“Breanna and Myah are amazing sitters and cared for our pups with so much love and attentiveness we are just so grateful! The multiple daily updates and photos were so nice! I would highly recommend them! We already have them booked again for our next trip as well aa some daytime drop ins.”

About: I've had 5 years of dog caring and have raised 3 puppies. I have successfully taken care of multiple breeds of dogs of different sizes. Moreover, I know how to interact with multiple animals, cats, and dogs. I like to pay attention to their needs and play around. The sole joy of being in the company of a pet is my reward! I paid attention to my pets needs and other dogs needs. I have taken care of friends pets as well as puppies. and find that it is important to showcase love and affection for every pet. In terms of potty training, I'm quite capable of perceiving when they want to go. Will adhere to dogs dietary needs as well as engage their attention.
“Molly and her husband were great, they took care of our two dogs while we were away for a few days and made sure they were pampered and stayed healthy. They also left our place clean and went the extra mile to get our puppy some extra food when he ran out of it. Highly recommend!”

“Priyanka was amazing with my dog. She followed all the instructions I left her, asked to do a meet and greet, and asked questions about my dog too. I got updates and pictures. I would book her again!!”

“Jay is the best. My Thunder who is a 75lb American Pitbull loves him and for anyone with this breed that once they trust you there is no such thing as personal space. This breed gets a bad reputation but they are cuddle buddies. Book him now and often you will not regret it!”

“Gordon was really great with Asher and he kept me updated daily with messages along with some pictures/videos of their time together. I’d certainly welcome him to care for my senior canine kid again; highly recommended to others! Five Stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Great service! Brad is an excellent communicator, and took great care of our dog and home. He kept me up to date and was always fast to reply. Our house was spotless when we returned and he was very tidy (which was also important to us).”

“Temi was quickly responsive and was able to help watch my dogs when my last minute trip came up. Thank you so much! He does an amazing job caring for my babies and sending me updates about them. You will not regret booking him to watch your fur babies!”

“Marli did an amazing job watching my two cats while I was out of the country for a week. It is clear that she is a cat lover and enjoyed spending time with them. I wanted someone who would play with my cats and give them affection while I’m gone, not just feed them, and Marli did just that! I could tell from the daily photos she sent me that both my girls were very happy. I came back home to two cats who barely missed me because they had so much fun with Marli.”

“We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience with Megan! She took wonderful care of our 11-week-old poodle puppy while we were away for ann evening. Communication with her was excellent from start to finish, and she was very easy to work with. Our puppy was happy and well-cared for when we returned, and we felt completely at ease knowing she was in good hands. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

About: Our Why? We have Huskies, and while still offering our service to other breeds, we highlight that it takes a fellow Husky owner to understand what a Husky needs. Despite their mischievous shenanigans, Houdini escape attempts, endless fur-sheddings, high-pitched vocalizations, bubbly, energized personalities, and hyperactive frolicking, we adore huskies. We understand finding experienced, dependable, loving, and trustworthy caregivers for your Husky isn't easy. That's why we are here to help. We currently have two friendly young huskies (one male and one female- fixed and crate-trained). We also have experience with English bulldogs, Sharpeis, Chow-Chows, Labs, Doodles, and Boxers. We only offer care for dogs based upon the comfortability of the match to our pet-care style and demeanor. We love our pets as we will love yours. We are focused on weekends, holidays, and summer care. We are open to possible weekday arrangements if your dog is crate-trained. Before booking us, a drop-by visit is required to test the compatibility of all humans and dogs. A few things: Special note-while we have never owned a French bulldog, we are particularly interested in learning to care for this breed. Your pet must be spayed or nurtured to receive boarding in our home. Also, we are sorry but we cannot offer care for full or mixed Pit Bull breeds. How does pet care fit into your daily and weekly lives? Our pets receive two meals a day, comprising dry food and water. Our pets are crate-trained and remain crated when owners are away. Most of the time, there is an adult in the house. Our dogs can access a large fenced backyard with green grass and trees. Our dogs walk with owners through nearby Branch Brooke Park and visit the dog park almost daily. Our dogs are crated during adult meal times and sleep in the main bedroom on the floor, side couch, or end of bed at night. We maintain a clean home and provide puppy pads during inclement weather to avoid mud and chaos. Pets have access to some rooms, but not all rooms in the house. Toys and treats are provided regularly. Linens on beds where animals may sleep are washed and switched out regularly. Our gate is blocked off on both sides because huskies are known for escaping. Our pets have ID collars and ID dog tags and wear GPS trackers during the day. Our dogs are up-to-date on immunizations and have been spayed/neutered. We don't hit our dogs with our hands or objects but use basic word commands. Training dogs is always a work in progress. They are both loved for their uniqueness. We only plan to care for pets in our home. We have a large and welcoming home.

“Elissa was a great sitter for our 13 week old pup. She took her time to meet and get comfortable with our puppy. She was in constant communication with us throughout the day and sent us pictures and updates on her behavior. We felt really comfortable leaving her in our house and everything was kept neat and tidy. We would absolutely recommend her as a pet sitter.”

“Leaving your puppies is so hard and after a year of not traveling leaving them for the first time in what seems like forever was really tough. After the first update from Milena though all my fears went away. I could see from the picture how comfortable my pups were with her. She took such amazing care of them and I felt so grateful knowing they were in such good hands. Thank you so much for making my mind at ease knowing my dogs were safe and happy while in you’re care!”

Joni was amazing! Followed my instructions to a T, sent plenty of photos and updates. Even offered to water my garden during a heat wave! Came home to two happy and well loved animals, a clean house, and some lovely fresh flowers placed in water. Can’t recommend Joni enough.

Jojo was an amazing sitter! We have a 5-year old rescue and started fostering another 5-year old who had been with us for only two weeks, so we were hesitant to reach out to anybody new. Jojo played with them all day, took them out for pup cups, and kept us updated the whole time. We could not be happier and will reach out to Jojo for our future pet sitting needs!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND KATE! She was such a pleasure to work with. We had a peace of mind while away of her caring for our cats. She would reach out with any questions, yet more importantly would send photos and videos of her interactions with the cats. <3 <3 <3 She was extra helpful with watering plants, too. Need to figure out our next time away to use her again! :)

I'm a bit of a hoverparent, so I was really happy with how communicative Jade was the entire time we were away. We got lots of updates on what our little weirdo was doing and how he was responding, complete with pics and videos. He seemed to have had a great time with Jade and we returned home to a totally chill and unbothered doggo.

Breanna is a fantastic pet sitter! She watched Sophia and Valentina over the weekend and exceeded all my expectations. She was attentive, responsible, and kept me updated the whole time. It gave me total peace of mind knowing my girls were in such loving hands. Thank you, Breanna!

Siara is wonderful! She took excellent care of our 13 year old dog, including giving her daily medications, lots of belly rubs and gentle walks. Siara also took excellent photos and videos of our dog, which was so appreciated during our 5 days away. Siara’s communication was excellent too! And she left our house spotless: We will definitely book her again. We recommend Siara to anyone who needs a responsible dogsitter.

Holy moly! I can’t brag about Safiya enough! From start to finish the communication was nothing short of incredible. She cared for my baby like he was her own. She cared for my home like she lived here. I feel like a found a member of the family not a sitter. Hands down, the best caretaker for anyone you love. Will ONLY be booking with her again in the future. 100000000000000000000 out of 10. Literally the greatest experience.

Darrin was great taking care of my two boys at my home for a weekend trip I had planned. He provided frequent updates and pictures and was even able to accommodate beyond the originally scheduled trip if needed due to weather travel disruptions. 10/10 would recommend and would happily use him again if ever needed! Thanks again from me and the boys!

Trisha was terrific! She was very friendly and great with updates and photos. She took very good care of our 12 year old dog. She was very easy to communicate with and was very helpful with household tasks like watering plants, collecting mail and recycling while we were away. Our dog was very relaxed and comfortable with her. Highly recommend! Added bonus she gives great pet massages!

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! She was absolutely wonderful with our French Bulldog — so loving, attentive, and affectionate. Our dog felt safe, happy, and comfortable the entire time we were away, and we felt completely at ease knowing our home and pup were in such good hands. She even came by ahead of time to meet her, and they bonded instantly! Pretty sure our dog already misses her now that we’re back from vacation. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be booking her again!

FAQs for House Sitting - East Orange
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in East Orange on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 18,878 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across East Orange. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Orange walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Orange maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Orange choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Orange. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
