Pet care experience
Experienced w special needs 💗
Hi! I'm a full-time professional pet sitter with 4+ years of experience caring for 100+ animals with many special needs, and many repeat clients. I'm also a certified dog trainer, and I always try to reinforce good habits to help all the dogs I meet be a little better adjusted to their human-centered lives, especially when their humans are away. I have been petsitting full-time since early 2023 and love it. I work from home and have a flexible schedule to dote on your best friend(s)! I grew up in a home full of animals (dogs, cats, fish, hamster, guinea pig, bird!) and I've had dogs for almost my whole adult life. After my senior dog passed away in 2022, I decided that while I'm not ready to get another dog, I will seek out time with every furry creature that will acknowledge my existence! My previous dog was a rescued pittie who had some behavior issues when I got her, and I did tons of training with her, so I feel confident I can add value for your dog being better behaved than when you left. She wasn’t reliably great with all dogs so am used to navigating the challenges of dogs who can be reactive on leash. She also had a couple chronic health issues (esp with skin allergies) throughout her life and I gave her countless medications over the years, so I feel very comfortable with that. The last year or so of her life she was definitely a senior doggie with lots of issues (vestibular disease, canine cognitive decline) I dealt with from helping her up and down stairs to finding creative ways to play when she couldn’t do the things we did when she was younger, so I (unfortunately) would feel comfortable navigating the challenges of senior doggies. I also love cats too! I grew up with cats and have petsat for many, ranging from cuddle bugs to semi feral to potentially aggressive (though she doesn’t try to attack me anymore)! By now I have petsit for quite a few special needs animals, who trained me well! I regularly cared for a senior dog with diabetes, so I am comfortable giving insulin shots. I also watched a dog who was essentially in hospice care. I spent 3 weeks taking care of a cat with asthma and another month with a cat to whom I administered chemotherapy, and I have excellent testimonials from all of their humans. I love being active and going on long walks, but I’m also happy to be a couch potato if I’ve got a furry friend keeping me company. A few years ago, I spent 6 months dogsitting in Mexico for 3 dogs rescued off the street who were not housebroken or trained when I got there but were transformed by the time I left. I spent 3 years volunteering at the San Francisco SPCA as a dog adoption counselor and dog walker and have had dogs almost my whole life, including for 17 years of my previous dog. I’ve also done years of advocacy work for animals, including helping to pass laws in 4 states to protect farmed animals, and I’ve been vegan for 20+ years (but understand if your dog has a different diet than I do!). I am new to Rover, but Daiya, Spanky, Kiwanis, Laurie, Ollie, Rasta, Jerry, Rudy, Charlie, River, Louie, Giles, Druscilla, Marigold, Juniper, and many more have trained me well.

Safety, trust & environment
I do petsitting in the pet’s home, where they are most comfortable. By profession, I am a summer camp director so am background checked and entrusted with the lives of children! I am also responsible for overseeing countless logistics, adjusting to changing circumstances on the fly, being kind and professional to everyone, think of safety first (second and third— I’m pretty obsessed with creating a backup plan for everything that we could anticipate could possibly go wrong), leaving a venue nicer than we found it, and trying to look on the bright side when things get challenging. Hopefully those will serve me well in petsitting for you too 💕
Ratings and reviews
Our animals are not easy…3 special needs boys, and she handled them with exceptional care.

Nora is amazing - incredibly thoughtful and attentive, she cared for our two senior pups expertly and went above and beyond making sure we got regular updates and that they were well cared for all weekend. She was able to handle our sweet but quirky 11 year old Maltese which says a lot about her skills, and meant the world to us! Not to mention, she left our home spotless. We will absolutely be hiring Nora again, and I can’t recommend her enough.

Nora is amazing! She could not have been sweeter or more attentive to my elderly dog. I highly recommend her. She's really special.

Nora has done long-term house sitting and care for my dog, Charlie. He is both diabetic & has numerous medicines. Nora is simply one of the the most caring, consistent & conscientious people I have been blessed to have helped me with care. She kept my home spotless, her entire focus was on Charlie, and she was exceptionally communicative. She has my highest recommendation!
Nora took care of our house and our five high-need, rescued cats for three weeks while we were traveling. Nora is exceedingly professional, responsible and caring as a pet sitter. She fearlessly cared for our cat who’s very territorial and is known to scratch strangers and won over that cat’s affections! She made sure that all five cats got each of their individual needs met and was also very supportive when we had some trouble with our travel schedule. You cannot do better for a pet sitter than Nora!
Nora watched our cats while we were on a three-week vacation this summer. She took outstanding care of the cats (my first priority) as well as our home and I can't recommend her enough. I have several cats with special needs and she took excellent care of each of them, despite several of them having conflicting needs. She also took outstanding care of our house. She's an excellent communicator and a wonderful person. We will only go on vacation when we know she is available to care for the cats.

Schedule
I work from home and choose my own hours so am very flexible and available to work around your or your buddy’s schedule. I have sat for animals that have wildly different preferences and I’m lucky to be able to accommodate them with my schedule.
- Cats0 to 15 lbs16 to 40 lbs41 to 100 lbsover 101 lbsNora can host up to 2 drop-ins per day
- Any risky behavior, health issues, or anything you may be worried about. Is there any scenario where your dog could bite a person or dog? Might they try to run away? Can they interact well with other dogs or should I cross the street to avoid them? Are they scared of storms or do they have separation anxiety? What health issues does your sweety have?
