“My stranger reactive dog has come SO far with Ryan’s help. He went from growling and lunging from our front porch when he saw Ryan to excitedly greeting him at the door. Every week Ryan has worked patiently with my dog, gradually teaching Bandit to trust him and how to be more brave when confronted with fears and triggers. I can’t stress enough how amazing Ryan is. If I could give him 6 stars I would!”

“Shawn always takes such great care of my boy Westley! She comes up with all sorts of clever games to play with him, which he absolutely loves! She also sends the most beautiful photos in her updates- like seriously, I have a collection of photos from her that I want to get framed, they're that good!”

“Jade went above and beyond with our dog, Brody. He does require a bit of extra care and Jade took it on without skipping a beat, making us feel that it was no issue at all and additionally watering our plants on top of everything. She was able to alleviate so much stress from my week by treating Brody with such attentiveness, being punctual and being an absolutely exceptional communicator. I cannot wait to work with her again.”

“Jacqueline is awesome! So patient with my crazy, energetic pup. Piper absolutely loves when Jacqueline comes for her walks and waits for her to return when she leaves!”

About: I have extensive experience with dogs of all sizes, ages, and of many personalities. I will provide fun, enriching company for your pet, and can assist with all aspects of pet care like food, medication, walks, and sanitation. I have previously owned a reactive dog, and have experience with pets with health issues. Additionally, I have experience with cats, lizards, and fish! Hire me and I will draw your pet free of charge <3 When I am living at home, my life surrounds my dogs. We eat breakfast and dinner at the same time, we go on evening walks. In college, I hope to give myself the space to interact with pets a few times a week, while providing pet care and assistance to anyone who may need it. Within my clients’ homes I make sure to follow all guidelines surrounding where their pet is and isn’t allowed. I do not rush into showing affection, instead letting the pet warm up to my presence in their space, providing them with calm company until they approach me. I always make sure to provide positive reinforcement for good behavior, and work to create a lasting bond with the animals I work with.
“Victoria was great, she was easy to communicate with and very accommodating for my bernese, she came right to where we were staying for a meet and greet to keep her calm.”

“Caitlin is superb (and then some!)! Delilah loves seeing her for walks, and Caitlin is incredibly attentive. She learns her cues, and understands Delilah’s needs like no one else. Could not recommend more!”

“Ashley is absolutely wonderful with my dog Gracie and is very accommodating and flexible. Gracie is quite timid and skittish and Ashley is great with her! Would highly recommend!”

About: I've always loved taking care of dogs! I had my first when I was 9, a beagle. Throughout the years I've done various dog-walking and dog/cat sitting for friends and family, and now I miss seeing all the dogs as I live away from them and they have passed :'( On multiple occasions, I took care of two loving but rambunctious pit bulls for weekends and extended periods of time while my friend was away. Gave them medicines, lots of attention, and invigorating walks. I took care of the house while they were away and sometimes stayed overnight. I have experience with dogs that need to be on a tight leash in certain scenarios, and experience allowing them to just have fun in safe spaces. With well-behaved dogs, I've gone on runs in the forest and been able to have them off-leash. I love having a buddy! I care a lot about maintaining the boundaries and rules around how you have trained your pet and keeping their routines. I manage an office nearby Monday thru Thursday, flexible Fridays. The morning walks are reliable and I can message you specifics and sort your dog’s and my schedule around it :) Most days, the afternoon walk can be configured into the schedule. We have a larger yard and no pets living in the house. My sisters nearby both have friendly dogs if yours would like some pals. Some days are busier or have a tighter walk schedule for me, but usually just 2 weekdays, which is why this works for me! I love taking dogs to different adventures like the Fells or games in my backyard, or just hanging out and cuddling :)
“Our dog can be a bit much with leash reactivity and new changes. We are very pleased with how Kaylor has dealt with Buddy and it seems to be going well. Super grateful for the willingness to work with Buddy!”

About: I love animals, and am hoping to become a vet. I grew up with a two dogs and a cat, as well as fostering many cats throughout my childhood. I also spent last summer working at a doggy daycare, taking the dogs swimming and playing with them. I am currently a student at Tufts University , so I would be able to create a weekly routine that fits with my class schedule I am comfortable doing any tasks or chores related to your pet. I am also comfortable helping with medication or any extra needs for your pet.

Yesika has been the greatest dog walker! She is responsive and communicative and kind. When I dropped Achilles off for an overnight stay, he was sooooo excited to see her. I already had no doubts that she was a good sitter, and that confirmed it for me and made me feel even better about having her care for my boy!

Anneliese was great with Baxter! Very communicative and friendly. She was available without much notice which was super appreciated. You can tell she has a lot of experience with dogs with different energy levels. Would definitely reach out to her for more help in the future.

Leilani is a wonderful dogwalker. When she came for a meet and greet, Junie liked her right away. Leilani listened carefully to all instructions and was warm and friendly. She walked Junie three times in two days, sending pics and updates each time. She seemed to enjoy her time with Junie, and made sure to give Blue some love too while she was here. I will absolutely request Leilani to care for Junie and Blue in the future.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
