“Allison did an incredible job giving my Floof loving care and company while I was away. She was highly communicative, sharing photos and thorough visit recaps each visit that put my worried cat dad’s mind at ease. Would 1000% recommend.”

“Heather was amazing to work with! She was a huge help walking our dogs while we were away for four weeks. My dogs loved her and she was so kind, taking such good care of both our active 5 year old Frenchie and our senior Frenchie and sending great pictures and updates along the way. She’s the best! ❤️”

“Courtney did an excellent job caring for my cat. She followed all instructions and provided detailed updates. I especially appreciated her patience and understanding with my cat, as she is typically very scared and anxious around new people. I would definitely book Courtney again and highly recommend!”

“Jayme eased my anxiety as I was worried to leave Toby, my cat, alone for 10 days. Jayme sent me pictures, ensured he was feed, and litterbox was clean! Toby and I are very happy and would definitely re-book Jayme again if available!”

“This was my first time using Rover, so I was nervous, but Chanel was great with communication. She did everything we asked and it seemed like she & Luffy had a great time. Would book again!”

“Emma was very helpful and helped me feel comfortable having to be away from home shortly after Hurley had some medical issues. She was very communicative, able to find ways to get him to take pill that are still new to him, and gave him all the love she could ☺️ thank you!!”

“Kat did a great job taking care of Gunnar. She communicated very promptly and clearly from the first contact; we set up a meet and greet for the next day and then two days later she came and walked him while I was away. She clearly loves dogs and he instantly loved her back. I knew he was in good hands. I wouldn't hesitate to book her again and I recommend her highly to anyone looking for pet care.”

“Abbey is AWESOME! She's our new go to sitter, we feel very lucky to have found her. To start she's very genuine so you trust her immediately - not only did us humans feel that way but our 'I only like mommy' cat warmed up to Abbey from the moment she walked in the door. She handled the medication and feedings with no problem and clearly was looking forward to having some hang time with our guys. And she's a great photographer - we got a mess of fun photos each day. We just hope she sticks around the area!”

“Bryn did a great job! She was wonderfully calm and patient when we did our meet and greet, letting my dog calm down and then come to her before trying to interact, quickly gaining my dog's trust. She was able to take my slightly excitable old pooch out for a pee break and guide her past other dogs in the complex without incident. She checked the water bowl and gave me good feedback. Communications have been prompt and thorough.”

About: I am a corporate gal with a work from home job who loves pets of all types and sizes. I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, horses, and chickens and have spent time volunteering at animal shelters and caring for others’ pets since I was very young. I work from home, so my schedule is very adaptable. I take meetings or draft documents all day, with plenty of breaks in between for play time, potty time, or exercise for your pets. Since I am home with your pet while I work, they will be very well supervised. I have experience working and living with escape artists and know how to handle sneaky little friends!
“Amber has only spent two days with my pup and I can already tell they are going to be friends! He’s happy and lively when I come home so I know he is getting a lot out of her visits!”

About: I've been pet-obsessed my entire life! I grew up around large dogs, multiple cats, hamsters, fish, and even a snake, and I've been caring for others' pets since high school. Dogs and cats have always been a huge part of my life. - Most recently, I've been helping care for a senior rescue dog named Toby who has severe anxiety and some health issues. When we first met, he was too nervous to let me near him. By the end of our first day together, he was happily curled up beside me on the couch. I've also administered his medications and followed his special potty-break routine, including driving him to quieter neighborhoods where he feels more comfortable. - I also have my own 70-lb rescue dog, Lola, who I've spent the past year training through positive reinforcement, enrichment, and plenty of daily exercise. We've worked on recall, loose-leash walking, impulse control, and staying focused around distractions. - I genuinely love getting to know animals as individuals and paying attention to the little things that help them feel safe, comfortable, and happy. As a dog mom myself, I know how much the details matter. My goal is to give your pet thoughtful, reliable care while keeping you in the loop every step of the way. ❤️ My daytime schedule is currently very flexible, and I'm intentionally keeping it open so I can make pet care a priority. I'm generally available for walks and drop-in visits most times of most days. - I’m happy to work with your pet's usual routine whenever possible, whether that means a midday walk, a quick check-in, or regular walks throughout the week. I also understand that schedules change, so feel free to reach out even if you need something outside of my usual availability - We can always discuss it! I'm a big believer that excellent pet care means actually paying attention. - I'll follow your instructions carefully, keep an eye on your pet's behavior and surroundings, and adjust to their individual personality rather than expecting every dog to behave the same way. I'm especially comfortable taking things slowly with nervous or anxious pets, and I use positive reinforcement whenever appropriate. - For walks, I'm especially mindful of leash security, traffic, other dogs, and your pet's individual triggers. I won't put your dog into situations that make them uncomfortable just to complete a particular route. - You'll also never have to wonder how your pet's visit went. I'll send updates and let you know about anything unusual I notice. If another dog lunges at your dog, your pet seems stressed by something, or if there's a change in your dog's stool, I'll tell you. - Your home gets the same level of respect: I'll follow your instructions, keep things tidy, and make sure everything is secure before I leave.
“Jamie is great with our puppy. She loves playing tug of war and chasing after balls. Jamie happily obliges her and lets us know how she did during each visit. Plus he is super responsive to scheduling requests! Would definitely recommend him!”
About: I grew up with dogs and animals around me so would love to continue being around them. Life is boring without them, in our world. I work full time and go to school during the week would love to help people out during the weekend and maybe even weekdays if there is that relationship. I currently am not offering pet sitting at my house because my Roomate is allergic but I can come to the dogs home and care for them.

“Lauren responded quickly, handled an unexpected situation with grace and professionalism, *and* coaxed a shy kitty to play laser tag! I am grateful for the care she gave my cat and the peace of mind she gave me.”

Liz is an amazing sitter! She looked after my cat while I was on vacation and did an excellent job! My cat usually takes a long while to feel comfortable with new people, but within only a couple visits she quickly opened up to Liz! Liz was very attentive in following care instructions. She provided detailed updates and photos for each visit. Highly recommend her services!

Matilde took wonderful care of our two cats! We booked her a bit last minute before a long weekend away and she was able to make time for a visit to meet us and the cats before we booked her. Our cats immediately took to her and her sweet presence. While away, she sent extremely thorough report cards that gave us reassurance and a few giggles. She also uploaded lots of photos. She had no problems following the instructions that we left for her, and it was apparent that our boys were well taken care of upon our return. We will certainly be working with Matilde again for any future trips away.

Isabel is caring, communicative, responsible, and dedicated. She took care of our two cats for almost a week during our honeymoon and made the experience so much more relaxing because we knew our kitties were in great hands. We looked forward to the pictures everyday and it was clear they loved her. Thank you again Isabel!

Again, Hoawen and Yi provided excellent care for my cats, and accommodated last minute changes on my end. They did a great job with my geriatric cat Wynston who has special requirements. Lots of pictures which helped me to relax knowing they are in good hands. Thank you!!

Annaliese was such a great sitter to work with! She was very attentive to all of our animals and extremely communicative with us. She took such great care of our animals when we were gone and was patient with our shy/nervous cat and took the time to adapt and learn how to make our cats experience with the sitter visits better over the 3 days that Annaliese sat for us. We really appreciated her calm nature and willingness to get to know our pets and their needs. We will absolutely be reaching out again for future pet sitting needs!

Danny was great! He looked after our two cats while we were on a hiking trip out of town; once we returned, it was clear both had been well taken care of! Danny was very communicative throughout the duration of their care and went above and beyond to look after our property while we were gone. If you book with Danny, you'll be in good hands!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
