“This was our first time hiring someone to stay with our pup and Andrea was a godsend! Not only was she amazing with our dog, but she was in constant communication with us while we were away. We felt comfortable having her in our house and know that our dog had the BEST time with her. Any time we travel we are booking Andrea!”

“We were fortunate to have Dana house sit for us on relatively short notice. She watched our 13 year old dog and 2 cats. We received updates and came home to some happy pets and a tidy house.”

“Tenielle watched our 3 dogs, who can be a handful. One older grumpy dog and 2 young high energy working dogs. She was fantastic with them all. She also has excellent communication and is prompt and informative with picture updates. Will definitely be using her again.”

“I’m not kidding, I’m tempted to gatekeep but won’t because Alyssa deserves all the love and dog jobs in the world. Seriously, best dog sitter ever. Thoughtful, sent daily summaries and photos, my reactive dog was so HAPPY!!! I feel truly lucky to have found her. 10/10. She is the best. Will rebook again and again and again as long as she wants to keep watching pups.”

“Have had Nicole housesit twice with us. Each time she is prompt, extremely communicable, and able to navigate not only complicated instructions for each of our two dogs, but also how complicated our house is with codes, alarms and construction workers. She looked after my middle-aged slow Bichon who needs constant food and attention and our new rescue dog who is 10lbs of energy and desperate to escape. She handled them both with grace and sent lots of pictures and videos. I am happy to know I don't have to worry now when I travel!”

If I’m in your home, I ensure everything remains as you left it, with added attention to your pet’s safety and well-being. In my home, I provide a cozy, safe space where your pet will get plenty of affection and care. My goal is for your pet to feel like they’re with family, wherever they are.
“Hannah watched over my 10-wk old puppy part time for 3 days. She asked to meet ahead of puppy sitting to understand the routine. She was very punctual, reliable, and was also sweet, snuggled with the puppy. I was glad to learn she is local, so I plan to book again in the future.”
“Joe was not kidding when he said he will be your dogs “new best friend”! My pup loved him! They went through a heat wave together and Joe was very careful to make sure Harry was hydrated and happy even in the extreme heat. Joe sent lots of pictures so I knew that Harry was well cared for. Highly recommend!”

“We had the pleasure of hiring Tara to house and puppy sit for us for a week while we went on a vacation. Tara was terrific. She is a mature and responsible young woman who I highly recommend. Tara is very knowledgeable about dogs as she works at a Vet hospital. Tara is warm and friendly and is very accommodating. We were stuck for an extra day on vacation due to bad weather and she took care of everything. She communicates well. Gave us regular reports and photos. We will hire her again.”

“Aaliyah was wonderful! She stayed in our home with our 6 month old puppy for a week while we were away. Pepper loves her and Aaliyah stayed in constant communication with us while we were gone. She sent us updates and photos everyday. She was also extremely respectful to our home and we will absolutely use her again.”

“Melissa was wonderful with our dog and cat! Our dog can be pretty anxious, but she was so comfortable around Melissa! She provided lots of updates and was super clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend!”

“We had some last minute changes because I got sick and Brandon was super flexible and responsive. He’s great with our dog and our dog adores him. He takes him on long walks, very on top of food, water and medication. Took excellent care of the house as well.”

“We had a wonderful experience with our dog sitter while we were away. Maria was incredibly responsible and attentive, making sure our dog was well cared for and happy the entire time. We especially appreciated the daily photos and updates—she gave us real peace of mind. On top of that, we came home to a very well-kept house, which was such a nice touch. Highly recommend!”

“JJ was awesome with our pets. Lots of love and attention for our dog and cat plus the house was taken care of. Will definitely book again on our next trip. Thanks JJ for all your help!”

“Catie did an amazing job house sitting for us and administering oral meds for our senior cat while we were away for 10 days. We felt very comfortable with her and knew our Lily was in caring hands—came back to a happy, healthy cat and spotless home! Thank you Catie!”
“Dawn and her son Adam were professional and fabulous from our very first communication with them about house- and dog-sitting for us. Adam and Finn took to each other immediately, we felt entirely comfortable leaving Finn in Adam’s capable hands, and it was obvious to us upon our return that Adam had taken immaculate care of both Finn and our home for the week we were away. We look forward to having Adam come back to stay with Finn soon. Thank you both so much!”

“Shannon is a responsible, kind and trustworthy caretaker of Ziggy, our doodle. She was very attentive of Ziggy, helpful in preparing his meals (which involves cooking), and sent me plenty of updates. Ziggy is not a dog who trusts easily, but he loved Shannon from the get go. Shannon stayed at my house for a few nights and was a lovely house guest. I am relieved to have found her and cannot say enough great things about her!”

Jennifer did a great job watching our dog while we attended funeral services for a beloved family member. Jennifer figured out quickly how to best care for our dog and it was a relief for us. She was very accommodating and positive. I will definitely contact Jennifer again when we are in the area. Thank you Jennifer!

Jasmine was terrific! Our boy Jack is a big insecure baby. He took to Jasmine right away. We went away for the first time able to leave Jack in his favorite environment, home. We got a photo everyday and correspondence on what was going on. Felt very much in touch. Thank you Jasmine. We will hopefully be able to book with you again soon.

Marcela was the best care we could have hoped for for our dog and cat during a long weekend! She was extremely communicative, went out of her way to make us feel comfortable, sent photos and updates several times per day and took gentle care of our pets (especially during July 4 fireworks). We can’t wait for Marcela to stay with our girls again and are very grateful we found her!

Thoughtful, sent daily summaries and photos, my reactive dog was so HAPPY!!! I feel truly lucky to have found her. 10/10. She is the best. We have used Gabriela’s services prior to this time. She continues to make us feel relaxed when we are away knowing our Jax in good hands. She has a caring, thoughtful and gentle mannerism which is good for Jax. He is in his senior years so gentleness is key for his well being. Gabriela is a responsible sitter and took very good care of our home. I would strongly recommend using her services.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Harrison walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Harrison maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Harrison choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Harrison. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
