“Angela took great care of Rhys! She was timely, responsible, and communicative. We really appreciated her flexibility with the schedule and will definitely book again!”

“Joshua was great, responsible, proactive, attentive and respectful. We really appreciate him watching Riley on such short notice. Would love to have him watch Riley again in the future. Thank you!”

“Nathan is awesome and a pet sitter that goes above and beyond! He took great care of our 2 dogs and 1 cat. He was super attentive, sent really great photos and notes each visit, took inside a package we weren't expecting, and even did some extra laundry for us after one of our elderly dogs had an accident. We really felt so comfortable knowing someone was taking such high quality care of our animals while also having an eye on house. Highly recommend!”

“Noila took amazing care of my two kitties for two full weeks! She sent daily pictures and videos of them playing, and included any other information about her check ins with them. She made leaving town so much less stressful! Fantastic experience.”

“Katy was great! She made it easy for us to get the keys to her when we didn’t have a Dropbox. She took some great pictures of our kitties and followed our instructions exactly. She even brought up an amazon package for us. She went above and beyond her role and we would gladly book her again. Thank you!!!”

“Page was an AMAZING pet sitter for our two cats. She was so prompt and helpful when we first established service, and even came over once before our trip to get acquainted with our cats and see our supplies. She always texted before she came over, took awesome photos, followed our care instructions exactly, and even went above and beyond! Since we were away for a while, she swept up and wiped down surfaces occasionally to keep our cats comfortable. We will absolutely be booking with her again and wish we had found her sooner! Thank you so much again Page for your stellar work :)”

“We booked Heather last-minute to help fill in some gaps in animal care while we were away, and she was great! Responsive, prompt, flexible with our schedule, and our dogs and cat all loved her. We'd use Heather again in a heartbeat!”

About: I have helped take care of friends and families dogs/pets for about 5 years now. I have overnight sat for friends and took care of their dogs that required special feeding and medication instructions. I also helped train my own dog with stuff like sit and paw. I am currently working part-time in the hospital as an aide. I will not be working for most of the summer, so I will have plenty of time to check in on dogs or even stay over night at houses to pet sit. I have a fenced in yard and a long, strong lead if needed for dogs that can be escape artists. I also am strong enough to hold bigger dogs that can pull.
About: From neighborhood animal care to volunteering at local animal rescues, my passion lies in animal welfare and caregiving! I'm looking to reconnect with a local animal advocacy scene and provide my services to anyone who may need help with their four-legged loved ones. I'm a remote employee, so I'm able to work from anywhere that has WiFi! I just moved to Portsmouth NH, leaving my volunteer position at Salem Animal Rescue League as a Canine Walker. I'm ready to make my services available and get connected to the animal welfare scene in the Portsmouth area! I have reliable (and pet friendly) transportation for anything your pet may need: a walk in the park, a trip to the lake or emergency vet care. I highly encourage pet owners to provide me with the names of their vets and emergency contacts for the duration of the animal's care.
“Yuzhou was great! She was very attentive and sent lots of photos throughout the stay. Luna is usually shy with sitters, but she warmed up to her right away — a rare sign of trust. We also came home to a sweet handwritten card. Truly grateful, and I’d definitely book her again!”

“Kristis is very professional, knowledgeable, easy to work with and with strong communication skills. She is super reliable. Because Kristin is super reliable, we trust her judgment. We highly recommend Kristin and any pet would be so lucky to meet her. We as her client are so happy and impressed with her excellent services and professionalism”

About: I’m a dog owner and comfortable with dropping in to feed, walk, and keep your pet company. I love both dogs and cats, and have cared for a neighbor’s cat as well as being hired to watch a family’s cat during their vacation. I also have some experience with giving medication to pets. I leave for college in early August, but until then I don’t have much taking up my schedule. I’m unemployed besides petsitting and will have a few trips over the summer. I have experience walking, feeding, cleaning, and administering medicine to both dogs and cats. I have little grooming experience, and would prefer sitting for small to medium dogs with a friendly/easygoing temperament.
About: I have always loved animals and have owned and cared for many different pets since I was a young kid. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel loved and happy. I’m also very attentive to each pet’s individual needs and carefully follow any care instructions provided to ensure they receive the best possible care. I pride myself on being compassionate, reliable, detail-oriented, and maintaining a professional and trustworthy relationship with every client. I have a very open schedule! I love animals and spending time with them so I am very flexible and I'm available most every day/night! I care for every pet as if they were my own. I follow the owner’s instructions closely to make sure their routine, feeding schedule, medications, and any special needs are handled exactly as requested. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while also keeping their environment clean and safe. My goal is to provide reliable, attentive care so both the pet and the owner feel comfortable and confident while they’re away.

About: Hi! I recently graduated from UConn with a degree in Animal Science, and I’m currently on the pre-vet track with plans to attend veterinary school. I have a strong background in animal care, including working as a veterinary technician for two summers and spending time working on a barn last year. I’ve also grown up with my own dog and have extensive experience pet sitting and dog walking for neighbors, and friends. I am able to offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and pet sitting. I understand the importance of making sure that pets stay active, happy, and comfortable while their owners are away. Right now, I have a very flexible schedule and am available most days and times, except Sundays. As the summer goes on, I plan to work part-time, but I’ll still have plenty of availability to dedicate quality time and attention to your pets. I truly love working with animals and am very passionate about ensuring that they are safe and comfortable. Pet care fits easily into my weekly routine since I work part-time and have flexible afternoons during the week. I’m able to consistently make time for walks, drop-in visits, and giving pets the attention and care they need I’m very attentive to each pet’s individual needs, whether in my home or a client’s home. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, always have fresh water, and get plenty of time outside, exercise, and play. I also prioritize giving them attention and companionship so they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I understand that every pet is different, especially senior pets who may require extra care or specific routines. I’m happy to follow detailed instructions, including medications, feeding schedules, or any special needs, to make sure your pet stays healthy, and safe.
“Jamie is great with our puppy. She loves playing tug of war and chasing after balls. Jamie happily obliges her and lets us know how she did during each visit. Plus he is super responsive to scheduling requests! Would definitely recommend him!”
About: We grew up with dogs of our own and learned from a young age how much a dog adds to your life! Now being a dog owner I use Rover myself and find it so satisfying to know that my almost 8 year old boy Patric is in good hands when we are away. Such a great service I decided I'd like to board pups myself. I started as a sitter on Rover July, 2018 and it has been so fun and I am learning so much. I live within a short walk to hiking trails in town-owned reservation as well as short ride to Breakheart Reservation. We (my husband and I) visit places like these with our dog Patric (weather and season permitting) several times a week! We love these hikes as much as he does, and my dog gets to do what dogs love; smell different scents, interact with babbling brooks (especially fun!), climb on rocks, enjoy the sounds of chirping birds and the occasional woodpecker, and meet other humans with their pets while walking in a neutral setting. In short, experience nature and socialize at the same time.* This routine works well and sets the tone that the rest of the day our pup (and dog guests) are satisfied and calm. We also do neighborhood walks and people watching during the day while the fenced in backyard is there for outside breaks at anytime. We explore a lot and meet lots of wonderful dogs and their owners. Your dog will be well cared for, with lots of activity and field trips; we would love to share our fun experiences with your pup while you are away! (I fully understand how difficult it is to leave your dog with someone else - I am committed while watching your dog that they experience fun, adventures outside, lots of playing, and loads of love and attention. What we hope for with our own pup when he is with a sitter -nothing less. ) Please note: I typically do not book back to back boarding for pups as I don't get any work done! Along with I enjoy the dogs more when there are breaks in between. If I decline a request that very well may be the reason so don't take it personally. PLEASE NOTE: I am not available during most of November, 2024 to host dogs. Thank you. If you do book with me, please come prepared with a printout of your dogs normal at- home schedule for exercise, meals, potty habits, naps and bedtime routine. I am a helicopter Mom with my own dog as well as the dogs that stay here. They are treated like children and I am careful with their care. *While hiking in the woods, we are aware of wildlife dangers and do these hikes with optimal caution; eyes and ears watching and listening closely.

Heather took such great care of our two cats while we were on vacation for 2 weeks! She made sure they got cuddles, food and play time and she helped with keeping them cool during heat waves. We felt very comforted knowing our boys were so well looked after. Heather is the best!!

We had a wonderful experience with Jolene! She responded to messages quickly, was reliable and responsible, and took such great care of Maggie and Lucy. It was clear she genuinely loves dogs, and they felt comfortable and well cared for with her. We would absolutely trust her to watch Maggie and Lucy again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, dependable, and trustworthy pet sitter!

Blane did a phenomenal job taking care of my cat, Auggie! The level of detail and care that Blane put into Auggie’s Rover cards was awesome—lots of photos, details about what they did together, and info about Auggie’s behavior. Blane was always responsive, showed attention to detail, and got along so well with Auggie despite this sit being their first time meeting each other. I booked Blane as a last minute, fill-in sitter, but I will definitely be rebooking. Highly recommend!

I couldn’t be happier with the care Leone received! Thank you for taking such great care of him, making sure he was fed, and spending time playing with him while we were away. I would highly recommend Madison to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, and I will absolutely use you again in the future!

This was our first time booking a petsitting request with Natalie, and she did an excellent job taking care of our cat! She provided great photos that showed how she performed all the care tasks we asked her to do. Our cat, who is normally skittish around strangers, took a liking to her! We recommend Natalie :)

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
