As we are new to the area and building new community, Lucas was a godsend caring for our extra-large pups in our absence. He was communicative, trustworthy, followed through with everything we needed (including administering meds with a last minute ailment!), and most of all, cared for our dogs just as we would! Thanks Lucas!

About: Dearest Pet owners, My name is Annabelle and I have had a passion for animals since I was 6, and specifically for dogs. My aunt runs The Good Dog Foundation, hence I have been fortunate enough, since a young age, to deal with all breeds of dogs, rescued or bought, obedient or less; and so forth. I feel I have a special connection to dogs, in particular. I most definitely spend more time with dogs than humans. I talk to my dogs, walk with them, run with them, go to the country house and go on hikes with them. I strongly believe in being outside as much as possible, and feeding my dogs the most healthy food. I do also believe in sharing my surroundings with them, meaning i let my dogs go on my bed, and sofa. Though no begging at the table is allowed, and I have fix hours they are fed, I believe in routine. They are like children. They need a lot of love. This is what I will be providing for your dog. Sincerely, Annabelle P.

About: IMPORTANT NOTES: I screen all pets prior to care to ensure they are in good health and are up to date with their vaccines. Please note that Rover charges sitters a 20% fee to use the platform and my price reflects this. However, they charge owners an additional 11% fee that is calculated when you check out and is not included in my pricing. I run a small business from my home, which means I am able to give all my dog guests ample attention and time. It also allows me more flexibility to serve my customers’ schedules and any emergencies that come up. I live in a semi-suburban area of the Bronx in the first floor of a house with a small yard and a well-secured fenced. It is perfect for the dogs to play in, sniff about or even sunbathe. For safety’s sake, I monitor the dogs anytime they are in the yard. There is an external gate leading to the front door of my house, which I keep shut to prevent any dogs from running out unexpectedly. Finally, out an abundance of caution, I affix Apple airtags to the collars of all my guest dogs. In addition to two extra large crates, my home has The apartment is full of dog beds, including two “dens” in my closets. I also have multiple rooms and dog gates, which allows me to separate dogs if necessary. I ALWAYS feed dogs separately for safety. Pets are allowed on the couch but not on my bed. My shower is equipped for bathing dogs. I have two dog first aid kits (one in the house and a second in the car) and am familiar with dog first aid and CPR. I have extra pet seatbelts, harnesses if transportation is required, as well as extra collars and leashes for walks.

Kameryn was absolutely amazing! She came over to do our meet and greet and was so easy going when she met our boys, who are super energetic! She asked a ton of questions, that even I hadn’t thought about. When asked about her dog experience, I was comforted in knowing she had experience with larger dogs as mine are two 62# hounds with tons of energy! She came over as agreed and immediately went to work taking care of the dogs, playing, feeding and even working with them on their training commands. She kept us updated with tons of photos and to my pleasant surprise, she gave us an end of day summary of how the day went. She was very considerate with keeping us updated if she had to leave and even with minimizing the communications, if needed. This was the first time I had left our dogs with someone and not had to really worry how they were doing and if they were being treated well. They absolutely loved her! If you’re looking for someone to take care of your babies, I highly recommend hiring Kameryn! She is an absolute angel and truly a God-send! Will definitely be hiring her again!

Rochelle was absolutely wonderful, and we couldn’t have asked for a better dogsitter. She came by before the sitting to meet us, get familiar with our pets, and learn her way around the house. Since we weren’t home, we arranged her arrival in advance, and everything worked perfectly. She was completely comfortable finding her way around the house and handled all of our pets with confidence and care. It was clear from the start that Rochelle is responsible, professional, and genuinely loves animals. She took excellent care of our pets, kept everything in order, and somehow even left the house looking nicer than when she arrived! We can highly recommend Rochelle. Her friendly nature, professionalism, reliability, and the wonderful care she gave our pets gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We would absolutely have her sit for us again!

About: I’m reviving my Rover profile from pre covid! I have over 10 years of animal care experience and am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities. I work full-time in property management, but my flexible schedule often allows me to bring dogs with me throughout the day. I love walks, playtime, and giving dogs plenty of attention and care. I’ll treat your pets like my own! 🐶❤️ I work full-time doing property management in New Rochelle. My schedule is super flexible, so I can still keep some company, like your fur baby. I live with my grandparents, who have a large private yard. My workplace has a pet park on the roof and a pet-friendly cafe on the street. Perfect place for pup cups!

I’m not kidding, I’m tempted to gatekeep but won’t because Alyssa deserves all the love and dog jobs in the world. Seriously, best dog sitter ever. Thoughtful, sent daily summaries and photos, my reactive dog was so HAPPY!!! I feel truly lucky to have found her. 10/10. She is the best. Will rebook again and again and again as long as she wants to keep watching pups.

Karen was fantastic! She took great care of our 4-year old mini Goldendoodle for two weeks with tremendous patience and insight. He’s not the easiest dog, and Karen was very good with him and sensitive to his reoccurring IVDD. As a dog trainer, she worked on his commands and we have noticed an improvement in his behavior. She showed us the strategies she uses to help with his reactivity as well as his resource guarding. She truly cared about our dog. We hope to use Karen again in the future to take care of our pooch. I highly recommend Karen as a dog sitter and trainer!

Christian was great with our pup! He stayed with her for most of the time we we're gone and was really flexible with the arrangements. He came by a week prior to get to know our dog and understand her routines. Our dog immediately liked him and felt comfortable around him which was a great sign. While he was watching her, Christian walked her and kept her company. He provided periodic updates with photos and we felt comfortable knowing he was there with her. Thank you Christian!

Kameryn is wonderful, the whole package - responsible, professional, caring, and thorough. I trust her completely. Our senior dog was a few weeks posh orthopedic surgery. Though fully healed, he’s still not back to his normal self 100% so needless to say we were nervous to leave him on our already planned vacation. Kameryn’s care allowed us to enjoy our time away- navigating his “special needs” and instructions, meds, and even a broken toe nail that occurred (bloody mess!)— all seamlessly. She not only followed all our instructions but also intelligently problem solved when needed. Kameryn sent daily updates and kept us well informed. Like many, our dog is our first baby and growing old— it made me anxious to leave him but I didn’t worry because he was in such good hands. I highly recommend and will be using Kameryn again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Larchmont

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Larchmont on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 18,881 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Larchmont. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Larchmont walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Larchmont maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Larchmont choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Larchmont. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
