“Guillermo was great! He watched our reactive dog and shy cat for a long weekend and we were very happy we hired him. We received numerous, detailed updates so we were never worried, and we returned to a clean home and happy, content animals. We will definitely contact Guillermo again!”

“Natalie house sat this weekend for our recently rescued 7 1/2 yr old wheaten. She was both professional and compassionate. We were very pleased with her work and have already booked her for a week later in the year. It is with great confidence and pleasure that we recommend her to you”

“Christine was wonderful! She was very communicative while house sitting our pup and it was nice to see him be comfortable with her in such a short amount of time. We’ll definitely be rebooking when she’s available!”

“Andrew is an amazing dog sitter! He stayed at our home for two weeks while we were on vacation and looked after our 2 dogs. He was amazing, he texted us daily updates with pictures and even found a fenced area to play fetch with my mini aussie as he is high energy. Followed the care instructions for my yorkie who just had surgery. He definitely went above and beyond and I 100% recommend him!”

“Ava was so amazing with our two dogs! Our puppy had significant training requirements and she handled them all with such care and was so great about checking in. Our senior dog isn’t a big fan of eating but she tried really hard several different ways to try to get him to eat. We loved getting all the photo updates about our dudes while we were away!”

“Madeline is a great communicator and easy to schedule with. She was very attentive towards our pets and really cared for them. She’s very flexible with her schedule and was able to accommodate us within a short period of notice.”

“Alice is the absolute best- she went far and above our expectations when she stayed in our apartment with our pitty mix Marshall. She sent pictures from every walk she gave him and from their cuddles on the couch- it really helped put our minds at ease that Marshall was safe, taken care of, and was having fun while we were on vacation. In addition to caring for Marshall, Alice washed, dried, AND folded the dirty laundry we left in the washer. She also completely washed, dried, and folded the towels and bedding she used. She even made the bed with the clean sheets! We didn't expect that from her, but it really eased our return to normal life- not having to wash the bedding and make the bed. She left a handwritten note detailing her weekend with Marshall and how much fun they had together. We will definitely work with Alice again!”

“Nicole was great with our two 10-year-old cattle dogs for their first overnight stay with a new sitter. She was kind, professional, and easy to talk to about all their routines and quirks beforehand, which put us at ease leaving our pups in someone new's care. While we were away, she sent updates at the key points in their schedule, so we always knew they were fed, walked, and settled. Everything about the stay felt smooth and well cared for, and we're already looking forward to booking with her again!”

“Nathan was a fantastic house sitter! He did a great job with our big pit mix and cat. He gave the dog plenty of exercise and sent us plenty of pics while we were out of town! Our dog can also be a little standoffish but Nathan did a great job getting to know him and it wasn’t an issue at all. We came back to a clean house and two very happy boys. Would definitely recommend him to watch your animals and/or house. We’ll definitely have him back next time we’re out of town!”

“As a first-time Rover user, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Tati was wonderful with communication and kept me updated throughout my trip, which really put my mind at ease. I came home to a clean house and happy, well-cared-for fur babies. I really appreciated how responsive and reassuring she was, and I wouldn't hesitate to book with her again! Thanks, Tati!”

About: My girlfriend and I are looking to take care of some good doggos during the weekends. We were proud dog owners during our adolescence until we had to say goodbye to our best friends during college. Through the years, we had experience distributing medicine daily and regularly cleaning/bathing our dogs. We also made sure to brush their coats to prevent unwanted tangling. Outside of regular care, we absolutely love the outdoors and athletic endeavors. If it's outside or inside, having a four-legged companion would only make things better! The bond between the owner and their pet is an amazing connection. We are willing to provide the care your pet deserves. Hopefully, we're lucky enough to be chosen in order to do so! My girlfriend and I currently work full-time (hybrid/remote), and we are away during the weekdays. So, our ideal situation would be taking care of dogs during the weekends. We also have parks near us for outdoor walks and play. We will always be respectful of any preferences and considerations the owner prefers. As long as care information, food supply and any other materials is provided, we will make sure your pet is as comfortable as possible! Additionally, we’re keen to make sure you will be up to date as possible through daily photos and updates.
“Kerri was absolutely wonderful and truly loves dogs. From the daily walks to the constant photo updates, it was so clear how comfortable and happy our pups were with her — lots of cuddles and snuggles in the pictures. Our house was left in perfect condition, exactly how we left it. We felt completely at ease knowing our dogs were in such caring hands and will definitely use her for all future trips. Highly recommend!”

“We recently left our 10 month old puppy with Noelle for a week. She did a fantastic job! Such consistent communication, she clearly had such fun with our dog and made her so happy, and we came home to a spotless home and a very happy puppy! We would hire her again in a heartbeat!”

About: I strive to establish a real connection with every pet I look after. I've cared for pets with all levels of disabilities and/or medical issues, which can require extra attentiveness or frequent medicine doses. I'm also a relatively active person and love getting extra steps in when we can. I'm a working actor and musician with plenty of time during the day and week! Overnight lodging is great, or just a regular swing thru. Very flexible scheduling wise. I have an anxiety ridden mutt who thrives on routine. We regularly go on walks, spend lots of time outside, and stick to a tight schedule. Treats, love, and extracurriculars always when applicable!
“Cynthia did a great job taking care of my elderly cat Simon while I was away. He has some specific diet and medication things, and she made sure he was well taken care of. She communicated every day and I knew he was in good hands!”

“Rachael took great care of our dogs and house. We got frequent updates and pictures, and the dogs seemed happy and well taken care of when we got home. I’d highly recommend booking her for house sitting!”

“Sean was great! He was responsive, respectful of our home and space, and great with our dog, Sebago. He was a good communicator while we were away, sending plenty of pictures and updates. Would book Sean again!”

“Emily was absolutely fantastic!! She took incredible care of my lab Dixie, sending me a pup-date every day letting me know how she was doing :) She also left my place spotless. I will definitely re-book Emily for future dog-sitting!”

“Kristina was great!! We had a sitter cancel last minute and consider ourselves VERY lucky that Kristina was available. She did an excellent job dog & house sitting and sent us detailed updates. We will absolutely book with her again!!”

“Jillian was great! Super attentive and communicative while staying with my cats and tortoise. I’m definitely a high maintenance, nervous owner and I felt very comfortable leaving my pets with her.”

Maria took exceptional care of our dog at our home during a weeklong trip. She followed our instructions carefully and was a very great companion for our dog during our time away. She clearly loves dogs and cared for ours just as we would have. She sent lots of pictures and it was great knowing Lani was in good hands throughout our trip. I would highly recommend Maria to anyone!

Siena was so kind and has such a good energy. She took such good care of my babies while I was gone and sent me pictures every day. She genuinely cares and the kitties seemed really to love her. She also left my house very clean and communicated very clearly throughout my trip.

We had a great experience with Mandy. She house sat and took care of our two dogs and cat for a week. She went above and beyond to care for and ensure our pets stayed on their schedule–she even bought them a few toys and treats. We would definitely recommend her and would work with her again in the future.

Alice was a fantastic sitter. She was communicative, prompt and professional from the start. She asked extremely thoughtful questions and took detailed notes. While watching our pup, Alice sent several detailed updates throughout, all with wonderful photos. We felt our dog was safe, cared for and with someone we could trust. On top of that, she was a wonderful house guest - as everything was in pristine condition when we arrived home to our happy boy. Would highly recommend Alice to anyone!

We had last minute weekend plans and thankfully Olivia was available to watch our dog Willow! Our dog needed medications given to her and some extra love & care and Olivia was super attentive to her and communicative with us. She even helped clean up an unexpected accident which was very much appreciated.

We love having Aashiya take care of the cats. She is professional, respectful, prompt and on and on. I so appreciate that she sends photos of the cats on a daily basis. She spends time playing with them and even gifted us a hairbrush for our particularly hairy cat. 🐱 she is wonderful all around!

We had an excellent experience working with Camille as house/pet sitter while we were out of the country for 9 days. She took wonderful care of both our energetic younger dog and 15 year old dog who needs some extra care to get around, and the house as well. She was prompt, reliable and easy to work with, administering medications, different feeding schedules, and handling each dog’s quirks without issue. We wouldn’t hesitate to work with her in the future!
Kate was wonderful! I felt completely comfortable having her stay overnight at my place with Cheerio. Cheerio instantly loved her and it was clear she was in great hands. Kate was also great about sending updates throughout the stay, which I really appreciated. I’d definitely have her watch Cheerio again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Medford walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Medford maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Medford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
