“Jamie was great taking care of Maya, she sent me multiple updates throughout the week and made sure Maya was comfortable and happy!! I would definitely recommend her and will use again in the future!!”

“We had a great experience with Elizabeth and Rodrigo! There was daily communication as well as photo updates — our dog looked right at home! We had total peace of mind while we were away. Murphy already can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend!”

“Haowen was amazing! I was really nervous about leaving my dog with a new person, but I had no reason to worry. They took lots of photos and sent me several updates daily. My dog did have a little accident when she first got there (which she never does 🤦🏼♀️), but Haowen was so understanding about it. I would definitely use this rover again!! Cleo came home super tired, so I’m guessing she had a fun weekend lol”

“Emily was wonderful with our little schnoodle Theo! We had forgotten to book a sitter when heading out of town for the weekend and Emily was very welcoming and flexible with scheduling the last minute booking. She took great care of Theo and was very accommodating of our unpredictable timing driving back through traffic ti get home to Boston. I would definitely recommend her and book with her again in the future!”

“Ivis was a wonderful sitter. She was happy to come pick Hugo up and drop him off and was very flexible with her times and communicative about when she would be arriving. One Hugo was with her we got regular updates and a Hugo had a great time. Highly recommended!”
“Pablo had an excellent stay! Jhona was very communicative and I appreciate all the details shared during Pablo’s stay. I definitely recommend Jhona to anyone in need of a sitter!”

“Easy location, great communication, surprisingly great pictures! I came home to a happy, relaxed and healthy pup and appreciated helpful updates without over messaging. Also very flexible when travel plans changed drop off times. Will definitely book again!”

“Elise watched our dog Boone very last minute for us - Greatly appreciated! Boone can get stressed out in new settings, but just arrived home happy as ever. Both my husband and I had great interactions with Elise. She sent pictures and assured us that he was doing well. We would definitely recommend her and plan on using her in the future!”
“Logan and her dog Gus were wonderful with my golden. Logan has a natural confidence and calm presence that the dogs respond to immediately — they listen to her and clearly feel comfortable around her. She handled everything with ease and professionalism. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in such capable hands. Highly recommend!”

“Karen watched Quinn for 3 nights and was great! She was super communicative, sending updates and pictures about how Quinn’s weekend was going. Quinn even got to go to a dog friendly beach - which she loved! I would definitely use Karen again in the future.”

“Elliot was an excellent dog sitter! He made sure Martha felt right at home and avoided other dogs as she can be reactive. We loved the daily updates and pictures. We’d definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone.”

“Krystal and William did an amazing job taking care of my dog, Broadie! From the start, they were professional, attentive, and clearly experienced with dogs. They provided plenty of updates, including photos and messages, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. Broadie looked happy and well-cared for in every update, and it was clear he was getting lots of love and attention. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I highly recommend Krystal and William to anyone looking for reliable and caring sitters. I’ll definitely be booking with them again!”

“Yin was amazing!!! She was excellent at communicating, sent tons of pictures and updates, and was very accommodating as I adjusted timing last minute. Most importantly, it was obvious she really cared for my pup!! I’ll definitely have her care for Winston again.”

“Cody was a fantastic sitter for our pup while we were away for a long weekend. She provided great daily updates and was incredibly kind, flexible, and communicative when our pup experienced some separation + thunderstorm anxiety during his visit and when we experienced flight delays on our return trip home. We will definitely re-book with Cody in the future!”

“Guillermo did a fantastic job with my dog, Kiara. She gets nervous around new people, so it’s always tough for me to leave her. I booked an overnight stay with Guillermo to see if they’d be a good fit, and it went perfectly. As soon as I arrived, I felt comfortable. Guillermo showed me around the house so I could see where Kiara would stay, which put me at ease. Kiara quickly warmed up to him and didn’t seem upset when I left. During the day, Guillermo sent thoughtful updates and photos, which really helped me relax. When I came back to pick up Kiara, she was happy to see me. She gave me a few kisses and then settled on the couch like she was at home. I really appreciated Guillermo’s care, communication, and the calm, friendly atmosphere he created. I have already booked with him again.”
“Zach was very responsive and easy to communicate with before and during our dog’s stay with him. He sent us photos regularly. Our dog was excited to see him again, which is always a good sign he had a good time!”

Leah took amazing care of Buggy. We were initially worried that he may not adjust well due to this being his first time away from home. Leah made sure to keep a close eye on him as he adjusted. Buggy came home happy and excited. He was clearly very comfortable in Leah’s care. We look forward to booking with Leah again

Mallory is so awesome to work with. She provides frequent and detailed updates with pictures of her adventures with Guinness. Guinness had to take medication while in Mallory’s care, and she had no issues taking on this extra responsibility at the last minute. She sent Guinness home with detailed time stamps of when he received his medicine. Mallory goes above and beyond every time. I am confident Guinness is in the best care whenever he stays with Mallory, and he even cries when it’s time to go home.

We had a wonderful experience with Kat and Matthew! This was our Suki's first overnight stay away from home, so we were naturally a little nervous, but they made us feel completely at ease from the start with their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail. They were very thorough with their drop-off instructions and were so receptive/attentive to the "Suki Care Guide" we provided, which was much appreciated! During Suki's stay, they sent detailed daily updates with lots of pictures and videos and were always quick to respond, which gave us so much peace of mind. Suki was a little anxious and whined her first night, but Kat and Matthew were incredibly patient and understanding, helping her settle in and become much more comfortable over the following nights. We also really appreciated that they kept up with Suki's regular grooming by brushing her during her stay, which showed how much they truly cared about maintaining her normal routine. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better first overnight boarding experience. Suki was in such caring, attentive hands, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with Kat and Matthew again. We highly recommend them!

Haowen and Yi were wonderful again with Lil’ Dan! He clearly was well taken care of and having the best time with them. He especially loved the dog park at their building and endless time to play and explore. This was Dan’s second time with them and we felt great knowing he was safe and loved. We loved all the photos and communication. We are so grateful and would definitely book again!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
