“Auredy came through when I needed it the most. I had a last-minute cancellation, and I was stressing about finding someone to watch Romeo. They bonded well; Romeo spent a weekend with other pups and made friends. I am very happy with the service.”

“Cooper has stayed with Nicole twice so far and the second time I bought him to her house, he ran inside. She seems to be very attentive and is incredibly responsive. We’ll definitely be staying here again! Thank you for the awesome experience for my dogs first boarding.”

“Thanks for another great stay for Teddy! He feels so welcome and loved in your home, it has become his second home! He truly loves being with your family and we love being able to travel knowing he is so well taken care of!”

“Sabrina was so attentive and caring. She took amazing care of my puppy. He just had a surgery and I didn’t have to worry about him at all during my trip. Thanks again”

“Karine was great with our elderly dog. She was taken care of in every way possible. We would definitely use her again. She and her husband definitely know how to meet the needs of our little old dog.”

“Charmaine is great!! Friendly, professional, great communication. Our 10-yr old chihuahua mix was in good hands and we received daily updates and photos, which were much appreciated!!! Thanks Charmaine!!!”

“Thank you Katherine for watching my little girl for the second time. I appreciate you sending me video clips on how my little lady was doing while I was away. I know she was in good hands. Thank you again! 😀”

“My miniature schnauzer had a great time with Rhinesca’s dogs, he seemed to be having the time of his life when they met, running around her yard. Daily communication and photos. We’d be happy to leave Tux with them again. Recommend!”

“Sally-Ann was an amazing caretaker for our dog Wallace. She was able to accommodate him on short notice and tend to a specific medical need that he had. She was extremely responsive and gave text and photo updates constantly. You can tell she really cares about the animals and goes out of her way to make sure they have a good time - she took our little guy to a beautiful park by the water.”

“Cooper always has the best time with Odin, Katherine and her hubby! And we enjoy our vacation knowing Cooper is having fun. Highly highly recommend Katherine! We will sure be back. Thank you so much!!!”

“Joanna took great care of Teddy. I loved that Joanna hosted another dog of similar size to play with him. She took many pictures and was always in contact with me. Teddy looked very happy and satisfied with his time with Joanna.”

“I am so glad l found Shaun! He was amazing with Blue. It’s pretty clear that Shaun has many years of experience taking care of dogs. He was very knowledgeable, kind, attentive and communicative. I received daily updates and photos-which l personally love. Thank you Shaun!”

“Yachen and Jarin are honestly the best dog sitters I’ve ever left my Milo with. I was provided with detailed updates every 3-4 hours with pictures. Yachen and Jarin were extremely considerate and loving to my boy. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. 10/10 recommend”

“Naomi took realy good care of Chicho and Kylie. They are healthy and seem relax. She was their taxi too. Did the pick up and drop off as schedule. She will definitely be our pet sitter next time.”

“Soshi absolutely adored her stay with Matthew! He is highly communicative and sent pictures throughout her stay. I completely forgot dog poop bags and he had them at home. He also let me know that another dog might come by (family) and his breed and temperament and if I think they would be ok or should be separated. My dog is pretty easygoing, but I appreciated the extra steps Matthew took to make me feel at ease. My dog did NOT want to leave the next morning! It feels great to know there is someone reliable nearby to watch my pup. He also put on Bluey for her in the evening! 10/10 experience and will be back for sure.”

“Alyssa went above and beyond in every way! She took amazing care of my older dog who has some health needs and a medication schedule. She provided my dog with lots of love, exercise, and time outside. She has an intuitive sense of when the dog needs something and was very in touch with how she was feeling. Alyssa also provided me with regular updates, with photos and videos, and I felt so good about leaving my dog with her for four nights.”

“John was great - Extremely responsive and kept me updated while my dog Ollie stayed with him. I gave so many instructions because Ollie has separation anxiety and John took them all very well. When I got Ollie back he was so calm and relaxed because John took such good care of him!”

“I booked Steve after a communication issue with the previously booked sitter very close to the holiday. It was a little nervewracking because he's new to the platform, but Steve was great with Sammy! When I dropped Sam off, he asked a lot of questions about his routines and behaviors and you can tell that he really cares about your dog's experience. He was good about sending pictures and details throughout our trip about how Sam was doing. He was even able to get Sam to play fetch a bit, which he never does! Dropoff and pickup were easy to coordinate. Even when we returned a bit later than anticipated, Steve was easy going about it. I picked up a very happy, rested pup! I'll definitely be using Steve again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pelham
Natalie was absolutely wonderful! She was able to dog sit Duke on very short notice, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She was reliable, caring and attentive. She kept me updated and made sure my dog was happy, comfortable, and well taken care of. Will recommend to anyone:)

Second time having Maria watch Didi, my older dog. Maria is fantastic - based on all of the updates and pictures, it feels more like Didi is on her own vacation and not just being watched. I so appreciate all of the attention and love she brings to her caretaking. She is a true gem!

William was great with our big puppy Diesel. During Diesel’s one week boarding William made sure to keep us updated and at ease with videos and messages. As a trainer, William also gave us feedback on the areas Diesel could use improvement in his training. We would definitely recommend William as a sitter for your four legged children.

Wilbur seemed happy during his visit with Nikki. Easy arrangement and communication with Nikki - would’ve loved more photos and updates each day - but just happy to see Wilbur was in good shape after the 6 days :) Their dog Scout was super happy to play with Wilbur so it was good companionship at Nikki’s house.

My dog, Roo, had a phenomenal stay with Leticia!! Leticia was very kind and friendly, and had a lovely and cozy home that I felt very comfortable with Roo staying at. Roo is a very finicky chihuahua with high anxiety and is an extreme velcro dog, and she bonded with Leticia without a problem! Roo also tends to go on hunger strikes while I’m away, but to my surprise and delight, she had no problems eating while at Leticia’s! Leticia sent lots of pictures and videos of Roo, which really helped my own anxiety with leaving Roo with a sitter from Rover for the first time. Overall, Roo was happy and healthy and I couldn’t have been more pleased! I would definitely recommend Leticia to anyone!!

Rhonda & her husband were gracious hosts to our dog for a couple of days. She was very communicative, checking in; getting clarification when necessary & sending great photos. My favorite was the one where she took her on a walk near the water - photo shows our dog with Rhonda, sitting on a bench with her head up - tongue out and laughing. Highly recommend!

Soshi absolutely adored her stay with Matthew! 10/10 experience and will be back for sure.

Kiara was amazing with our golden retriever Kona. She sent videos and updates every day from their walks and playtime in her large fenced in yard. Kiara’s policy of dog sitting only one at a time ensured he had love and attention. He came back relaxed and happy, not stressed out at all. Kiara herself is warm and friendly, interested in hearing about all your dog’s foibles, and obviously a calming presence to dogs. We are absolutely going to use her again!

Jasmine is a fantastic dog-sitter! She’s super responsive and communicative, and takes such good care of our dog, Daisy, that Daisy gets excited when she realizes she’s going on a “vacation”. I would highly recommend Jasmine to any pet parents looking for a responsible and caring sitter for their pet.

Terrific sitter! Loving, kind, sweet, professional and kept me up to date all the time! My cat is my favorite thing on earth and he’s never opened up to anyone as quick as he did to Fernanda. He was so cared for and loved and happy. Will definitely be booking with Fernanda again and would recommend 100%

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
