalities, whether that means going for walks, playing, feeding, or simply providing companionship. I understand that pets are family, and I will care for yours with the same love, attention, and respect that I give my own. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I am available for morning and evening walks, feeding visits, and check-ins throughout the week. I understand the importance of maintaining your pet’s routine and will ensure they receive the care, attention, exercise, and companionship they need while you’re away. My goal is to make every visit a positive and stress-free experience for both you and your pet. In my own home, I care for my Belgian Malinois, who keeps me active and has given me valuable experience with energetic dogs. I make sure she gets plenty of exercise through daily walks, playtime, and outdoor activities in our backyard. When caring for your pet, I will follow their routine closely, provide a safe and loving environment, and treat them with the same care and attention I give my own dog. I understand that every pet is unique and will tailor my care to their individual needs.
“Valerie is a wonderful person and care giver. My cat actually looked behind me for Valerie. My cuddles has never been interested in watching TV before. But Valerie found a channel on YouTube for him. She sent me pictures of him watching a cartoon fish program. She maintained his liter box and his feeding to perfection. It's no small feet to trust .”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
