“Shana was great with our dog Basil! She watched her just overnight but Basil definitely looks like she got plenty of walks, attention, and couch time! Will definitely keep Shana in mind for future sits!”

“Jennifer was amazing and very communicative. Our dog Pepper loved being with her, as she was taken on walks, ball throws and taken care of. We will definitely rebook with Jennifer in the future for our dog care/boarding needs.”

“Super responsive and communicative! It was my first time boarding Koi with a Rover sitter and Linda was very reassuring and bonded very quickly with Koi. I'd board Koi with her again! The only downside is that Koi came home smelling a little bit of cigarette smoke, but Koi did stay with Linda for a whole week and I know Linda only smokes outdoors.”

“Lyn took care of my dog Keri while I was away on vacation. She sent regular updates and pictures, and I didn’t have to worry at all about my dog while I was away. Your pup will be in good hands!”

“Aurora was great with our dog Hailey! She stayed with her for more than two weeks and we got a lot of pictures! It was the first time Hailey stayed with someone else then family or friends, so we were anxious at first. We would book Aurora again, she also took the time to do a meet and greet upfront.”

“Rachel could not have been nicer! Our dog had the best time going on long walks and playing with Rachel's dog. She was great about sending daily photos. We would not hesitate to recommend Rachel. She is wonderful!!”

“Matias was so wonderful with my gal Daisy! From the get go, Matias was very communicative and professional. Daisy had a great time and was clearly well loved and cared for! Would 10/10 recommend!!”

“Elliot and his wife were wonderful sitters for our dog! They were attentive to detail, have a clear love for animals, and were flexible and great with communication. Our dog had a blast staying with them, they went on a lot of outdoor adventures. We got updates twice a day with pictures; we definitely felt that our pup was safe, happy, and having a great time. Would highly recommend them!”

“This is our second time using Mia and Taowei and we will definitely use them again! Barley loves staying with them. They give her plenty of exercises and so much love. They send consistent updates with the best photos! Could not recommend highly enough.”

“Michiko and Clifford are great. This is the second time my dog stayed with them and they took great care of him both times. I look forward to more stays in the future. Thank you!”

“First time boarding with Maryah. She took excellent care of our 2 dogs and was very accommodating when we had to extend the boarding due to a family emergency. Would highly recommend and board with again! Thank you Maryah!”

“Emily was wonderful with our little schnoodle Theo! We had forgotten to book a sitter when heading out of town for the weekend and Emily was very welcoming and flexible with scheduling the last minute booking. She took great care of Theo and was very accommodating of our unpredictable timing driving back through traffic ti get home to Boston. I would definitely recommend her and book with her again in the future!”

“Alex is the best! My dog has been sick and Alex took good care of her and was attentive. My dog was on meds & she made sure she took her pills. Strongly recommend Alex!”

About: I have a dog of my own, so I know the deal. Walking my dog and hanging out with her is the best part of my day, and I would love for your dog to join. Weekends are my focus and I’m free for shenanigans and long walks! I have my own dog so 3-4walks on the weekend is our normal. I would consider weekdays, but we would have to talk because I work full time on site M-F, so during the week they would have a 20-30min morning walk and 1-2 afternoon walks. I have a well mannered dog friendly dog at home and I would care for your pet like I would mine…which means a lot of attention. Dogs would have to be able to do 3 flights of stairs or be pick-up-able
“Nathaniel was awesome and my dog was so happy with him. He took my dog hiking, swimming and outdoor events. Thanks for being so affordable yet a high quality dog sitter 🙏. He also sent us many pics and updates.”

“Jo and Adam both very pleasant in person; kept me updated with notes, photo, video; were careful of food and reassured me with updates on the fussy eater. My little dog seemed cheerful and calm when I picked her up, and kept circling back to nuzzle Jo one more time, so it seems like she had a good time. Would definitely book again.”

“Kimberly and Brian were wonderful! They took sent lots of updates and pictures of my pup and took great care of him. With a senior dog who has to take medication morning and night, it was a relief to have him in such good friends. And he and their dog, Lola, became buds by the end of it. Would absolutely recommend them!”

“Veronica was absolutely wonderful! Her communication was excellent—I always felt informed and reassured with regular updates and photos. It’s clear she truly loves animals and goes above and beyond to provide great care. I’d highly recommend Veronica to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful pet sitter!”

Mehlani was amazing!! We’ve never left our dog with a sitter before, however we felt so comfortable leaving her with Mehlani, and knew she was in great care during our vacation. She sent us pictures every day and provided us with lots of updates. Thank you Mehlani! We will definitely rebook with you.
I always worry when Wesley is with a new sitter and this was going to be for over a week. I saw all of the positive reviews for Michael and I can attest that they are 100% spot on. Michael shared so many great photos of Wesley during his stay running and playing with the other dogs and having a fantastic time. You can see the exuberance in his face in half the photos. He was having so much fun that I was actually a little worried that he wouldn't want to come home! I whole heartedly recommend Michael and his concierge door-to-door service and will absolutely use him again.

Ashley was an excellent sitter! This was our first experience using Rover and leaving our dog with a new person. It went incredibly well. Ashley was super communicative and answered our questions before we even asked. She was flexible with timing for the meet and greet and for drop off and pickup. We loved the photos and the frequent updates! It was wonderful knowing our dog was being well taken care of (and getting lots of play time in the backyard) while we were away. He also needs medicine and can sometimes be difficult with taking it, but Ashley had no problems. Glad to have another option for dog care when we travel! Thank you to Ashley and her family for making our dog another one of their pack for the weekend 😀

Sydney did an absolute amazing job watching my chocolate lab Sadie. Always sent me updates and pictures of Sadie during her stay with Sydney. Cannot recommend Sydney enough and will definitely be coming to her with any more needs for my pup! 10/10 recommend!! Thank you again!

We had never use Rover before but had to travel internationally for 12 days and none of our family or friends could take our 14 week old puppy, Pepper. We found Savar and he offered to meet up before the handoff to meet us and our puppy. He asked all the right questions about our training. Savar was happy to help with some of the training and behavioral things we were working on as well! We had an easy drop off and got frequent pictures, videos, and texts throughout Pepper’s stay. When we picked him up, Pepper was a very happy and well cared for dog. We would not hesitate to rebook Savar and would recommend him to other first time or repeat Rover users!

Phillipa is superb. She was very understanding and accommodating in dealing with my dog Leo's separation anxiety. Leo obviously adores her, and from the photos she sent, was very comfortable in her lovely home. He loves walking on the Commonwealth Mall and got a lot of exercise doing that while I was away. Consider yourself lucky if she has an opening when you need to go away.

Samichya was so communicative and accommodating. We were able to do a meet and greet before watching my little pup. And there was check-in and communication even prior to the day to make sure that all information was provided. While I was away, I received text messages and videos on a daily basis. It was a right amount of check-in. It really made me happy to know that my dog was being taken care of. They understood how much he means to me and it showed through the questions and the general interest on how to take care of him while I was gone. I would highly recommend. They were also very accommodating when my flight was going to be very late. They were still willing to allow me to come pick him up pretty late into the evening even though we were able to avoid that. I still appreciated the willingness to accommodate. I will definitely be rebooking.

Laura was truly fabulous-- I can't recommend her enough!! She was responsive throughout the booking and boarding process and flexible around pickup/drop-off times. She sent updates on my kitty everyday, complete with great photos! She keeps her place super well stocked with toys, a cat tree, and a bed. My little guy clearly had a great time with her, and I immediately felt he was in the safest possible hands. Would absolutely book again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
