I’ve had my dog Nala for six years, and this was actually the first time I’ve ever gone away and left her in someone else’s care without having a family member or someone I personally know stay with her. I’ve always been extremely nervous about leaving her because Nala can be very reactive and aggressive toward other dogs after being bitten a few years ago, so I don’t trust just anyone with her. From the very beginning, Victoria was so understanding of Nala’s needs and completely respectful of the fact that she can be difficult around other dogs. She handled everything so calmly and confidently, and I felt like Nala was in really good hands. What meant the most to me was that Victoria went above and beyond what I expected. She didn’t just come in, take Nala for a walk, and leave. She spent extra time with her inside, hung out with her, made sure she was comfortable, and gave her the attention and companionship she needed while we were away. You could genuinely tell that she cared about Nala and wasn’t just there to do a job. As someone who has always had a hard time trusting other people with my dog, Victoria gave me something I honestly didn’t think I’d have on vacation: peace of mind. This was my first time using Rover or any dog walking service, let alone have anyone aside from myself, dad, or brother take care of my pup. And I have ZERO regrets. My dad was supposed to stay with my dog for the long weekend I was away, but last minute he couldn’t and I needed a plan B. I came to Rover to see if I could find a solution and I did- Peter!
