“Dali was amazing! She was super responsive and made time before the visit date to see my cats! During the drop-in visit, she took a lot of pictures of them and sent me reports about her visit and how they were doing. I could tell she was committed to paying full attention to my cats! We’d definitely ask Dali next time we need a pet sitter :)”

“Your search is OVER !!!!! Karen is the person you need to take car of your cat. She was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and very very sweet. We received daily photos and a detailed description of how our cat was. We will definitely be asking for Karen’s help again in caring for our cat !!!!!”

About: I have had my own pets since I can remember ranging from cats, dogs, iguanas, hamsters, fish, salamanders, hermit crabs, and even chicks. Growing up, I spent my summers on my grandfather's farm raising cows, horses, pigs, cats, dogs, chickens and a rooster. I don't have and human kids but I have raised many fur babies. I am the go-to person for family and friends, especially for pets with very specific care instructions. I am in NYC; I drive and have a pretty flexible schedule at this time. My career outside of pets includes Human Resources Management and Operation Director at different schools. I am currently working for myself as a treat maker so I am very flexible with time. I also have a clean license and reliable transportation. I am currently in NYC but can travel to Westchester County and northern NJ as well. I love when a client gives me detailed instructions and will follow them to a tee. I am a very organized person with a high attention to detail who often goes above and beyond in everything I do. Because I have worked with children and at schools, I have been fingerprinted by NYS/NYC, Dept of Health and the NYC Dept of Ed.
“Bella was the perfect sitter for my baby while I was away. I was never worried about her in the slightest and it was such an amazing piece of mind to know that Bella had her in good hands. I can’t recommend her enough!”

“Jessica took great care of midge and got adorable photos of her so we knew she was okay! Grateful for the care and the check-ins as our sweet kitty is a love bug and needs snuggles when we're out 💞”

“Lizette was wonderful with our 2 kitties. She really took the time to let them start getting to know her. She is very caring and communication was clear and easy. Highly recommend and hope to have her back to care for them again!”

“Jorge took great care of my babies while I was away for Thanksgiving! He is very thorough and responsible and even took time to play with them with their favorite toy. Five stars!”

About: Hello! I’ve been in the pet care industry for 3 years professionally, and almost my whole life personally through friends and family. I’m an animal lover, and I’m ready to meet some new friends! I used to service dogs in East Midtown and have experience with many breeds and temperaments. I also own cats and have worked professionally as a cat sitter in Chelsea/Downtown. I recently moved to the area and can offer walks, sittings, and boarding. We can set up a free meet and greet to see how we can work together to help your companion thrive. I work 10am through 6pm Monday-Friday for walks, extra charge for anything outside of that time frame and weekends/holidays. Inquire about sittings/boardings. Safety is always my priority when it comes to any sort of service. I follow any given instructions and communicate with the parents if I have any questions/concerns. I’m also CPR certified.
“Elisa was a wonderful sitter for our two kitties. I greatly appreciated the extra effort she took to work with us when our schedule changed due to bad weather. And I know Jack enjoyed getting a little play time!”

“Kristine took amazing care of my cat Meatball this past weekend. She followed my crazy cat lady instructions to the T, and sent detailed care summaries, along with pictures. She also left cat tv on for my boy so he wouldn’t feels so alone :). 11/10 recommend!”

About: My 3 kids and I run a small business caring for animals mostly dogs. All 3 are in their 20’s. My son, Adam does most of the walks and house sitting, I handle the boarding. My reviews are not only for me but for my boys as well. I come from a long line of animal lovers and grew up with many dogs, cats, birds, hamsters. Animals are my life! They offer unconditional love and rely on us to give them love, affection and to meet all of their basic needs. I own my own home on a private dead end street. When your fur babies are here, they are part of our family and are never left alone. There is always someone at home. My mission is to make sure all pups in my care, feel safe, loved and happy. I recently left my job in the medical field. I’m spending my time now with my adult children and my dogs. Life is too short to not do what you love everyday Safety is a priority in my home and I live on a private street with only two houses so there is absolutely zero traffic here

“Wendy is the best! She is super nice and will make sure you have no worries at all when leaving your family member in her amazing care. This is our second sitting with her and we are very happy with everything she has done. 11/10! Looking forward to many more future sittings! Thank you Wendy!”

About: I have three dogs of varying ages who I help care for daily. I also have pet sitting experience as well as shelter volunteering! I generally just love dogs and I understand that they are part of the family and require love and responsible care, especially when their people are away :) I am volunteering part time at a hospital, so I have plenty of availability on both week and weekends to care for pets and house sit! I can follow whatever preferences the home owner likes to make the pet sitting experience as smooth and comfortable as possible! I just want your babies to feel safe and loved!
About: We are a family of animal lovers. We have a 10-year old Husky mix and an 11-year old long haired cat (but both stay in other parts of the house). Every time we go away we struggle to find trustworthy people to care for our pets and decided we want to help others in need. I work from home and my office is in the petsitting area so I get to spend all day with the pets and take care of anything they need. Our finished basement is sectioned off from the rest of the house and the pets have ample space to play inside, as well as a 1/2 acre fenced-in yard for their exercise!
“As a repeat client of Colleen’s I can say that she cares so much about the pets she cares for! She is always on time and spends quality time with my 16 year old cat, who loves her. Thanks so much Colleen!”

She was very responsive with daily updates and pictures. Thank you Ana and we look forward to booking again with you in the future! :)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Tuckahoe
She was amazing! She did everything exactly as requested, including changing the pee pads, refreshing Oreo’s water, cleaning up after him, giving him his lick mat, and spending time playing with him. She also kept everything clean and followed all of my instructions perfectly. I really appreciated the care and attention she gave Oreo, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in good hands. I would definitely book her again and highly recommend her!

We regularly have Kristine watch our two cats. She is amazing and we are so lucky to have a caring person come take care of them when we need it. She regularly leaves notes upon check ins and reaches out for any clarification. She is absolutely the best! I know our boys are in great hands with her checking in on them.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
