About: As a full-time teacher and lifelong dog lover, I’ve spent years caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. Friends, family, and coworkers often rely on me to board their pets, knowing they’ll be loved and well cared for while they’re away. I’m patient, responsible, and passionate about making sure each dog feels safe, happy, and at home. Whether your pup enjoys long walks, playtime, or cuddles, I’ll treat them like part of my family. I work full-time as a teacher, but I’m available for boarding on weekends, holidays, and school breaks. I dedicate my free time to caring for pets and make sure every dog gets plenty of love, attention, and outdoor time when staying with me. As a full-time teacher and lifelong animal lover, I’ve cared for dogs and cats my entire life. Friends, family, and coworkers often trust me to board their dogs or check in on their pets when they’re away. I recently rescued two kittens, adding to my experience caring for pets with different personalities and needs. I’m patient, responsible, and truly enjoy giving every pet the love and attention they deserve. Whether your pup needs playtime and long walks or your cat just needs a friendly visit, I’ll treat them like family. I offer a calm, loving home environment where your dog can feel safe and relaxed. I follow each pet’s normal routine and keep you updated with photos and messages while you’re away. While I can’t board cats, I’m happy to care for them in their own home—making sure they’re fed, comfortable, and given plenty of affection. Your pets’ happiness and safety are always my top priorities

About: He’ll there! My name is Jessica— an active, dependable pet caregiver currently working toward my credentials because your animals deserve someone who takes this seriously. I’m available middays, evenings, and weekends, and I happily offer home stays for pets who do best in a cozy, familiar environment. I’m based in the Co-Op city and love prioritizing neighborhood clients — there’s something special about being the trusted sitter on your block. I also serve the Southeast Bronx along the 5 and 6 train corridors, making me accessible to a wide range of families across the area. I’m strong and experienced handling larger dogs, and I welcome medically complex care — whether that means administering medication, managing special diets, or keeping a close eye on a senior or post-op pup. My community roots run deep, and that means you’ll always get honest communication, photo updates, and a sitter who truly cares. 🌻 Is important to me that a space is kept clean, and habits are the overtime to maintain a space and animal health. Forgetting to do a litter box, one day happens, but forgetting to do it constantly can lead to your pet killing a fungal infection, and having a lot of pain in the limbs they walk on. I like to take a systems thinking approach, and things like a few times a week and cleaning your space everyday and securing unsafe spaces is super important . I work in retail and the service industry so I would love to transition out of that soon as hour can be short or sparse this time of year and build my photography business. Taking care of pets and having pet models for my portfolio would be great as well as the time to be active and have fun as I focus on building these foundational skills. I’ve already done the hectic schedule of chasing shifts downtown for the last 2 years so if I could have slower days and have clients closer to me that would be great. To me a very successful play session involves observing the pet where they are,and how they interact because I am a guest in their space firstly, and giving them attention and love is my first priority. I don’t care that I may start out at a Lower rate or XYNZ is out of my pay grade. I’m not leaving a fecal mess or putting my headphones on, and turning Netflix and putting my feet up during a session because I can . The TV will always be there but the emotions and potential reactive response of a pet that might start biting plants or getting into stuff they shouldn’t —can lead to a permanent result. I want the pets I care to stay interested or at least rest and feel comfortable in their space and know that some one is there to feed them and respond to their needs or at least be willing to figure out what they need and not dismiss them. I have been trained by another company called Big City Wolf on proper dog handling and plan to get my animal CPR training this March and apply to work at the new ACS center in Coop city .

About: IMPORTANT NOTES: I screen all pets prior to care to ensure they are in good health and are up to date with their vaccines. Please note that Rover charges sitters a 20% fee to use the platform and my price reflects this. However, they charge owners an additional 11% fee that is calculated when you check out and is not included in my pricing. I run a small business from my home, which means I am able to give all my dog guests ample attention and time. It also allows me more flexibility to serve my customers’ schedules and any emergencies that come up. I live in a semi-suburban area of the Bronx in the first floor of a house with a small yard and a well-secured fenced. It is perfect for the dogs to play in, sniff about or even sunbathe. For safety’s sake, I monitor the dogs anytime they are in the yard. There is an external gate leading to the front door of my house, which I keep shut to prevent any dogs from running out unexpectedly. Finally, out an abundance of caution, I affix Apple airtags to the collars of all my guest dogs. In addition to two extra large crates, my home has The apartment is full of dog beds, including two “dens” in my closets. I also have multiple rooms and dog gates, which allows me to separate dogs if necessary. I ALWAYS feed dogs separately for safety. Pets are allowed on the couch but not on my bed. My shower is equipped for bathing dogs. I have two dog first aid kits (one in the house and a second in the car) and am familiar with dog first aid and CPR. I have extra pet seatbelts, harnesses if transportation is required, as well as extra collars and leashes for walks.

About: I’ve had my two cats for about three years now, and we’ve built a routine together around feeding, playing, sleeping, and everything in between. Every day when I walk through the door, they’re the first two to greet me. I make sure they’re always fed, clean, hydrated, well cared for, and most importantly, safe. I work full time during the week, so I’m generally unavailable during the day, but I’m usually free in the evenings after work and have full availability on weekends. I live in a two-bedroom, ground-floor apartment with a private, enclosed patio where my cats can safely explore outdoors without the risk of escaping. We also have an extra bedroom set up so they have their own space and time when they want it.

About: My love of dogs led me to start a dog walking business when I was only 10 yrs old. Once I finally convinced my parents to get a dog, I was 15 and we ended up with two bichon-malteses who were the loves of my life. As an adult, my career has me traveling frequently so I haven’t become a pet owner, but I continue to dogsit for friends and neighbors because I love the companionship when I’m home. I am committed to providing your dog a comfortable home away from home where they will be well cared for and loved. I work from home Mondays and Fridays so can be available for care for a long weekend (Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon). My availability may be limited based on work travel. I live in a dog friendly building, where there is greenery and walking paths around the building for daily walks and enjoy going for longer walks in nearby parks.

FAQs for House Sitting - Eastchester

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Eastchester on Rover is $51.06 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 19,029 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Eastchester. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Eastchester walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Eastchester maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Eastchester choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Eastchester. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
