About: Hi, I’m a dog Mom to Ruben and Teddy. I have a cozy home for dogs who love companionship, comfort, and plenty of attention. I offer a safe, peaceful space with room to relax, play, and enjoy daily walks. I have experience raising and crate-training Ruben from puppyhood and Teddu was adopted as a rescue. I understand the importance of routines, patience, consistent use of language and special treats to build trust with dogs. I work remotely, which allows me to provide supervision, personalized care, and a calm environment where dogs feel comfortable, and loved. It would be my joy to help be a part of your dog’s care team! My days usually include 2–3 walks: 10-15 min around my quite neighborhood block, playtime: fetch, belly rubs etc, potty breaks on a leash in the back yard and lots of opportunities for dogs to relax and chill independently or cuddle with me. When coming inside from walks, I wipe down their paws and faces with dog-safe wipes. I often play calming dog music and am happy to continue routines from home, including favorite treats, chews, or comfort items you send along. I keep routines as consistent as possible. I only care for a small number of dogs at a time (no more than four), which allows me to give each pup personalized care if needed. My home has plenty of space for dogs to relax and move around inside, and a semi-fenced yard for supervised outdoor time. For safety, I use leashes for all outdoor activities and always keep a close eye on the dogs in my care. I also have a crate and separate areas available if a dog needs quiet time, a break from the group, or their own comfortable space. I especially enjoy caring for small and medium-sized dogs who thrive in a relaxed home setting and would love having Ruben a and Teddy as a friendly companion during their stay.

“Charmaine took a very good care of Teddy. She sent photos of him every day and shared what he was doing. Teddy looked happy and well cared for. I'd use Charmaine again. Thank you”

“Raymond and family took exceptional care of Teddy! We appreciated the daily updates, photos and videos. He received lots of attention and adjusted very well to this loving family. We highly recommend Raymond!”

“I am thrilled to leave a positive review. She did an exceptional job taking care of my cats while I was away. Each cat had their own private area and plenty of toys to keep them entertained. I came home to happy, well-cared-for pets. Her attention to detail and dedication to ensuring my cats' comfort and happiness were truly impressive . I highly recommend her services!”

“Joanna was great. Evie can be stressed / anxious and she managed to get Evie comfortable quickly and adjusted with the other dog who was boarding at the same time. Joanna sent regular updates and helped us feel comfortable the whole weekend!”

“My dog spent the best time with her for 10 days. He came home so happy. She’s excellent when it comes to communication, where she would send me my dog’s pics and videos every day. And she was punctual with my dog’s routine and did an amazing job with everything.”

“Such a great dog sitter for my Bella!! He was very active with my dog. Greatly appreciate the care you had for Bella. Definitely would want to come back. Thank you Travis!!”

“Sabrina was so attentive and caring. She took amazing care of my puppy. He just had a surgery and I didn’t have to worry about him at all during my trip. Thanks again”

“Auredy was absolutely amazing with my two pups, Wynter and Goose! She accepted my reservation on very short notice, and from the very beginning, she made the entire experience stress-free. Over the four nights they stayed with her, Auredy walked them twice a day, sent me plenty of photos and updates, and kept me informed about how they were doing every step of the way. Her communication was exceptional—she was always quick to respond and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. The pictures and updates showed just how much fun Wynter and Goose were having, and it was clear they were being treated with genuine love and care. When I picked them up, they were happy, relaxed, and clearly enjoyed their time with her. I would recommend Auredy without hesitation to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. She truly deserves a 10/10, and I will absolutely be booking with her again in the future. Thank you, Auredy, for taking such wonderful care of Wynter and Goose!”

“Christine took amazing care of our malti-poo puppy. She kept us updated on how he was doing throughout his stay and he came back to us happy, healthy and looking great! Highly recommend!”

“I’m so happy I found Emily! My dog tends to be pretty high energy and which makes me a little nervous. Emily was awesome— she communicated with me and sent me photos through out Harlem’s stay. He was very calm and well taken care of. I will certainly be booking again!!”

About: With 5 years of hands on experience working with dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments, I’m dedicated to helping dogs become confident, well mannered companions. I also hold a degree in K9 Training and Management from SUNY Cobleskill giving me both the practical experience and professional education to provide structured, effective, and personalized care. Pet care is a part of my everyday life. Outside of work, I continue to dedicate my time to dog training and boarding. I am completely available Friday and Saturday and am available every other day after 6pm! Because I have a supportive family that helps with my boarding program, each dog is consistently taken outside for potty breaks, exercise, and fresh air throughout the day. Dogs staying in my home have access to a fully fenced backyard where they can safely go out for potty breaks, exercise, and supervised play. Inside, I have a finished basement that provides a clean, comfortable, and climate-controlled space for dogs to relax, train, and rest. Every dog follows a structured routine that includes regular outdoor breaks, feeding according to the owner’s schedule, enrichment, and plenty of individual attention. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment where every dog feels at home.

Omar is awesome! We were admittedly nervous hiring a new sitter when our usual sitter was booked but Omar put our mind at ease. He was communicative, knowledgeable and provided updates, letting us know Koda was being well cared for. We could tell Koda was very happy and stress-free in the picture and video updates he provided. Would definitely book with him again, he is excellent!

Auredy was absolutely amazing! She took such great care of Kemba and kept me updated throughout the stay with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. My booking was very last minute, and she was still able to accommodate us without any issues. Knowing Kemba was in such caring hands made all the difference. I highly recommend Auredy to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive dog sitter. She is truly the best!
I had a wonderful experience with Shaun. He took such great care of our dog, keeping us updated with photos and messages, which gave us a real peace of mind while we were away. I am so thankful for the love and care he showed our dog. He was very dependable, thoughtful, and made the whole experience stress free. I would gladly recommend Shaun to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter!

We left our doggy again with this lovely family - who now have a baby who is also so sweet with Wilbur. We love them so much and love knowing Wilbur is being taken care. During the heat wave, they made sure to take special care (walking in the morning, ensuring AC is on) as our dog gets super hot outside.

Noelle was a fantastic caretaker for our dog, Dodger. She helped out last minute, watching him for the weekend. He usually gets a little stressed after car rides and being left with strangers but he warmed up easily. Noelle sent great pictures and updates during the weekend and we will definitely be reaching out to her again!

Alyssa was absolutely amazing! From the moment we met, I could tell she genuinely loves animals, and she took care of Peanut and Sprout as if they were her own. She kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. When I picked them up, they were happy, well cared for, and clearly received so much love and attention. It’s such a relief to find someone I can completely trust with my babies. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend Alyssa to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive pet sitter. Peanut and Sprout can’t wait to see her again, and neither can I! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my furbaby's first time being away from me for an extended period, so I was naturally a little nervous. From the very beginning, Evan made me feel at ease with regular updates, photos, and great communication. It was obvious my dog was well cared for, loved, and comfortable during his stay. Knowing my dog was in good hands gave me a peace of mind. I couldn't have asked for a better first boarding experience, and I would absolutely book with Evan again. Highly recommend!

Rover Review for Leon ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you're looking for someone to trust with your dogs, please read this. This isn't just another Rover review for us. For almost two years, my wife and I didn't take a single vacation. We used to travel six or seven times a year, but that all stopped after a tragedy changed our family forever. Our beloved 14-year-old Labrador Pit Bull mix, Cooper, stayed with a dog sitter we had trusted for nine years. Before we left, Cooper was happy, vibrant, and full of life. Aside from a little arthritis that comes with age, he was healthy. We had been playing with him before leaving for our five-day vacation, and there was absolutely nothing to suggest anything was wrong. When Cooper was dropped off at our home after we returned, we were told everything had gone great. The moment I took him out of the car, I knew something was terribly wrong. He could barely walk. We rushed Cooper to the veterinarian. Two days later, he deteriorated rapidly. We learned he had suffered a severe spinal injury, and on New Year's Eve we had to say goodbye to the glue of our family. Cooper wasn't just our dog. He was the heart of our home. He was the one who held everyone together. To this day, we'll never know exactly what happened because we were never given an explanation. That experience changed us forever. It left us with PTSD and a fear of ever leaving our dogs with anyone again. Anyone who truly loves a dog understands they aren't just pets. They're family. Losing Cooper devastated us, but it also devastated our chocolate Labrador, Chloe. She grieved his loss right alongside us. The house became quiet. The joy was gone. Almost a year later, after a lot of healing, we welcomed another chocolate Labrador into our family, Callie. Even then, we still couldn't bring ourselves to travel. The thought of leaving Chloe and Callie with anyone filled us with anxiety. Finding someone you can trust is one of the hardest things in the world. Everyone has great reviews. Everyone says the right things. But when your dogs are your family, reviews only go so far. Then we met Leon. From our very first meet and greet, something just felt different. I went by myself with Callie and Chloe so they could meet Leon. We spent a long time talking about dogs, life, and how he and his wife started Dog City. He shared stories about the dogs they've loved over the years, and you could immediately tell that caring for dogs wasn't simply a business to him. It was something he genuinely loved. Callie and Chloe immediately felt comfortable around him. Labs tend to love everyone, but I could tell they were relaxed, and that meant a lot to me. Even after that first meeting, I went home and thought about it for almost a month. That's how difficult this decision was. Finally, I told my wife, "I really want you to meet Leon. We have to get away. It's time." So we went back together for a second visit. She asked every question she wanted to ask, and Leon answered every one of them with patience, kindness, and understanding. We never told Leon what had happened to Cooper. We simply told him that our previous dog sitter had retired. He had no idea we were carrying almost two years of fear and heartbreak. Looking back now, I think that says even more about the kind of person he is. His compassion wasn't because he knew our story. It was simply who he is. A week later, we dropped Chloe and Callie off for a short four-day vacation—our first trip in almost two years. While we were away, Leon sent us pictures every single day. He stayed in touch throughout our trip, letting us know how our girls were doing and giving us something we hadn't felt in a very long time. Peace of mind. His home has a beautiful fenced backyard, but what impressed us the most wasn't the house. It was his heart. There is a huge difference between someone who watches dogs because it's a job and someone who genuinely loves them like family. Leon is that person. When we picked Chloe and Callie up, they were happy, healthy, relaxed, and obviously well cared for. Every toy, every dog bed, every leash, and every belonging we brought had been neatly packed and waiting for us. Leon greeted us with a huge smile and sincerely told us how happy he was that we had finally been able to get away and enjoy ourselves. That simple statement meant more than he'll probably ever know. Leon didn't just take care of our dogs. He gave us something we thought we had lost forever. He gave us back our trust. Leon may never realize it, but by simply being the caring, compassionate person he is, he helped us take the first step toward healing. Sometimes people change your life without ever knowing they did. If you're reading this because you're nervous about leaving your dog with someone, please know that I completely understand how you feel. I've lived through the nightmare every dog owner fears. That's why I can say this with complete confidence. I trust Leon with Callie and Chloe. For me, there is no greater compliment I could ever give another human being. Leon, thank you for treating our girls like they were your own. Thank you for your kindness, your patience, your communication, and, most importantly, your heart. Because of you, my wife and I were able to begin traveling again after almost two years. You didn't just take care of Callie and Chloe. You gave two people who had forgotten how to trust the confidence to start living again. We'll never forget that. Thank you, Leon. — Ralph & Vivian

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
