Experienced Loving Pet Sitter!

Experienced dog sitter/walker. -- Owners feel comforted knowing that I will be with your dog 24/7 while you're away (INCLUDING WEEKDAYS). I've been with Rover since Feb. 2017. The best part? -- I have become a member of so many pet families. I had to say a final farewell to my Boston Terrier, Harley, on July 27, 2021. I have been on hiatus from pet sitting since Dec 2019. The loss has led me back to Rover, as I miss having a pet to tend to and love. For nearly 14 years, it was just me and Harley. I still have lots of love to give, and would love to give them now to your pets. Your dogs will follow a solid (and FUN!) routine each day with meal time, play time, potty walks, indoor & outdoor exercise breaks, and so many other fun-filled dog activities. Boarding and Day Care includes basic training for dogs that they will benefit from - standard sit, paw, lay down command training.. Baths, if necessary. Massages for senior dogs. And any other requests your dog will need while they are in my care. ** Also have experience in giving insulin injections for diabetic dogs and cats. Additional Services: • Send daily updates of your pet along with photos/videos • Hugs and Kisses for your pet (as long as you and your dog allows) • Shop for food for your pet, if needed – includes picking up prescriptions. I work remotely from home. Your pets will have full access to my home as well as plenty of attention from me. Dogs will have 3 to 4 walks daily that will last 30 minutes to an hour (weather permitting), and lots of cuddles and play throughout the day. I enjoy tiring energetic dogs. I live in a 3 bedroom apartment (No Yard). Pets are allowed on furniture. I never have more than 3 pets in my care (this includes cats). I have dog beds (that are washed routinely) they are welcomed to use. You can bring your own as well. Access to clean filtered drinking water (changed throughout the day) at all times. There are no dangerous items laying around for them to get into. I use non-toxic cleaners and detergent on all surfaces and for wash.

Schedule

I work full time at home. I work around a solid schedule for walks, feeding time, play time, and sleep time in order to have successful days with little to no surprises. Dogs work like a well-oiled-machine when they're on regimented schedules.

Safety, trust & environment

I live in on the first floor of the apartment building. Easy access to going outside for walks. During walks, I walk far enough away from other dogs on the street. Even if your dog is friendly towards other dogs, I don't allow them to interact with stranger dogs during walks to lower the chances of any accidents. Once you have officially booked a stay, I only book other pets that will get along with your dog/cat. You may request a solo sit for an extra rate of $37 per night. For example, if your dog is timid and more reserved, I will only take in other dogs on those same booking days that have similar disposition to your dog. I will decline energetic dogs on those days. Safety and comfort are my first priorities for all pets and for myself.

Pets

A typical day

Day Care: Throughout the day, there will be playtime with me and/or amongst other dog friends. Afternoon, half hour to an hour walk (weather permitting). All natural organic treats (usually one ingredient) are given as rewards or if they just look really cute. Any special instructions should be typed/written out. Boarding: Will follow pet parent's written rules and guidelines. General Overview: there will be a first walk in the AM at 7AM (or earlier - depending on what time we get up) half hour walk. Breakfast follows. Another walk at 11:30AM or 12PM (an hour walk) (then Lunch for puppies that eat 3x a day). Dinner usually at 5:30 or 6PM, then another walk follows (15 to 30 min). Final quick pee is at 8 or 9PM before bedtime. Playtime, attention, and cuddles throughout the day.

Must know your dogs' level of temperament and if they have separation anxiety. I'll know how to prepare. Recently, I made arrangements with my landlord that I will no longer board dogs that bark regularly throughout the day and night. There have been too many complaints from neighbors. If your dog is an avid barker, unfortunately, we will not be a good match. It's really important to set up a Meet & Greet before sitting for your pet for the first time. Dogs behave differently when owners are not around so it would be helpful to give me a few minutes to assess your pet alone during our Meet & Greet. Owners must answer all questions honestly. Less chance of there being hiccups or surprises during their stay. If the pet shows to not be a good fit during their stay, I will work with the owners to either re-board them with another sitter or find another option. These cases are extremely rare. Also, please clearly indicate if your dog has any medical needs; prescription medication, dietary needs/restrictions and/or allergies. Once you and your pet(s) have officially become a client, I must have an emergency contact number (family member or friend), as well as your dog's vet number and address before the start of any service.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
