“Hannah is definitely the best walker I have ever met. She is so responsive and sweet, always having a safe and happy walking journey with my doggy. I will always go back to her.”

“Nathan was incredible with our dog Penny. He was very attentive to her needs, made sure she got all the belly rubs and snuggles! I could not have asked for a more amazing dog walker.”

About: As someone who has cared for the elderly and people with disabilities, I have found that my gentle demeanor also works with animals as well. Currently, I have no pets of my own (hopefully I will get one by next year), but I am a happy dog aunty to a toy poodle named Ruby who I dog sit frequently. I realized from a young age that animals usually gravitate towards me, and my priority is to always make sure these animals feel safe with me as well. As a dog walker/dog sitter I want animals parents to feel rest assured that their furry babies are in for a safe, fun time. My apartment area is spacious as well, and my neighborhood complex has all the safe space for your pets to roam wild. I also have a pet jungle gym here as well for them to use their excess energy. I work from home as a Data analyst so my hours are very flexible. This give me extra time to keep an eye on all the needs of the dogs I take care of. I also have pee pads as well as a small doggy bed in case you’re furry baby is feeling sleepy. Outside, my complex is quite big, allowing your pet ample space to roam wild. We also have a dog playpen/ jungle gym as well that I’m sure they will love.
“I really appreciate the time and consideration Angela had with Maple! She was mindful of length of the walks during hot days and spent the rest of the time watching Maple. I can tell Maple had a great time with her! Highly recommend!”

“Ailish was incredibly flexible and took such great care of my dog, Josie. I felt completely at ease knowing Josie was in such good hands. Reliable, caring, and easy to work with—I highly recommend her!”

“Lori was great with our King Charles, Molly. We needed coverage for walks for two weeks. Lori is a contentious, dependable dog walker. Molly was excited to see her. I will certainly use her again in the future.”

“Morgan was awesome with our pup, Dutton! He’s a 70 lbs chocolate lab with high energy & he seemed to be very hyper that day! She was great with him & saw him for 2 visits. He had two long walks and were looking forward to having Morgan see him again soon!”

“Devin has been great with my pup from the start. He is dependable, kind, and responsible. My pup took to him immediately, which is always a good sign! I know my pup is well cared for when Devin is walking him, and I appreciate how trustworthy and consistent Devin has been. I’m truly grateful for his help and would highly recommend him to care for your fur baby as well!”

About: I’m a dog owner and comfortable with dropping in to feed, walk, and keep your pet company. I love both dogs and cats, and have cared for a neighbor’s cat as well as being hired to watch a family’s cat during their vacation. I also have some experience with giving medication to pets. I leave for college in early August, but until then I don’t have much taking up my schedule. I’m unemployed besides petsitting and will have a few trips over the summer. I have experience walking, feeding, cleaning, and administering medicine to both dogs and cats. I have little grooming experience, and would prefer sitting for small to medium dogs with a friendly/easygoing temperament.

About: I have helped take care of friends and families dogs/pets for about 5 years now. I have overnight sat for friends and took care of their dogs that required special feeding and medication instructions. I also helped train my own dog with stuff like sit and paw. I am currently working part-time in the hospital as an aide. I will not be working for most of the summer, so I will have plenty of time to check in on dogs or even stay over night at houses to pet sit. I have a fenced in yard and a long, strong lead if needed for dogs that can be escape artists. I also am strong enough to hold bigger dogs that can pull.
“Kristen has been an absolute lifesaver for our 3 dogs that she manages so well. She took the time to do a thorough meet-and-greet to understand their specific needs, and her patience and calm demeanor have made a huge difference. For the first time, I feel completely at ease leaving them. Kristen’s communication is top-notch, and we couldn't be happier with the service."”

About: I have had pets since I was a child including birds, guinea pigs, ferrets, cats and dogs. My condo is too small for a pet so I love taking care of pets for family and friends! I work from home 3 days a week so I am able to pet sit or take care of your pet most days of the week. I love to cuddle with animals so they feel comfortable without their owner. I am also very attentive to bathroom breaks and if your pet has something they are not supposed to have.
“Jamie clearly takes his responsibilities seriously and takes the utmost care of our dog. As first time dog owners, we were nervous to leave our pup in someone else’s care, and how our pup would react to someone else being in the home. Those nerves quickly vanished, and we as well as our puppy enjoy having Jamie come over to walk him and care for him. He is very professional and very caring toward our dog, which is all we could ask for!”

About: I’ve gotten the pleasure to raise two dog from puppies when I was 16! I’ve recently welcomed a new pup into my home! Luka is our 1 year mini Aussie; excited, curious and loves to meet new doggo friends. I recently graduated optometry school and have been traveling, dog sitting and adventuring before starting a full time job! I can provide a darn good snuggle, long walkies and endless belly rubs I have a partially fenced in yard and in my home dogs are welcome on the couch and rug if that’s what they’re allowed to do! I always keep a clean house and would keep your home clean like my own. I’m excited to care for your dogs like their mine!

About: Dog owners and dogs will love the flexibility with my schedule. I love to have fun with the dogs, as I understand they are another family member. I keep them safe and sound. I enjoy long walks, especially during the fall season. When I meet a new dog and their owner, I wait by the door and wait for the dog to come to me. When they come to me I let them sniff my palm and offer them a treat. When I do this it allows the dog to get comfortable around me so we can get ready for our walk. When on the walk with the dog, I go at their pace. Not too fast and not too slow. At the end of the walk when we return, I give the dog a good rub and say goodbye.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Melrose
Yesika has been the greatest dog walker! She is responsive and communicative and kind. When I dropped Achilles off for an overnight stay, he was sooooo excited to see her. I already had no doubts that she was a good sitter, and that confirmed it for me and made me feel even better about having her care for my boy!

Danny has been absolutely wonderful with West. From the very beginning, it was clear how knowledgeable and experienced he is with dogs. He takes the time to understand West's personality, needs, and energy level, and it shows in every interaction. Danny is reliable, professional, and genuinely loves what he does. He has also shared helpful insights and advice that have been incredibly valuable. I highly recommend Danny to anyone looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and caring dog walker.

The walker was punctual, professional, and clearly comfortable handling dogs. Overall, the service was reliable and caring, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog walker.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
