“Alexis did such a great job walking my dog Sheba. Very responsible, responsive, and reliable. I would reccommend Alexis to anyone looking for walks or visits for their pets! Thank you Alexis!”

About: I have tried to live life around as many animals as possible. Grew up with dogs and cats and now am a proud cat dad. I pride myself on being punctual, responsible, and caring. I have taken care of dogs for family and friends for years. Being a Rover customer has encouraged me to be the best possible sitter, walker, visitor that I could be. I respect people's boundaries and animal's boundaries as well. I would prefer to meet you and your pet before we confirm sitting or visits just to make sure everyone is comfortable(especially your pets!). I am currently working part time and have lots of available time to walk, sit, and visit your cats or dogs. I can do multiple visits per days in Somerville if need be. I would prefer to take time to meet you and your pets before booking. I fully understand the concerns of having people in your home and treat spaces like I would want my home treated. I'm happy to clean litter boxes per directions and would always put things (food, leashes, toys, etc..) back in their place as directed. if you were to be out of town and asked me to retrieve mail, monitor lights and other utilities I would do that to the best of my abilities as well. As someone who has had Rover sitters come visit my cat Pepper I appreciate that extra effort that many of them have put forth. I would also be happy to communicate all visits through the app or phones with pictures and quick updates.
“Sean is amazing with Jelly, very flexible and communicative, jelly was always so excited to see him and had fun on his walks. Sean also asked if he could help with putting his boots on or leash etc, I will absolutely reach out again for future walks!”

About: I’ve been doing drop-in visits for friends and family’s pets since I was 15. Never had a pet myself due to my parents’ allergies, so I love giving extra love and attention to other peoples’ furry friends. When I was a junior in high school I even built a local dog park for my Girl Scout Gold Award project, just to help local dogs have more fun letting out their energy. I’m happy to attend to your animals specific wants, like a snuggly or energetic pet, or one of those pets that has a little hidey hole to check in on. My work schedule is hybrid, so I can easily care for your pet while working. I’m always working from home Mondays and Fridays, and I can take on any other day of the week as well, as long as I have a few days notice. I’m happy to meet with your pet ahead of time to let them get to know me while you’re home. I’m used to building trust slowly over time with animals.
“Lara is great and Fergus was so comfortable with her! She took the time to ask questions and was very detail-oriented in terms of what we wanted her to do/how do it. We will definitely be asking Lara to walk our pup in the future. Thank you again!!”

About: I have been the family/neighborhood cat and dog-sitter for years. From small little puppies and cats to Bernese Mountain dogs even larger than me! I am currently working part-time as a teacher so there is flexibility in my schedule to make time for pet visits, walks, or even overnight stays. I take long walks almost daily so having a furry companion with me would make them that much better. I always make sure any doors that need to remain shut are kept closed so no pets make their way into something they shouldn’t. Allergies are always noted in my phone, along with closest animal hospital just in case.
“Jacqueline was great with our dog River. She really put on the miles to exercise our active girl. She was prompt and capable. She skillfully handled a slight collar malfunction and delivered home a happy tired dog. We’ll definitely rebook with Jacqueline!”

“Yingzi was a wonderful help when I needed a dog walker in a pinch. She was very polite, professional, and made sure she understood all my dog's needs! Yangzi clearly loves and understands dogs and I could tell that my dog Katana loved walking with her! She's very thoughtful and I would definitely recommend her to others.”

“Nate always does a great job walking my dog Whiskey. He sends updates with Whiskey looking happy, sitting in the grass or walking around. Nate is very responsive and I'm always comfortable having him take care of my dog!”

“Cameron was great. Communicated well and even brought his pup to keep Cairo company during the hour long walk. If you need a walker, book him! Unfortunately, I’ll be unable to book him again since I’m moving out of state!”

About: Hello! Dog lover since birth. Now I live with cats whom I adore but I still miss my canine friends and exploring the outdoors with them. I am artist and book my schedule in advance when I can but still often have openings one week in advance to the day of. I am open to booking regular weekly apts. I am also open to last minute apts if my availability is open for the day. I am unable to bring other animals into my home. At your home I will be respectful of your space and attentive to your pets needs.
About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my deep compassion, patience, and experience with dogs who need extra attention—especially those with anxiety or special routines. I have hands-on experience caring for senior dogs, puppies, and pets who struggle with separation anxiety. My own dog, Sasha, has anxiety, so I understand the importance of gentle care, consistency, and emotional support. I treat every pet like family, and I’m committed to creating a calm, safe, and loving environment while you’re away. Whether your pup needs long walks, slow introductions, or just a cozy lap to nap on—I’ve got you covered! Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I have Mondays and Tuesdays off, which gives me plenty of time for daytime walks and drop-ins. On other days, I’m able to fit in visits between school and work—and I don’t mind doing late-night drop-ins if your pet needs evening attention. Caring for animals is something I truly enjoy, so I’m happy to make it a priority in my schedule. I’m dependable, flexible, and always focused on making pets feel safe and loved while you’re away. I only offer pet care in the client’s home because I believe pets are happiest and most comfortable in their own familiar environment. I follow your pet’s routine closely—whether that’s feeding, walks, playtime, or administering medication. I respect your space, keep things tidy, and make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and cared for while you’re away. My goal is always to provide reliable, stress-free care that gives both you and your pet peace of mind.
“Our dog just loved William. We also liked him right away. We scheduled him to walk our dog for 2 days when a relative was housesitting. She reported that William had a great rapport with our dog who was always happy to see him (and he does not have a good rapport with all humans; William is one of his favorites.”

“Stacy has been a lifesaver. We moved to the Boston area with little notice, and our mini poodle needed a dog walker on the days me and my spouse were at the office. Stacy stepped in and has taken excellent walks, and is super communicative and responsive. Our pooch and we are super happy with Stacy's service.”

“Lucy has been a life saver for me and my pup! She was available last minute to take him for several walks during the week, extremely responsive, and kept me updated with pics and any changes with his behavior/routine. Highly recommended!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Somerville
Lily has been going on walks with Isabel for the past week, and she has been absolutely wonderful! Isabel has such a warm, enthusiastic energy and clearly genuinely loves spending time with dogs, and Lily has been so happy going on his long walks with her. She’s incredibly thoughtful and attentive, always making sure his water is filled, and when Lily had an unexpected accident in the house one day, she even went above and beyond to clean it up for us. She’s also very knowledgeable about dogs and their behavior, wonderfully communicative and understanding, and just an absolute pleasure to work with. I’m so appreciative of the care and enthusiasm she brings to every walk!

Liliboo has been going on walks with Lynne for quite a while now, and she has been absolutely wonderful with him! He’s always so happy to see her, and Lynne is incredibly reliable, communicative, flexible, and easy to work with. Most recently, I reached out on very short notice because of an unexpected situation, and she was so understanding and accommodating and made it work for us. I’m always so appreciative of how wonderful she is with Liliboo and how much I can count on her!

Sam was wonderful! She was very communicative, helpful, and attentive throughout her time with Mia. She was especially observant of Mia’s habits and behavior and always made sure to let us know if she noticed anything out of the ordinary. We really appreciated how thoughtful and attentive she was, and we would definitely have her watch Mia again!

Carla is absolutely wonderful 10/10. She has been so reliable, kind, and attentive with my dog, and I always feel completely at ease knowing she’s in Carla’s care. It’s clear that Carla genuinely loves animals and takes the time to make sure my dog is happy and well cared for. She is also communicative and dependable, which I really appreciate. I would highly recommend Carla to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and all-around amazing dog walker!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
