“Yeisha did a great job with my four fur babies! I gave detailed instructions for feeding plus medications and supplements and treats which she followed to the 't'. The dogs loved her and I appreciated the daily pics ~ I would definitely use her again.”

“Bryant was excellent with my senior dog. He was incredibly experienced in terms of my dog’s specific needs, including diaper changes and being mindful of her dementia traits. He was also very communicative and offered multiple updates throughout the day.”

“Absolutely awesome! Great communication and was very understanding with my dog that has some unique quirks. I came back to an apartment that was as clean or better than I left it after Emily has watched Benji overnight for 6 days. 10/10 would recommend Emily!”

“Brianna is meticulous and well organized. Before the stay, she asked all the important questions so she didn't need to ask anything while we were away. She sent so many good pet photos and spoiled our beans and left the house nicer than it was when we left. She even saved our dying house plants.”

“Emoni took great care of Sof and came on last minute. I really appreciated her sending updates and being very communicative about Sofies needs. She was very patient with our senior pup and her quirks. Would definitely trust her with sof again!”

“Kaylamay was fantastic. She looked after our dog Killy over the Christmas period and sent us regular updates of how she was doing. Killy loved her stay-cation and we got to enjoy a stress free break. Would definitely use again.”

“Our pup found her newest BFF! Mo watched our dog for a week and we have nothing but positive things to say. She was communicative, kind, capable, professional, and above all extremely caring of our pup and space. We were able to fully enjoy our vacation knowing our girl was in the best hands. Thank you, Mo!!!”

“Kevin is a fantastic sitter! Great communication and he took great care of our four dogs and our home while we were away overnight. We look forward to working with him again.”

“Jason was so great with Gus! They became fast pals. He took special care of our older pup with ease and was very communicative throughout the stay. I would highly recommend him for any dog sitting needs!”

“Shariana took amazing care of our cats while we were away. She was very communicative and checked in regularly. She was super conscientious about our cats’ habits and needs. We felt confident that our cats would be happy and kept good company. She also left our apartment tidy and clean while she stayed at our place. Highly recommend trusting Shariana with your cats/pets.”

“I would highly recommend Asel as a pet sitter. She is considerate, responsible, reliable and wonderful with animals. Asel stayed in our home for 11 nights and took care of our dog and cat. Our cat is very easy, but our dog is a fairly new rescue who is a scared dog and often does not want to go outside for walks. Asel was very patient and bonded very quickly with both animals. She sent us pictures and updates every day during our trip. We came home to 2 very happy animals and our home was just as we left it!”

“Adeib was a great dog sitter! He stayed in my apartment and cared for my dog very well, following all instructions and communicating all throughout the stay. He welcomed my overly detailed instructions and sent pictures to updated me. I felt so confident that my dog was well cared for and would absolutely book him again!”

“Jasper and I had a great experience with Jeanette and I will definitely rebook! She was kind, knowledgeable and communicative throughout the process. She even offered to stay a bit longer when my flight was delayed. Thank you for going above and beyond!”

“Look no further for the best person to trust your fur baby with-Razan is simply the best! Super sweet, great communication, truly cares and is sure to put you at ease. Thank you again for everything 💗”

“Lauren was so great and easy! She came over for a meet and greet and followed instructions so well! We have two high energy dogs and we can home and could tell she took care of them as we would. Would definitely book again!”

About: I’m currently a mom to a 5 year old chiweenie who I’ve raised since he was 3 months old :) additionally, I’ve fostered dogs of all kinds and have become great at adapting to each dog’s individual needs. From puppies to seniors to special needs dogs, I’ve cared for them all. I am very flexible Friday through Monday. I work from home Mondays and Fridays, and I am home on most weekends and would be happy to care for your pup. My apartment is very safe and generally “proofed” for dogs. I have a crate for my own dog and am happy to crate your dog if needed.
“Drew has been our Go-To for a few years now. They are like clockwork with their updates. We have a very leash reactive tri-pawed schnauzer who Drew is able to handle. We also have a 17 year old schnauzer that has some special needs due to his advanced age. Drew is able to handle it all, meds and supplements for each dog, special feeding time care, etc. We can’t recommend them enough.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Melrose
Marine was absolutely amazing! We left our dog with her for an entire week, and she was incredibly professional from start to finish. She sent us daily updates with photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Our dog has some medical issues and can be a bit challenging, but Marine was extremely careful and precise with his medications and took excellent care of him. When we returned, our house was spotless, and it was clear that our dog had been well cared for and loved. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Marie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and caring dog sitter. Thank you, Marine!
Yeisha stayed at my apartment for a week while I was abroad and took great care of my Frenchie. She sent daily pictures, followed all instructions and was always quick to respond. She left my apartment clean and Millie enjoyed her time with her. Would definitely book again!

Once again here to sing Briana’s praises! My boyfriend & I haven’t been able to go on a proper date night since we got our puppy over a month ago - but knowing Briana was there to care for her made us feel so comfortable. We really needed a worry-free night out and she made that possible. Thank you Briana! 🤗

Jessica was an absolutely amazing caregiver to our 16 1/2 year-old pup! She housesat, and watched her for seven days - keeping us updated along the way, while being completely self-sufficient and amazing at problem-solving. We are so glad we found her and look forward to booking more of her care for our dog!

Summer was TRULY phenomenal. Our pups loved her from the start, and my wife and I were close behind! Summer was so professional, communicative, punctual, and thorough when taking care of our pups AND our apartment. We will EASILY be using Summer in the future. No notes. She was exceptional.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Melrose on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 19,082 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Melrose. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Melrose walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Melrose maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Melrose choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Melrose. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
