“We have used Lynne multiple times for last minute dog walking. She has been reliable, on time, and clearly showers our pup with as much love and attention as we do. Thanks, Lynne!”

“Nathan is the most thorough, professional, superb caretaker I’ve ever seen in my life. He is truly magnificent. I only booked him for a single walk, but I will absolutely be working with him as many times as his schedule allows. When we met up for the meet and greet, he brought a notebook and asked a set of prepared questions about my dog’s personality, habits, etc.. It was unlike everything I’ve ever seen before. I CANNOT recommend Nathan enough. 13/10 stars. Absolutely incredible.”

About: I have tried to live life around as many animals as possible. Grew up with dogs and cats and now am a proud cat dad. I pride myself on being punctual, responsible, and caring. I have taken care of dogs for family and friends for years. Being a Rover customer has encouraged me to be the best possible sitter, walker, visitor that I could be. I respect people's boundaries and animal's boundaries as well. I would prefer to meet you and your pet before we confirm sitting or visits just to make sure everyone is comfortable(especially your pets!). I am currently working part time and have lots of available time to walk, sit, and visit your cats or dogs. I can do multiple visits per days in Somerville if need be. I would prefer to take time to meet you and your pets before booking. I fully understand the concerns of having people in your home and treat spaces like I would want my home treated. I'm happy to clean litter boxes per directions and would always put things (food, leashes, toys, etc..) back in their place as directed. if you were to be out of town and asked me to retrieve mail, monitor lights and other utilities I would do that to the best of my abilities as well. As someone who has had Rover sitters come visit my cat Pepper I appreciate that extra effort that many of them have put forth. I would also be happy to communicate all visits through the app or phones with pictures and quick updates.
“Cameron was great. Communicated well and even brought his pup to keep Cairo company during the hour long walk. If you need a walker, book him! Unfortunately, I’ll be unable to book him again since I’m moving out of state!”

“Loved meeting William! He was so understanding about all the things we try to reinforce with our pup and followed everything we suggested. Pebbles had a lot of fun with him, and he managed her energy really well. He also gave me such detailed updates and photos! Would definitely recommend :)”

“Lucy is an experienced and friendly dog walker that we will definitely rebook! Lucy was so patient with our nervous chihuahua and responsive to her specific needs.”

“Hi thank you for taking him out - I know he is difficult in the rain so no worries at all if he was being stubborn. I will be home in a few hours so I’ll let him out soon. Fingers crossed the rain stops!”

“Sean has been extremely reliable, communicative, and trustworthy as our weekly dog walker. Our dog loves playing at the park with him. He has made good decisions about when to let our dog off-leash and helps with interactions with other dogs. He also goes the extra mile to wipe my dogs paws after muddy walks!”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my deep compassion, patience, and experience with dogs who need extra attention—especially those with anxiety or special routines. I have hands-on experience caring for senior dogs, puppies, and pets who struggle with separation anxiety. My own dog, Sasha, has anxiety, so I understand the importance of gentle care, consistency, and emotional support. I treat every pet like family, and I’m committed to creating a calm, safe, and loving environment while you’re away. Whether your pup needs long walks, slow introductions, or just a cozy lap to nap on—I’ve got you covered! Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I have Mondays and Tuesdays off, which gives me plenty of time for daytime walks and drop-ins. On other days, I’m able to fit in visits between school and work—and I don’t mind doing late-night drop-ins if your pet needs evening attention. Caring for animals is something I truly enjoy, so I’m happy to make it a priority in my schedule. I’m dependable, flexible, and always focused on making pets feel safe and loved while you’re away. I only offer pet care in the client’s home because I believe pets are happiest and most comfortable in their own familiar environment. I follow your pet’s routine closely—whether that’s feeding, walks, playtime, or administering medication. I respect your space, keep things tidy, and make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and cared for while you’re away. My goal is always to provide reliable, stress-free care that gives both you and your pet peace of mind.
“Zoe was able and willing to walk our dog on relatively short notice, which was really appreciated. She was responsive and communicative, and she was great with Reese. Would recommend her without hesitation.”
“Ishaan communicated well about his visit, was punctual and did what was best for Misty. This was his first time with Misty who is a very anxious dog. But the pics he sent showed her looking calm. I will definitely call him again.”

“Heather is reliable and kind. She comes weekly to walk our pup and she always shows up on time, walks her for the allotted time, and sends us pictures. She is easy to communicate with and highly responsive. We could recommend Heather to anyone looking for a trusted person to watch their dog!”

About: Hi! For the past 10 years, I've been the go-to pet sitter for my family and friends, and I genuinely love getting to know every new furry friend. I'm an ER nurse working three 12-hour shifts each week, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability to care for your pets. My nursing background has made me calm under pressure, highly observant, and an excellent communicator. While I hope emergencies never happen, you can feel confident knowing I'm able to think quickly, troubleshoot problems, and keep you informed if anything unexpected arises. My priority is always building trust and making your pet feel safe and comfortable, and to keep them on their daily routine. I let each pet set the pace, paying close attention to their body language and energy level so I can adapt to what they need. Whether that's playtime, a relaxing walk, or a quiet afternoon. I'm very active and love being outdoors, so if your dog enjoys adventures, I'd be happy to take them on nature walks, hikes, or trips to a local park. During house sitting, I provide at least three walks per day and tailor activity to your dog's individual energy level. I live in Somerville and am often around exploring the area, which makes me a reliable option during busy times like summers, weekends, and holidays. I'm also comfortable caring for multiple dogs at once, as that's been the majority of my experience through years of pet sitting for family and friends. My goal is simple: provide dependable, attentive care so you can have peace of mind while your pet is happy, safe, and loved.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
