“Kamryn is FANTASTIC! Our 80 pound Lab Whitby absolutely loves her and was sad to see her go. We highly recommend Kamryn for house/dog sitting and hope to have her back again this summer!”

“Jorge is the best! My girls were so well behaved on our first walk when returning home! He is like a Dog whisperer! I can tell he took great care of them and we will definitely use him again!”

“This is our second time rebooking Tenielle. Tenielle house sat for us for three weeks (we were getting married and going on honeymoon) and Tenielle was so responsive in taking our dog Sal out for walks, she sent pictures and kept us updated on her the whole time! We unexpectedly missed our flight and supposed to come home but had to stay an extra day and Tenielle was able to stay for one more day, which we were so grateful for. She tided up before she left and I highly recommend Tenielle as your dog sitter! Thank you Tenielle!!”

“Antonio was a wonderful babysitter for my two puppies. One of my dogs has severe separation anxiety, and Antonio was incredibly attentive and patient with him. He kept me consistently updated throughout the day, was very communicative, and shared plenty of pictures, which gave me great peace of mind. At the end of the visit, he even offered helpful tips that I truly appreciated as a first-time dog owner. I would absolutely recommend him.”

“Dawn and her son Adam were professional and fabulous from our very first communication with them about house- and dog-sitting for us. Adam and Finn took to each other immediately, we felt entirely comfortable leaving Finn in Adam’s capable hands, and it was obvious to us upon our return that Adam had taken immaculate care of both Finn and our home for the week we were away. We look forward to having Adam come back to stay with Finn soon. Thank you both so much!”

“Bryant was excellent with my senior dog. He was incredibly experienced in terms of my dog’s specific needs, including diaper changes and being mindful of her dementia traits. He was also very communicative and offered multiple updates throughout the day.”

“Once again we came home to happy dogs. We received lots of photos and updates, so we knew the dogs were doing well. This was our second time having Ana and Arjun come over to take care of George, and this time they took care of our grand dog Billie. They said george recognized them immediately, it’s nice to know we have such wonderful dog sitters! I highly recommend Ana and Arjun!!”

“Theo did an excellent job taking care of our cats. We booked him to house sit our two cats while we were away for nine days. He followed all of our instructions, and we came home to happy cats. He has a deep understanding of cat psychology, and he spent a ton of time interacting with our cats. We really appreciate him going above and beyond and will be booking him again!”

“Danni is AMAZING!!! So caring she will literally treat your pup like an actual child. Engaging, thoughtful and attentive. I would trust her to watch my human children if I had them. She is literally a real life Disney princess! I will be booking her again soon. Thank you Danni!”

About: I have had my own pets since I can remember ranging from cats, dogs, iguanas, hamsters, fish, salamanders, hermit crabs, and even chicks. Growing up, I spent my summers on my grandfather's farm raising cows, horses, pigs, cats, dogs, chickens and a rooster. I don't have and human kids but I have raised many fur babies. I am the go-to person for family and friends, especially for pets with very specific care instructions. I am in NYC; I drive and have a pretty flexible schedule at this time. My career outside of pets includes Human Resources Management and Operation Director at different schools. I am currently working for myself as a treat maker so I am very flexible with time. I also have a clean license and reliable transportation. I am currently in NYC but can travel to Westchester County and northern NJ as well. I love when a client gives me detailed instructions and will follow them to a tee. I am a very organized person with a high attention to detail who often goes above and beyond in everything I do. Because I have worked with children and at schools, I have been fingerprinted by NYS/NYC, Dept of Health and the NYC Dept of Ed.
“Arianna was great! She was communicative throughout the stay, sent regular photo updates, and took great care of Watson. Everything went smoothly, and I’d definitely book with her again.”

About: I’ve had welcomed my first pet ever when I was 10 years old , then in 2012 I’ve have welcome another fur baby to the family . Being around my own personal pets made me love doing dog sitting a lot more so starting in 2013 I’ve decided to volunteer and also become employed with the services of onboarding , dog walking , etc . I love doing my job when it comes to pets because I think of them as my own. I am currently working Monday - Friday but my schedule is also very flexible. I am free on the weekends if services are needed as well. When caring for your pets in your home or my home they are well taken care of between any medications, a routine that they follow I will make sure that while your away they will be left in great hands .
“Yazmine was the absolute best!! She took care of my puppy, who is cute but also a puppy. She kept me abreast of what was happening, helped come up with a strategy to help him sleep in his crate, and played with him endlessly. I could not have asked for a better partner. Thank you!”

“Darianny was reliable and communicative, which are the 2 attributes we most appreciate. Finn was in good spirits when we returned. Would not hesitate to use Darianny in the future.”

“Lesly is the best!!!!! I’m so glad we found her. Our boys are normally very slow to warm up to new people but with Lesly, they were cuddled on the sofa and playing within minutes. She left our home spotless and was so attentive to our boys’ needs. We hope that she’ll be a regular sitter for us!”

She sent updates on how he was doing throughout the night to keep our minds at ease, and she was extremely understanding and patient when he had an accident before we left. We highly recommend Ellie to anyone looking for a pet sitter in the area!”

Farrah exceeds expectations in her responsibility, kindness, consideration and overall attitude. She took wonderful care of our two elderly dogs giving us lots of pictures and updates. We felt completely relaxed and confident that they were getting walks, meals, medication and affection. Thank you Farrah! Jack and Natalie

Lina was absolutely wonderful. We were on a vacation far away and very worried about our aging dogs. She took wonderful care of of them, sent pictures, and kept in close touch. It was very comforting to know our dogs were happy while we were away and we could see it in their faces. Lina generously provided extra TLC and the dogs seem to respond to her genuine care for them. Thank you so much, Lina. It’s wonderful to meet you and we will call you again for sure.

Samantha is a wonderful dog-sitter! She took great care of our senior pups over a weekend at our home. She updated us regularly on how they were doing by both text and photo. She left the house in good order. The pups are happy to see us but not unduly stressed. I’m glad she was available and would definitely use her again.

This is our second time using Adam. My dogs were very excited to see him return. I have 2 very high drive, competition dogs who need a lot of stimulation and exercise. They also have special diets. Adam had everything under control. House was spotless when we returned. Highly recommend Dawn/Adam.

Christian was great with our pup! He stayed with her for most of the time we we're gone and was really flexible with the arrangements. He came by a week prior to get to know our dog and understand her routines. Our dog immediately liked him and felt comfortable around him which was a great sign. While he was watching her, Christian walked her and kept her company. He provided periodic updates with photos and we felt comfortable knowing he was there with her. Thank you Christian!

We had a wonderful experience with our dog sitter while we were away. Maria was incredibly responsible and attentive, making sure our dog was well cared for and happy the entire time. We especially appreciated the daily photos and updates—she gave us real peace of mind. On top of that, we came home to a very well-kept house, which was such a nice touch. Highly recommend!

Melisa was an amazing dog and house sitter! Frankie loved her and felt comfortable with her immediately. She communicated consistently, letting me know when she walked Frankie, that he did his business, and that he ate. She even sent adorable photos of him cuddling with her, which gave me so much peace of mind. Melisa left my house absolutely impeccable, watered my plants, and brought in my packages as well. I’m so excited to have found such a caring and responsible person, and I will definitely be booking her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Tuckahoe on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 18,637 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tuckahoe. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tuckahoe walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tuckahoe maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tuckahoe choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
