“Guillermo was excellent! He sat for our senior dog, Cooper, at our place for 4 days and it was a great experience. He was communicative and responsive, he left the house cleaner than when we left, and more importantly he took great care of Cooper!! We would highly recommend.”

“Cynthia did a great job taking care of my elderly cat Simon while I was away. He has some specific diet and medication things, and she made sure he was well taken care of. She communicated every day and I knew he was in good hands!”

“Sebastian was a great dog sitter! He stayed in our house for the weekend and took great care of our dog and home. He was patient with our dog’s quirks and energy level. I would gladly hire Sebastian again!”

About: I grew up with cats and have lived with animals my whole life (cats, fish, hamsters, dogs). I have provided petsitting for cats, reptiles, and dogs. I have petsit across ages, temperaments, sizes, medical needs, and energy levels. From a senior deerhound, to two young whippets, to cats with specialized diets and medication administration. I'm a remote office worker with a flexible schedule who is looking to stay active and save for my first home. I love going for walks, rain or shine! And there's nothing better than curling up on the couch with a furry friend. I work remotely and can be with your furry family all day and provide them with as much supervision and enrichment/exercise as they need to ensure they have fulfilling and safe days. I am certified by the Red Cross in Pet First Aid.
“We had a fantastic experience with Nicole! She was incredibly communicative from start to finish — always quick to respond and kept us updated with regular photos and messages. Nicole was punctual, reliable, and clearly has a natural way with dogs. Our pup instantly warmed up to her, and it was clear they were in great hands the whole time. She went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and we came home to a happy, relaxed dog. It was such a relief knowing our pet was being cared for by someone so friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. We’d absolutely book with Nicole again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and kind sitter”

“Devika was prompt and personable and connected with my dog immediately. She kept me updated on his well-being and was great to work with. I had to unexpectedly find someone to watch my dog while I was out and was very lucky to find her.”

About: I worked at a humane society and worked with many dogs of all sizes and breeds. Helped to socialize them; took them for walks/hikes, went for car rides, got them comfortable being outdoors. I also dog sat for friends and family throughout the years. Very comfortable with giving medications and taking care of special needs dogs (grew up with a dog that required seizure medication and had frequent seizures). As a college student I have a fairly flexible schedule. My weekends are completely free and I have more than a couple hours free during the weekday in the mornings and evenings (as well as some time during the middle of the day if I’m not in class). I grew up in a home where dogs were family members. We were very comfortable with them being indoor and outdoor pets. We would go for hikes, walks/runs (was fairly active to help the dogs release their energy) and would also relax together indoors. Will crate as needed for dog and family comfort or will just hang out on a sofa and read a book for company for the pet. Since I’m used to caring for a high maintenance dog that required special attention, I can clean up accidents and administer medications if needed (with lots of approved treats)
“Andrew stayed with my dog, Odie, for a week. He was responsive and consistent about checking in with pictures of Odie while I was gone. He also left my house spotless. I will definitely be using Andrew again!”

“Traci was super responsive and willing to accommodate our very last minute over night request with our young puppy who, while adorable, is a handful at this age! She was super helpful not only providing the care we needed, but also offering some helpful recommendations for his schedule, toys, etc after spending a night with him which were super valuable to us as new puppy parents. We’d hire Traci again in a heartbeat!”

“We were so reassured having Emily stay in our house with Lola while we were away overnight. She took great care of Lola and we won’t hesitate to call on her again in the future!”

“Sasha was responsible, communicative and enthusiastic, and Rosie and I liked her right away! I would give Sasha the highest of recommendations, and hope to have her take care of Rosie again.”

“100% recommend. Best, best friend ever! Annette was delightful to work with. She was punctual, attentive and organized. She stayed with our pups for full 4 days and she was always in touch and feeding the animals the right medications and meals. On top of that she was organized and clean. Lastly, what we enjoyed the most is that our dogs seemed very happy and relaxed with her. She is a true find and look forward to working with her in the near future.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Arlington is $60
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Arlington
We had a fantastic experience with Christina! She took great care of Benny(80lb pitbull meatball) while we were away and followed every instruction exactly as requested. She kept us updated with thoughtful messages and plenty of great photos, which gave us peace of mind without ever feeling excessive or disruptive. Most importantly, Benny absolutely loved her, and it was clear he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for a. Christina will be our go-to moving forward and I will absolutely recommend her to to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional pet sitter! Christina, thanks for being amazing!

We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Bucky! She was incredibly loving and attentive, and it was obvious from the moment we met her that she genuinely cares about dogs. Throughout the day she kept us updated with lots of photos and messages, which gave us complete peace of mind and made it clear that Bucky was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. She was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. We felt completely confident leaving Bucky in her care, and we would not hesitate to book with her again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, reliable, and thoughtful sitter. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Bucky!

After a long 10 vacation with some twists and turns, Traci was always communicative, accommodating and highly professional, not to mention just a lovely person. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. During our trip, our dog unexpectedly became sick with vomiting and diarrhea, and she remained calm, composed and compassionate, including middle-of-the-night potty breaks and keeping us informed throughout. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup and tremendous peace of mind. We would absolutely trust her again and recommend her without hesitation.

Anna did an amazing job with Heidi! Not only did she maintain Heidi’s weekly schedule with drop off and pick up from doggy daycare and bedtime snuggles but Anna also kept our little pup safe and comfortable during the stressful 4th of July fireworks. Highly recommend Anna to anyone looking for a reliable sitter!

Guillermo was great! He watched our reactive dog and shy cat for a long weekend and we were very happy we hired him. We received numerous, detailed updates so we were never worried, and we returned to a clean home and happy, content animals. We will definitely contact Guillermo again!

Omar provided excellent care and overnight coverage for my cat Dusty. He sent multiple pictures and videos and responded to all my inquiries with patience. From the very first meet-and-greet, Omar thoroughly reviewed my cat's feeding, medical, and behavioral routines. He monitored my home and kept things safe during an oppressive heat wave. I returned home to a relaxed, well-fed, happy cat and tidy home. I highly recommend his service to anyone in need of a reliable, compassionate cat sitter!

Kayla was fantastic! I knew from our meet and greet that our labradoodle would be in great hands! She was patient, great communication and she listened to what our dogs schedule and needs were and followed them which made us feel secure. Our house was also very well taken care of care of. Highly recommend Kayla as a confident and reliable sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Arlington on Rover is $60.9 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 6,637 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Arlington. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Arlington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Arlington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arlington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
