“Rachel did an amazing job taking care of Kaia for a week! She was super responsive, accommodating, and adored Kaia very much. Definitely felt like my pup was in great hands.”

“Ilya was phenomenal with our dog Olive. He gave her a lot of attention, taking her on many walks every day. Olive typically goes on hunger strikes when we're away and that she ate so much of her food every day is the best testament to the care Ilya offers.”

“Indra was absolutely incredible with Penny! I could tell from the beginning that she was in great hands, and all the photo updates confirmed it too. He was very communicative and attentive to making sure Penny’s typical routine was kept. Thank you, Indra (and thank you to your lovely gf too)!!”

“Zach was very responsive and easy to communicate with before and during our dog’s stay with him. He sent us photos regularly. Our dog was excited to see him again, which is always a good sign he had a good time!”

“Emily and Daniel were phenomenal watching my dog Ace! Very accommodating, excellent communication and updates, and could tell Ace genuinely had a fun time and was taken care of!”

“JP was quick to respond, flexible for drop-off/pick-up and sent me an update with a picture. My dog looked happy when I picked her up. I would hire him again if I need a care.”

“Mallory is amazing with our dog Cali! We have used her a few times and it’s been such a great experience. Daily pics/ video updates and super responsive. Cali always comes home happy!”

“Phillipa is an amazing dog sitter! The updates every day were very much appreciated and we will definitely consider her again for any future needs.”

“We had a last minute trip during a holiday weekend and reached out to Hunter who quickly agreed to take care of our 15 year old toy poodle. She was quick to respond and provided great communication during the entire care. Our dog also got along great with her dogs. Would use her again!”

About: I have worked with farm animals including dogs and cats for about 2 years and I own a dog and a cat! I also love interacting with animals. I am looking for a simple job to keep me active and be able to give back to my community. I would love to care for animals of all shapes and sizes while also ensuring your home and pets are safe. In my home, we have a big backyard with plenty of room for dogs and a whole separate cat room. Within another person's house I would be respecting boundaries put up around the house and being consistent and well aware of clean up! I also love getting out, which would be favorable for a dog.

“Svetlana did an amazing job taking care of Kaia! She absolutely adored Kaia and sent so many updates. We felt at ease and did not have to worry about Kaia during our time away.”

“Mike is an exceptional sitter. His passion for caring for animals definitely contributed to my peace of mind while I was away. He is patient and diligent and having been able to spend some time at his place and seeing the space that my dogs would be in, I can whole heartedly say, he was meant to do what he does!! I have already referred him to my other pet parents and will most definitely use his services again!!!”

“I am very glad I found John, as he was such a caring & attentive & calm sitter for slightly anxious dog. He gave routine updates & pictures to keep me informed of how things were going, & I can tell my dog had a very comfortable stay. I will definitely be booking John again!”

“Sydney did a great job watching our pup for the weekend! She was thoughtful in her updates, and was helpful in scheduling around a very busy weekend for us. Highly recommend, thanks again!”

“Logan and her dog Gus were wonderful with my golden. Logan has a natural confidence and calm presence that the dogs respond to immediately — they listen to her and clearly feel comfortable around her. She handled everything with ease and professionalism. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in such capable hands. Highly recommend!”

“Christina was amazing! I booked last minute and she was eager to take care of Beru for the weekend. She sent lots of photo updates. Beru has some quirks and Christina was more than capable and happy to accommodate Beru’s personality. Would 100% book with her again!”

“Jacqueline is absolutely wonderful! You can tell just by looking at Mengmeng’s face how happy and well-cared-for she is when she’s with her. Mengmeng is genuinely so joyful, and it’s clear Jacqueline takes amazing care of her. Highly recommend!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Boston
Phillipa was wonderful. She was easy to communicate with throughout the entire process of booking, meet and greet, and during the stay. She sent tons of picture updates which was so appreciated. She really seemed to enjoy dogs and spending time with them. My pup was relaxed and happy during the stay.
I highly recommend Krystal & William!! I have a mini-husky, Emmy, who loves to play with other dogs, but is shy and timid around humans. I recently moved to Boston and was very nervous finding a new sitter for Emmy. I talked to many other services and ended up going with Krystal upon meeting her in person - and she did an amazing job - taking excellent care of Emmy while I was away on a week long trip. Photos, videos, trips to the good dog park, special treats, and excellent perfect communication. Highest recommendation!
Brooklynn and Adam are amazing!! My dog is anxious and leash reactive, but he had no problems staying with Brooklynn. She made sure to walk him in quiet areas during less busy times, and her home is quiet and peaceful, which I'm sure helped Monty a ton. She had no problem giving him two different medications every morning, and he got so much love all weekend. We got so many pictures of Monty snuggling with Brooklynn and Adam - so cute! It was like he went to the spa for the weekend - we would love for her to watch Monty again!

Jacqueline was wonderful with Mengmeng! ❤️ She took such great care of her and kept us updated throughout our trip. We could always tell from Mengmeng’s happy little face how much she enjoyed her time with Jacqueline! 🥹 We’re so grateful and would absolutely book with her again! Highly recommend! 🐶💕

Our golden retriever loves her time with Kimberlyn so much!! She’s spent many weekends with her and always comes home happy and tired from all the fun had. Kimberlyn is an excellent communicator and great about sending updates. We would absolutely book again with her!

Our dog Milly had a great stay with Sofia! She had a great time playing with the other dogs that were there and sprinting around the fenced in yard. Sofia was attentive to her play style with the other dogs in the house and she was very accommodating with us dropping Milly off earlier than we planned

Layne took terrific care of our cat, Pixel, for two weeks. He sent daily photos and let us know how she was doing. We also appreciated that he has lots of cat toys, a litter box, and dishes. That made bringing her over a lot easier. Pixel seemed right at home at Layne's place and the reassuring communication allowed us to enjoy our vacation with no worries. We would definitely book with Layne again.

Ben cared for our senior dog Hazel for over a week while we visited family. He was excellent and we could tell Hazel was having a blast. We get worried leaving her with sitters because of her age and being a rescue, but Ben was very sweet, caring, and asked all the right questions before we dropped her off. I‘m hoping we can have Hazel stay with him many more times while we’re in the neighborhood.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
