“Guillermo was great! He watched our reactive dog and shy cat for a long weekend and we were very happy we hired him. We received numerous, detailed updates so we were never worried, and we returned to a clean home and happy, content animals. We will definitely contact Guillermo again!”

About: I worked at a humane society and worked with many dogs of all sizes and breeds. Helped to socialize them; took them for walks/hikes, went for car rides, got them comfortable being outdoors. I also dog sat for friends and family throughout the years. Very comfortable with giving medications and taking care of special needs dogs (grew up with a dog that required seizure medication and had frequent seizures). As a college student I have a fairly flexible schedule. My weekends are completely free and I have more than a couple hours free during the weekday in the mornings and evenings (as well as some time during the middle of the day if I’m not in class). I grew up in a home where dogs were family members. We were very comfortable with them being indoor and outdoor pets. We would go for hikes, walks/runs (was fairly active to help the dogs release their energy) and would also relax together indoors. Will crate as needed for dog and family comfort or will just hang out on a sofa and read a book for company for the pet. Since I’m used to caring for a high maintenance dog that required special attention, I can clean up accidents and administer medications if needed (with lots of approved treats)
“Andrew is terrific. He keeps us informed about how things are going. He goes above and beyond, staying to make sure our flight gets back on time, taking garbage out knowing we won't get home till very late etc. Bernie, our dog, was clearly well taken care of as was the house. Andrew has taken care of Bernie many times for us. We know we can count on him”

“Renee is an incredible dog sitter! She’s incredibly reliable, professional, and caring. She takes great care of our pet and provides prompt communications. She’s also come through during some last minute bookings that we really appreciate.”

“Nicole was a lifesaver, our doggy developed some stomach issues right before my planned trip and Nicole was able to take care of her and even help me get her to her vet and start a care plan while I was away. Safe to say that she has my complete trust with my dog and there’s no one I would recommend more!”

“Illeana is a repeat pet sitter for our two dogs and cat. They are well cared for and happy when we get home. Anna is communicative and very respectful of our home. Highly recommended!”

About: Hi I’m Hailey! Growing up my family always had both cats and dogs so I’m very comfortable taking care of pets. I have years of experience with both dog and cat sitting for both short and long term stays. I love to be active and take dogs on walks around the neighborhood and can customize my schedule to fit their needs. I work part time and have a pretty flexible schedule. I can work based around you and your pet’s needs! Available weekdays as well as weekends. I have dog sat for both large and small dogs before and have no issue with tailoring to their needs. I have years of experience pet sitting for long term stays up to a month for dogs, cats, and chickens alike!
“Thanks so much Daniella for taking care of our dog Aspen and our cat Amari. We appreciated the daily updates, pics, and videos to check in with us and your responsiveness was top notch! We look forward to working with you again in the near future and would recommend you without reservations. Thank you again!💜”

“Devika was prompt and personable and connected with my dog immediately. She kept me updated on his well-being and was great to work with. I had to unexpectedly find someone to watch my dog while I was out and was very lucky to find her.”

“Emily was wonderful with our 10mo puppy, giving him attention and providing enrichment throughout the day, taking him on his midday walk and feeding him lunch. We came home to a happy, wriggly, sleepy puppy. Emily also left the sweetest report card and polaroid shot of Kiwi at the end of the day :)”

“Jayden was absolutely wonderful house sitting our two dogs. It was clear that he was super comfortable and competent with them, even our bigger guy, and we could tell they loved and trusted him from the very start. We were so grateful for the clear and easy communication, photos, and thoughtful care he provided. Thank you Jayden!”

“Cynthia did a great job taking care of my elderly cat Simon while I was away. He has some specific diet and medication things, and she made sure he was well taken care of. She communicated every day and I knew he was in good hands!”

“Tanya did a wonderful job taking care of Bernie and also left our house in mint condition. She communicated well and kept us posted on how things were going. We'd highly recommend her to others!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Medford
Amanda was wonderful! She was incredibly patient and took the time to build trust and foster a genuine relationship with Gigi and especially Adso, who was a little shy at first. Her attention to detail and persistence really stood out, especially as she learned their individual personalities and routines. She made sure they had plenty of playtime, interaction, and affection, rather than simply taking care of their basic needs. It gave me such peace of mind knowing they were with someone who truly cared about making them feel comfortable, happy, and loved. I would absolutely recommend her!

Hailey did a wonderful job taking care of Tashmoo while I was away for the weekend. She stayed at my home, took great care of him, and kept me updated with pictures throughout my trip. It was reassuring to know he was in such good hands. Tashmoo was happy and well cared for when I returned. I would definitely recommend Haley and would be happy to have her watch him again! Quinlan was great! He followed the instructions I left about making sure Archie ate (he’s picky about his food) and about walking him on shorter more frequent walks since the temperature was in the 90s. He was a great house guest and was responsive to my messages.

Madeleine cared for Piper for a week while we were away. She communicated with us daily exclusively through the Rover app, providing updates and photos. Piper was eating and going on walks, which usually means that she is comfortable and not super anxious. I would have Madeleine back again.

Jayden was absolutely wonderful house sitting our two dogs. It was clear that he was super comfortable and competent with them, even our bigger guy, and we could tell they loved and trusted him from the very start. We were so grateful for the clear and easy communication, photos, and thoughtful care he provided. Thank you Jayden!

Jhonatan was great with our pup James Bond. He was available for a somewhat last minute booking and even stayed an extra night when our flight was cancelled. Super appreciate his flexibility and kindness and we got so many great daily updates and photos. Would definitely book again!

Nicole was great with our two 10-year-old cattle dogs for their first overnight stay with a new sitter. She was kind, professional, and easy to talk to about all their routines and quirks beforehand, which put us at ease leaving our pups in someone new's care. While we were away, she sent updates at the key points in their schedule, so we always knew they were fed, walked, and settled. Everything about the stay felt smooth and well cared for, and we're already looking forward to booking with her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Medford walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Medford maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Medford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
