“Priyanka was amazing with my dog. She followed all the instructions I left her, asked to do a meet and greet, and asked questions about my dog too. I got updates and pictures. I would book her again!!”

“Breanna was very responsive and took great care of Fitz. He is shy and cautious by nature, but seemed very comfortable and happy in the photos and when I returned. I think he had a great time!”

About: I grew up with 3 Shiba Inus for close to 17 years and now have 2 cats of my own, Pepper Jack and Colbie Jacqueline. I have extensive experience with special needs dogs as my Shibas had varying disabilities ranging from mobility related to medication needing and eventually to doggy dementia. For around 4 years I worked at a high end pet resort/daycare. Though my main responsibility was taking photographs of the pets, I would assist with walking, grooming, and monitoring activities. While there, I had experience with animals of all ages. I continue to do freelance pet photography. As a recent MFA graduate, I am currently splitting my time between teaching classes/events at a ceramics studio and working within my own art studio. As my schedule varies and is very moveable, I can make myself available for you and your pets! When I come into your home, I will have the utmost care and respect for both the space itself and for your pets’ comfortability as a guest in their safe space.

In addition I've also worked with even more animals like turtles, fish, snakes, and sugar gliders Hey! I'm still working on a set schedual right now, so when ever you need me I'm always around! I always make animals my priority If I am dog sitting in someone's home, I'll probably end up sitting with the dog and doing school work on my laptop, then taking the dog on a nice long walk to get us both outside. And playing with them when ever they want!

About: I’ve been working in a doggy daycare in New Jersey for the past 5 years. I bathe, feed, play, & care for dogs. I also had a furry friend for 15 years, and I continue to honor her life by caring for other dogs. I am passionate about animals and love spending time with them. I’ve worked with dogs as little as 4 months old to 18 years old. I’ve also worked with dogs of all kind. I am currently working part time at a doggy daycare in the mornings or afternoons, depending on the day. I can care for your pets before and after work, or all day on days I do not work. I can provide treats and bowls for water and your pup’s preferred food. I live in an apartment that is pet friendly and safe for them.

“Gordon watched my three small dogs for three days! This included my one high needs fifteen year old dog and my one year old dog who has a grumpy attitude. Gordon was a pleasure to work with. He was super friendly. He was very attentive. He was super communicative and sent me tons of video and pics of my pups. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend! If you want your pups to be spoiled Gordon is your pick!”

About: Some of the happiest memories of my life are connected to dogs. It started with the big German Shepherds at my grandparents’ home, where I helped look after them, followed by Great Danes, Collies, Newfoundlands, and Spaniels belonging to friends, whose responsibility I often shared on trips and hikes. And then came the greatest joy of all: over the years, first a mixed-breed and later a Chinese Crested Powderpuff became part of my family. Since I can’t have a dog right now, every chance to spend time with one makes me genuinely happy. I love their endearing little tricks and mischief, the ability to train humans and to communicate so clearly without a word. I pay close attention to each dog’s personality and routine, carefully follow the owner’s instructions, and want them to feel comfortable and secure with me. Long walks, playing, and simply spending time together are another source of joy. I look forward to meeting your four-legged family members and caring for them. I work remotely, so your four-legged baby will have company most of the time. I usually leave for personal errands only once every couple of days and for no more than 3–4 hours. My schedule is quite flexible, so I’m happy to arrange walks, drop-in visits, or longer stays, with plenty of time for walks and play throughout the day. I carefully follow your instructions and your pet’s usual routine so they feel safe, comfortable, and secure with me. I never let a dog off leash in my yard because the fence is not fully enclosed. If you’re comfortable with it, I’m happy to visit a dog park where your furry friend can run and play off leash.
About: I feel as though i have an ability to communicate with animals in ways I cannot communicate with humans. I believe all dogs are gifts from god and we are fortunate to experience their unconditional love. I currently work from home, which allows for a very open schedule, and affords me a lot of freedom when necessary. I can also adapt my current situation to make special accommodations. we have a fenced in yard, I also have a county park located at the end of my street, which also has several dog parks included within it.

About: I am very flexible on weekdays. I have experience doing dog walks and drop-in visits for small-to-medium sized dogs of family and friends. Able to do long walks. I currently work on weekends and I am available on week days from 10am-4pm. I am also available on weekdays after 6pm. I’m mostly flexible with time I am able to feed your dog if needed. Take them on walks and have fun play dates with them. Your dog’s safety is my priority. I can ensure that your dog’s needs are met.
About: I’ve always loved animals and i believe this love translates in the love and care that i have given to my bestfriend’s furry one. I’ve taken care of my bestfriend’s dog for 3 years; I’ve loved him the very moment i saw him. He is family and I would do anything for him. I work from home full time; i have the time and flexibility to care and love on your furry ones. I live right next to the park so talking them on a walk won’t be a hassle. I’m pretty much home all the time and i would love the company of your furry ones! I have bowls and pee pads in my apartment for your furry ones to be comfortable. I love cuddles and playtime and walks. Dogs are extensions of family in my opinion, so i believe that they should have the best of whatever I’m having.
“HIGHLY RECOMMEND KATE! She was such a pleasure to work with. We had a peace of mind while away of her caring for our cats. She would reach out with any questions, yet more importantly would send photos and videos of her interactions with the cats. <3 <3 <3 She was extra helpful with watering plants, too. Need to figure out our next time away to use her again! :)”

I’m also organized and dependable, so you can count on me to follow your pet’s routine and keep you updated while they’re with me. I work a 9AM-5PM weekday schedule, so I’m most available in the early mornings, evenings and on weekends. I’d especially love to build a few regular walking or pet-sitting routines nearby. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - North Arlington
We had a wonderful experience! Our dog, cat, and guinea pig were all very well cared for during the overnight stay. Everything was handled responsibly and with lots of care, and we felt completely comfortable knowing our pets were in good hands. We’d happily recommend Sam and book again!

Juliana did a wonderful job caring for our senior pugs and staying in our home for a week. It was clear from the meet and greet to the way she communicated with photo updates and a request to clarify the best way to manage a minor health scenario flagged in our instructions that she takes this role very seriously, which we appreciate. And importantly the dogs felt comfortable with her right away! Would hire again.

He was super friendly. He was very attentive. He was super communicative and sent me tons of video and pics of my pups. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend! We have had many pet sitters over the years, and Nima stands out as one of the best. She is very friendly, considerate, and kind, both with us and with our puppy, Olivia. Nima sent us daily photos and videos with a quick update on how everything was going. Olivia is a very picky eater, but somehow Nima got her to eat every meal! Nima left our house clean and tidy. She was on time and communicative about arrival & departure and about when she needed to leave the house while caring for Olivia. I highly recommend her for pop-in visits with your pet or overnight stays.

Darrin was great taking care of my two boys at my home for a weekend trip I had planned. He provided frequent updates and pictures and was even able to accommodate beyond the originally scheduled trip if needed due to weather travel disruptions. 10/10 would recommend and would happily use him again if ever needed! Thanks again from me and the boys!

Kristine is the most caring, kind, and genuinely incredible person we have ever met on this app. The way she takes care of our puppies is truly amazing and she goes above and beyond to make sure they are happy and that my husband and I have nothing to worry about! She updates with photos all day, texts how they are doing and what they are doing, and answers her phone the second we text her. It is so obvious how much she adores animals, and our puppies adore her. We are so lucky to have found Kristine! Would recommend to anyone, and already booked her to watch our puppies many more times after her first visit. What a wonderful person!!!! We are blown away!

This was our first time booking with Milena and our first time booking an overnight sitter for our pets, so we were just a little anxious. Over the course of the weekend, all our nerves were calmed; Milena was great. She communicated well, sent pictures, and heeded all of our instructions and requests. We had done a meet and greet with her before the weekend, so we knew our pets were comfortable with her, and they seemed very happy to have her company. When we returned, the house was in perfect shape. We will definitely book with her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Arlington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Arlington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Arlington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in North Arlington. On Rover:

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
