About: I've always had a dog growing up, lived with cats for many years, and have been house sitting for four years in many states across the US! I don't have any pets, children, plants, etc. to take care of that are my own - so very available for other peoples pets! Outside of pet sitting, I am a Clinical Psychology PhD Student at Suffolk University. I have class all day Monday, but am flexible Tuesday through Friday. *Disclaimer: I do not currently own a car! In the clients home, I always respect the space and am sure to leave the space cleaner than I found it, but open to client preferences with what to clean versus leave be 😊

About: I’ve taken care of multiple types of animals and pets through sitting, volunteering at the humane society, and working at a petting zoo. I am an animal lover myself who is excited to interact with your pet and give them the love and care they need! I grew up with lots of pets and am loving spending time with everyone’s pets. I just moved to Boston and I miss my two cats and two dogs that are on the other side of the country. Would love the opportunity to share my love with your pets :) I’m currently doing school at nights twice a week so I have plenty of time to care for your pet. Available any day as needed! Send me a message and we can find a time that works best. I am able to spend time with your pet while being respectful of your space, knowing that animals thrive in an environment they are used to.
“Alyssa was fantastic!! Took the time to meet my pup & go over instructions. She did great my dog & I always came home to a very happy & tired dog. Would definitely recommend booking with her”

“Michael is very responsive, flexible and dedicated. He gives me regular update and takes dog walking to the next level. You can tell that he enjoys it. I’m a repeat client ;)”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have hands-on experience raising and training my own. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding, playtime, basic commands, routines, and lots of love and attention. I know every dog has their own personality, so I’ll follow your routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with me. I currently work from home, so I have plenty of flexibility throughout the day for walks, potty breaks, feeding, playtime, and attention. I’m used to caring for my 16-year-old dog and taking him out every 1–2 hour, but he is in doggy heaven now. I treat every pet like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’ll follow their normal routine, including feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, medications, and any special instructions. I’m also happy to send plenty of pictures and updates so you know your fur baby is happy and well cared for while you’re away.
About: I have a dog and a cat and I have never met an animal I didn't get along with! I raised my dog from being a puppy and watched him grow into my senior boy! I also have experience living with and caring for a variety of dogs, all the way down to a tiny 6 pound dachshund. I also have plenty of cat experience and have cared for and lived with many of those as well :) I emphasise patience and respect. I typically work from 4-late so I will have plenty of time to spend with your furry friend mid-day for a walk or home visit. For in home visits I will respect and adhere to any rules or specifications you lay out for your pet. For walks I will adhere to any specific route you would like us to take or area of the city you would like us to stay in.

About: I’ve been around dogs and animals my entire life and have always had a huge heart for them. My grandpa was a veterinarian, so growing up I had the opportunity to help him care for animals and became comfortable around pets with all different personalities and needs. I also have a mini Goldendoodle of my own who I truly treat like my little kid! 🐾 I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I’ll always treat yours with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. Whether that means walks, playtime, cuddles, feeding, or simply keeping them company, my goal is to make sure they feel happy, safe, and loved while you’re away. I recently finished my master’s degree at Northeastern University and am currently doing remote work while looking for my next full-time position, so my schedule is very open and flexible! I’m home most days and have plenty of availability throughout the week for drop-in visits, walks, and spending time with your pets. I’m also flexible with timing and happy to work around your pet’s normal routine as much as possible. I’ll always treat your pet and your home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I’ll follow any instructions you leave, keep your pet’s normal routine as consistent as possible, and make sure they’re comfortable and safe while you’re away. I’m also happy to send plenty of pictures and updates so you know your pet is happy and being well taken care of!
“Can’t say enough good things about Yulia. She is so sweet and you can see how much she loves animals. She was very kind to our yellow lab who sometimes gets anxious and stubborn. She made sure he was well taken care of, that he got good exercise, and potty breaks. She sent lots of photos which evidenced how much fun Dempsey had while in her care. Highly recommended!”

“Emily is reliable, consistent, and flexible. She provides thorough updates of her walks with pictures and feedback. I trust her 100% to care for my one year old Maltipoo, Milo. Highly recommended!”

“Piper is literally the best and knows/loves all things dog! I can’t already tell that we are lucky to have our paths cross with her and can’t wait to work together more in the future!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Boston
Sarah took really great care of my dog this week especially on short notice. She went the extra mile making sure she had the chance to finish her food after my stubborn pup refused to eat her breakfast with me. Sarah even cleaned up my dog’s water bowl after I had spilled it on my way out one morning, all without asking. My dog and I both highly recommend her!

Christianna was very patient with Ritchie, who can be shy and nervous with new people. She gave him the time he needed to feel comfortable and kept me updated on how everything went. She was responsive, communicative, and thoughtful throughout the process. I really appreciated her patience with him!

Faith was the most helpful! We booked her last minute and she accommodated all of my questions/changes enthusiastically. Her love for our pups was felt from 300 miles away and the peace of mind she gave us that they were being well cared for meant the world. Will definitely book again! Thank you faith! Highly recommend!

Lily has been going on walks with Isabel for the past week, and she has been absolutely wonderful! Isabel has such a warm, enthusiastic energy and clearly genuinely loves spending time with dogs, and Lily has been so happy going on his long walks with her. She’s incredibly thoughtful and attentive, always making sure his water is filled, and when Lily had an unexpected accident in the house one day, she even went above and beyond to clean it up for us. She’s also very knowledgeable about dogs and their behavior, wonderfully communicative and understanding, and just an absolute pleasure to work with. I’m so appreciative of the care and enthusiasm she brings to every walk!

Liliboo has been going on walks with Lynne for quite a while now, and she has been absolutely wonderful with him! He’s always so happy to see her, and Lynne is incredibly reliable, communicative, flexible, and easy to work with. Most recently, I reached out on very short notice because of an unexpected situation, and she was so understanding and accommodating and made it work for us. I’m always so appreciative of how wonderful she is with Liliboo and how much I can count on her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
