About: I’ve been doing drop-in visits for friends and family’s pets since I was 15. Never had a pet myself due to my parents’ allergies, so I love giving extra love and attention to other peoples’ furry friends. When I was a junior in high school I even built a local dog park for my Girl Scout Gold Award project, just to help local dogs have more fun letting out their energy. I’m happy to attend to your animals specific wants, like a snuggly or energetic pet, or one of those pets that has a little hidey hole to check in on. My work schedule is hybrid, so I can easily care for your pet while working. I’m always working from home Mondays and Fridays, and I can take on any other day of the week as well, as long as I have a few days notice. I’m happy to meet with your pet ahead of time to let them get to know me while you’re home. I’m used to building trust slowly over time with animals.
About: I've always loved taking care of dogs! I had my first when I was 9, a beagle. Throughout the years I've done various dog-walking and dog/cat sitting for friends and family, and now I miss seeing all the dogs as I live away from them and they have passed :'( On multiple occasions, I took care of two loving but rambunctious pit bulls for weekends and extended periods of time while my friend was away. Gave them medicines, lots of attention, and invigorating walks. I took care of the house while they were away and sometimes stayed overnight. I have experience with dogs that need to be on a tight leash in certain scenarios, and experience allowing them to just have fun in safe spaces. With well-behaved dogs, I've gone on runs in the forest and been able to have them off-leash. I love having a buddy! I care a lot about maintaining the boundaries and rules around how you have trained your pet and keeping their routines. I manage an office nearby Monday thru Thursday, flexible Fridays. The morning walks are reliable and I can message you specifics and sort your dog’s and my schedule around it :) Most days, the afternoon walk can be configured into the schedule. We have a larger yard and no pets living in the house. My sisters nearby both have friendly dogs if yours would like some pals. Some days are busier or have a tighter walk schedule for me, but usually just 2 weekdays, which is why this works for me! I love taking dogs to different adventures like the Fells or games in my backyard, or just hanging out and cuddling :)
“I could not speak higher of Maria. She was very flexible, communicative, responsible, reliable and most importantly, Basil (my pup) loved her. With finding a good dog walker being it so hard these days, I Highly suggest hiring Maria!”

“Lisa has been walking our Finn for a little while now and we’re so happy with her services! Great communication, and she sends lots of excellent pics of our pup enjoying his walk. She’s great with Finn and he now gets so excited when he sees her. Will definitely continue to use her services! :)”

About: Hi! I’m a pet lover in my 30s who works from home in higher education, so I have a flexible schedule for walks, drop-ins, and keeping your pets company during the day. I’ve had dogs my entire life and am currently the proud parent of an almost 10-year-old rescue pup. Life with a rescue has taught me a lot about patience, reactivity, fear, and giving dogs the time and space they need to feel comfortable. I understand that not every dog wants to be everyone’s best friend right away, and that’s totally okay! I’m happy to follow their lead and your instructions. I’m also a former cat parent, so I’m very comfortable with cats - whether they want playtime and attention or would prefer that I fill their food bowl and respectfully mind my own business. I’m responsible, dependable, and genuinely love spending time with animals. I’m doing Rover as a side gig while saving for my wedding, and getting to spend my flexible WFH schedule walking dogs and hanging out with pets feels like a pretty great way to do it! I work from home and have a flexible schedule, so daytime walks and drop-ins fit easily into my routine. As a dog parent myself, pet care is already a big part of my day! I offer dog walks and drop-in visits for both dogs and cats. I’ll follow your pet’s usual routine, whether that means a good walk, feeding, playtime, medications, lots of attention, or simply giving them some space. My goal is to keep them safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away!
“Danny has been absolutely wonderful with West. From the very beginning, it was clear how knowledgeable and experienced he is with dogs. He takes the time to understand West's personality, needs, and energy level, and it shows in every interaction. Danny is reliable, professional, and genuinely loves what he does. He has also shared helpful insights and advice that have been incredibly valuable. I highly recommend Danny to anyone looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and caring dog walker.”

“Sasha came in very clutch for us when our dog walker last minute canceled on us!! They were able to take our husky out twice and we couldn’t appreciate it more than we do! Thank you”

About: I strive to establish a real connection with every pet I look after. I've cared for pets with all levels of disabilities and/or medical issues, which can require extra attentiveness or frequent medicine doses. I'm also a relatively active person and love getting extra steps in when we can. I'm a working actor and musician with plenty of time during the day and week! Overnight lodging is great, or just a regular swing thru. Very flexible scheduling wise. I have an anxiety ridden mutt who thrives on routine. We regularly go on walks, spend lots of time outside, and stick to a tight schedule. Treats, love, and extracurriculars always when applicable!
“Johnna, walk our dog for them first time today. Great with her communication, which made everything easy. Sent pictures and provided a detailed account of her visit. Would absolutely have Johnna walk Charlie again anytime.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my deep compassion, patience, and experience with dogs who need extra attention—especially those with anxiety or special routines. I have hands-on experience caring for senior dogs, puppies, and pets who struggle with separation anxiety. My own dog, Sasha, has anxiety, so I understand the importance of gentle care, consistency, and emotional support. I treat every pet like family, and I’m committed to creating a calm, safe, and loving environment while you’re away. Whether your pup needs long walks, slow introductions, or just a cozy lap to nap on—I’ve got you covered! Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I have Mondays and Tuesdays off, which gives me plenty of time for daytime walks and drop-ins. On other days, I’m able to fit in visits between school and work—and I don’t mind doing late-night drop-ins if your pet needs evening attention. Caring for animals is something I truly enjoy, so I’m happy to make it a priority in my schedule. I’m dependable, flexible, and always focused on making pets feel safe and loved while you’re away. I only offer pet care in the client’s home because I believe pets are happiest and most comfortable in their own familiar environment. I follow your pet’s routine closely—whether that’s feeding, walks, playtime, or administering medication. I respect your space, keep things tidy, and make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and cared for while you’re away. My goal is always to provide reliable, stress-free care that gives both you and your pet peace of mind.
About: I’m so excited to start meeting new pups. Although I've never had a dog of my own, I’ve always been surrounded by dogs whether that be family or friends. I love taking dogs on walks and getting to know their personalities. I enjoy giving treats for tricks and love giving all the puppy love. I’m currently in college online so doing this will help a lot with my student loans!! It’s summer so I have lots of free time but even come the fall I’m doing school online which also gives me lots of down time. I live by a park that was just rebuilt and it has an amazing walking trail and a dog park. I am great with handling dogs and love to give treats for tricks!
About: I've loved dogs all my life. I had a dog since I was 12, and as an adult I've done both periodic walks and drop-ins, as well as overnight stays for cats and dogs alike. I know that every pet has their own temperament and needs, and I will be sure to adjust to ensure you and your fur-babies have a safe, happy experience with me. I have a lot of flexibility to be able to schedule whatever pet care you may need! With the exception of special events, I can generally move things around on my end to accomodate your schedule. I have done check-ins and walks throughout the day, as well as staying at a client's home for multiple nights to take care of their pets.
“Sometimes I have to go into the office for a few days at a time and Caitlin is so reliable, I know she will arrive when we discussed and make sure my dog Summer gets a good walk, even in bad weather! Thanks Caitlin :)”

“Loved meeting William! He was so understanding about all the things we try to reinforce with our pup and followed everything we suggested. Pebbles had a lot of fun with him, and he managed her energy really well. He also gave me such detailed updates and photos! Would definitely recommend :)”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life, and caring for animals has always been something I truly love. While I’m not able to have pets of my own right now, I’d love the opportunity to give that same love and attention to your pets! I work from home on a hybrid schedule, which gives me flexibility to provide walks, drop-ins, and plenty of companionship when I’m available. I’m also happy to care for pets on weekends when I’m around. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away — and to give you peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. 🐾 I work from home on a hybrid schedule, which gives me a lot of flexibility to care for your pets throughout the day. On my work-from-home days, I’m able to provide plenty of attention, companionship, and breaks for walks or potty time. I’m also available on weekends when I’m around and happy to work with your pet’s routine and needs. Since I’m currently unable to have pets of my own, I’m excited to use my flexible schedule to give your pets the love, attention, and care they deserve! Unfortunately, I’m not able to have pets in my own home due to not having a yard and living with people who have severe pet allergies. I don’t have any pet allergies myself, though, and I’m more than happy to travel to your home to provide care wherever your pets are most comfortable!
About: My name is Jhonatan (but you can call me Jay) and I would love to take care of your best furrriend. I’m a 31 years old Brazilian folk that works with art so I have plenty of free time on my daily basis. I was raised with 4 dogs in Brazil, but unfortunately don’t own one. I have more than 10 years of experience in dog walking, pet sitting and pet boarding. I’m a makeup artist that has a side job as freelancer for selling makeup products but trying to work with pets more after a year of not doing so. I used to dog walk and pet sit by myself but stopped after some health issues (I’m healed now) and I’m trying to do only on Rover. I’ve signed up a few years back and did only one sitting but deleted the app. I know CPR and First Aid for pets so your best friend would be safe in my hands (if any natural incident ever comes to happen). I have experience with bigger (such as Great Dane) and smaller dogs (chihuahua), with elderly and puppies (as well as how to better train their behavior), with aggressive and non aggressive dogs, I’ve split fights before and also know some how to teach your dog to behave and walk better outside with other dogs. I used to work for a dog trainer and have learned some things that could help them. I’m currently working part time free lance for makeup brands and make my own schedule so I’d have plenty of time to spend with your furrriend. If I’m pet sitting I usually would make my schedule in a way that I’d have time to walk the dog a few hours a day, twice or 3 times a day and sleep with them. If dog walking I’d walk them for 30min, if allowed I’d love to bring them to a leashed hike if nearby. I always try to keep myself calm because from all years working with dogs it shows that they feed off people’s energy, I practice yoga and meditation so that way it helps to keep them calm and relaxed. In your home I’d feed and give them water, have them exercise so they spend their energy and they can have a nice sleep. On walks I give them water breaks if too hot and always watch for their behavior.
“Abigail was great will Bennie. He wasn’t keen on walking when she arrived but she ensured he was able to pee, get some energy out in the back of our house and played ball with him. She was timely and communicative when Bennie was being fussy and adapted quickly to make sure he got the most out of their time together.”

“Lindsey is wonderful. She is reliable, timely, and very thoughtful. Our pup loves her walks with Lindsey and we trust and appreciate how great she is with our dog. We are repeat customers and I would highly recommend her!”

Yingzi was a wonderful help when I needed a dog walker in a pinch. She was very polite, professional, and made sure she understood all my dog's needs! Yangzi clearly loves and understands dogs and I could tell that my dog Katana loved walking with her! She's very thoughtful and I would definitely recommend her to others.

Johnna was such a delight to work with and took great care of our pets! She was prompt and communicative and very professional, and so so sweet to our dog and cat. She managed to convince our slightly-lazy dog Daisy to take good walks even in the heat (Daisy’s nemesis) and made sure that both pets were happy and well-cared for, and I can tell that Daisy loved her!

Alexa was a superstar!! She was always on time and took amazing care of my energetic dog when I hurt my knee. She also brought up my packages which was super helpful. She is super sweet and I will definitely be using her again or referring her to friends in the future! Thanks again Alexa!

Yuting has done such an amazing job with my puppy Macy over the last month. She has consistently been on time to take Macy on her weekly walks and goes above and beyond to make sure she has water after the walks and treats to help ease her anxiety prior to her leaving. She is great with communication; always checking in and confirming times for walks. She is very flexible and often is able to accommodate needs on a short notice. She has been nothing short of amazing and I highly recommend her! (P.S. She's great with puppies!)

I couldn't have asked for a better Rover sitter! From the moment we met, I knew my dog was in great hands. She sent regular updates, adorable photos, and thoughtful messages that gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. Her home was clean and she only takes one dog at a time. When I picked up my dog, he was happy, relaxed, and clearly had an amazing stay. It's obvious she genuinely love animals and treat every pet like their own. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable Rover sitter. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my pup!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
