Hi, I’m Maia! I can’t wait to meet you and your pet! I became a pet sitter because I’m an aspiring veterinarian currently in my third year of veterinary school. My journey with animals began at age seven with my first pets, a pair of chinchillas. Soon after, my family and I rescued a stray kitten who is now a beloved 18-year-old member of our family. Since then, I have rescued, fostered, and cared for animals with many different backgrounds and needs. This includes a shelter dog with a history of abuse who blossomed with love, patience, and consistency, as well as two stray kittens—one of whom became a “foster fail” and formed a special bond with our 103-pound dog. Today, I have two dogs and two cats of my own. One of my dogs is a former service dog in training who is now a very important pet, while the other is a rescue. Each of my animals has brought something unique to my life and taught me that every pet has their own personality, preferences, and needs. In addition to pet sitting, I work as a veterinary assistant caring for companion animals and exotics, and I have helped raise and train service dogs. I am also comfortable caring for senior pets, administering medications, and working with animals who may be shy, anxious, reactive, or simply in need of extra patience. My approach is calm, patient, and respectful. I give each animal the time and space they need to feel safe and comfortable while also providing plenty of attention, enrichment, playtime, and affection based on their individual preferences. I understand how important your pet is to you and how stressful it can be to leave them in someone else’s care. With me, they will receive the same love and attention I give my own, along with detailed updates and photos so you can feel confident that they are happy, secure, and well cared for while you are away.

Whether I am caring for your pet in your home or taking them for a walk, safety is always my priority. I carefully follow all feeding, medication, walking, and household instructions and keep pets secure when entering or leaving the home. I provide calm, patient, and personalized care based on each pet’s age, personality, medical needs, and comfort level. I pay close attention to changes in appetite, water intake, bathroom habits, mobility, energy, and behavior, and I will promptly communicate any concerns. I also provide detailed updates and photos so you know how your pet is doing while you are away. Whether it’s a walk, feeding, playtime, or some cozy downtime, I’m dedicated to making your pet’s time with me enjoyable and stress-free.

Maia was excellent. The cats loved her. She figured out all the entry and feeding instructions. She made sure to communicate with me. And went above and beyond to make sure my boys were cared for.

I’m always nervous booking a new sitter, but upon meeting Maia she was very friendly and professional and made me feel at ease. She took great care of our two cats and while we were on vacation and brought in the mail and watered our plants everyday. I will definitely book her in the future!

I’m currently working part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for and spend time with your pets. I do my best to accommodate each pet’s routine and your scheduling needs. Feel free to reach out with the dates and times you need, and I’ll be happy to let you know my availability!

- Daily Routine – Their usual feeding, walking, sleeping, playtime, and bathroom schedule. Medications and Medical Needs – Any medications, medical conditions, or special care needs, along with specific administration instructions. Allergies and Dietary Restrictions – Any allergies, dietary needs, foods to avoid, or restrictions on treats. Veterinary and Emergency Information – Their veterinarian’s contact information, an emergency contact, and your preferences if veterinary care is needed. Triggers and Behavioral Concerns – Any fears, triggers, history of reactivity, biting, or resource guarding. Social Preferences – How they behave around unfamiliar people, children, and other animals, and whether they prefer one-on-one time. Exercise and Physical Needs – Their typical energy level, exercise requirements, physical limitations, and preferred activities. Commands and Household Rules – Any commands, training cues, crate routines, or household rules they know. Walking and Travel Equipment – What leash, harness, collar, carrier, or other equipment they use and where it is kept. Escape and Safety Risks – Any history of door-dashing, escaping, hiding, or slipping out of a collar or harness. Comfort and Hiding Places – Their usual hiding spots and anything that helps them feel safe and comfortable. Restricted Areas – Any areas of the home or yard that are off-limits.
