The Canine GuruAllston-Brighton, Allston, MA

Welcome to the Premier Dog boarding service in New England!

Looking for something special for your pup? Want them to have a vacation while you're away? No longer do you have to worry about students or part time sitters "watching" your pet, wondering if they've been left alone for long, or if they're having a good time. Our VIP service includes pickup, dropoff, full time supervision from the best in the business, and more! We have 7 acres of property, including a fenced yard area, a large shallow pond, hiking trails, and more, all in a secluded pup paradise out in the woods! No dangerous streets, cars, or gang-leash intersection crossings! We are experienced in dealing with groups of dogs, the company they love most. At my house, play time is all the time (except for nap time, which is well cherished). Let your dog to have a blast while you do; let them board with the Canine Guru!

I've got years of experience in dog training. Your lovely pet will have the time of their life. We are absolutely reliable and able to handle crises with the ease that only comes with repeatedly dealing with crisis. Through the entirety of my childhood, dog sitting was a mainstay in my life. I have also owned and raised my own dogs, including an 80 lb lab and my current 10 lb chihuahua/schnauzer mix. I know dogs as well as anyone, how they think, when they're upset, and what makes them happy, when they're being bothered or when they want to be a bother. You will not be disappointed with giving your pup the opportunity to vacation with us, and, big or small, I am sure your pup will be tired and happy when you pick them up!

We tend to board a few dogs at a time. We are very familiar with socializing, and they enjoy playing with each other more than anything. They are monitored very closely the entire duration of the stay to ensure everyone is safe and having a good time. My house is set up so that my 10 lb chihuahua/schnauzer mix has plenty of areas of her own, so don't fear for smaller pups (besides, the bigger guys are usually scared of them)! Rules and boundaries for each other are established with support from me, and are respected for the duration of the stay. Dogs are very capable of getting along in groups and tend to suffer less of an impact from owners absence, including separation anxiety, loss of appetite, and other similar issues, so they actually have a good time while you're gone instead of just missing you for days!

* We enjoy long stays! If you need someone to watch your pup for weeks or months, let them live with us; I'm used to having pups for long periods of time, and happy to have them! We had several clients dogs through times of housing issues, medical problems, family emergencies, and more. The pups have a great time and you'll never be left hanging, as we are available through every holiday year round! Let them become part of the family!

*** FREE pick up and drop off's will generally occur between 6-9pm in the greater Boston area. Therefore, if you are leaving for your trip before 6pm, you must prepare to book for the night before. ***

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! I'm always available and generally respond within a few minutes. There are no bad questions!

Pups > PeopleQuincy, MA

My name is Molly. I am an avid dog lover and have two wonderful dogs with my husband Ethan. Our pups are both hound/terrier mutts named Misa and Lyla. Ethan’s full time job is staying at home and taking care of the pups, and I am a Boston Public Schools teacher who is home in the afternoon. We know how important it is to have peace of mind while away from your pets therefore they will never be unsupervised while in our care. Ethan and I, and even our two dogs, all work together to ensure each animal gets all the love and attention they deserve while boarding with us!

I have always been happier when I'm surrounded by animals. I grew up with a dog and an escape artist hamster. Ethan grew up with dogs, cats, horses, chickens, and bunnies. In college I worked in a grooming salon and that was when I realized how much I loved taking care of animals.

Ethan and I have done an extensive amount of dog training for both of our pups since they are very fearful and anxious around new humans. We have worked on obedience, agility, nosework, and plain old tricks. All of the skills we have learned during their training has taught us so much about keeping dogs safe and happy, both physically and mentally.

We believe that a tired pup is always happier and better behaved. Therefore walks and structured socialization are always incorporated into any stay (as long as that is okay with your pup)! We spend a lot of time outdoors in our fenced in back yard. We recently changed our yard from grass to pet safe artificial turf, it makes less muddy paws for us and a better smelling pup for you! We also live near lots of dog friendly parks and beaches. Your pup will be sure to leave us extremely happy and exhausted!

*Gratuities are greatly appreciated! They help us provide even more amentities for all of our furry visitors!*

LOVE is a four- legged word...Everett, MA

My family owns and operates a dog kennel. I have been working there part time for the past 12 years. I am not afraid of dogs, I love them! Please consider me to care for your pet, I am fun loving, caring, a huge animal lover, and your pet won't be disappointed with my company. I love long walks with dogs and enjoy their company. Pets truly make a difference in my life, and I will care for your dogs the same as I do for my own. Dog walking is a great way to exercise which benefits myself as well as the animal. I look forward to caring for your animals and showing them the same love that you and your family do. I find myself caring for more and more cats during drop in visits and really enjoy spending time with them also. Thank you for taking the time to review my profile. I look forward to working with you!!

TLC for your pets while you're awayEast Boston, east boston, MA

I am the ultimate animal lover! I rescued my first pup from Brazil when I was just 16, and since then have rescued three more pups and one kitten. Currently I have two pittie mixes. Bailey and Moose who are both 2.5 years old. They are both loveable marshmallows and love meeting new pups and people.

I have experience carrying for pups and cats of all ages and sizes (even having to bottle feed one of my first!). I have also cared for bunnies, chinchillas, hamsters, and turtles :). My dream is to eventually make my passion for taking care of animals into my full time job. But for now, Rover is a great start!

I am extremely reliable, and will care for your pets as if they were my own. You will never have to worry about whether you are leaving your furbaby in good hands.

I look forward to meeting you and your wonderful pets! Feel free to reach out to me with any questions :)

Let's have a playdate! /Home FTEast Boston, East Boston, MA

We’re Loba’s Petcare, your friendly neighborhood pet sitters. Our full time job is helping you care for your pup while you take care of business. We like to establish a genuine connection with our clients and owners in order to match your at home training and care. We run weekday doggy daycare and walks along with daily boarding and drop-ins (including cats and rabbits).

A bit of background: I was born and raised in the Boston area and studied pre-vet at MCPHS University for about 3 years while working as a receptionist and shadowing at a local animal hospital for the later 2 years. While working at the vet I was introduced to the world of pet sitting and fell in love immediately. I got Violet(CEO) then began working for Rover when she turned 6 months and completed her vaccines. A few months later, my fiance joined and is currently lead walker.

We've been on Rover for 2 years and helped with everything from consistent/vacation services, to co-parenting and even parenting for longer stays. We have worked with different tempered dogs, from very-friendly to fear aggressive and always stick to your diet/feeding schedule. Basic training is enforced but we also stick to your at home training and can work on socialization with other dogs and people.

On a daily basis, your dog will be joining Violet’s general schedule, we typically go out 3-4 times, we have a fenced- in yard for roaming and outdoor play time (Larger, higher energy, or anxious dogs will get extra walks if it helps them get comfortable or they need extra exercise to calm down). We also have lots of toys to keep pups busy and recently bought some canine enrichment puzzles for the higher energy pups and we’re having fun watching them learn.

We have supported a few frequent travelers, along with traveling entrepreneurs. We’re located minutes away from the airport for easy drop-off and offer flexible pick-up/drop-off times, however we need strong communication for flexible scheduling or consistent scheduling so that we can plan our daily lives in advance. While we are home, just about 24/7, we will occasionally go out when boarding dogs are ok to be left home.

Full-time dog lover/walkerMalden, MA

I am insured through Pet Sitters Associates.

I live in Malden and provide service to Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, and Saugus (My service area is within 4 miles) and commute using my own vehicle.

I have had five dogs personally, and I have watched many of my friends' and my mother's friends' dogs, beginning from a very young age. I have one ten-year old Schipperke that I have had since she was 8 weeks old, and two who are watching down on me from heaven (Bubbles' brother who passed on August 7th 2018 and my first dog). I had a Tuxedo cat named Gus who passed away on April 14th, 2018 whom I had for 12 years. He was a rescue so his real age is unknown.

I love all dogs, big or small. I don't have favorites because they are all the greatest gift life can give us.

I have experience working with Dogs and Cats who have special needs, dogs who are, or become, aggressive in certain circumstances (i.e around cats, small children, other dogs), dogs who are leash reactive, and administering oral medication and injections.

My first dog, an old rescue dog, developed diabetes about a year after we found him, and shortly after became blind. He required insulin twice daily and a lot of attention due to incontinence and his blindness. My boy that I recently lost, Bubba, had diabetes for about 5 years and also went blind. His sister was also recently diagnosed with diabetes at age 9. He received all the love in the world and more from my family and I. He followed me all over the house and knew the words "love" and "attention" as well as many other words.

To conclude, anything involving animals or helping people will make me happy, so here I am, trying to help out.

I PROMISE to give your animal(s) tons of love!!!

****Key pick up and drop off: The first time you book with me, there is no fee.

For repeat clients, after the first booking- there is a $15 charge for pick up and a $15 charge for drop off. You will see this on your stay summary as an add on charge. This is to cover the cost of gas and time.

Love to teach old dogs new tricksSomerville, MA

I am a full time student and I currently have two dogs of my own, a pug mix and a dachshund. They enjoy meeting new friends and showing them a little backyard hockey. I love to teach them new tricks and play fetch in the backyard. Yard is fenced in and we are a minute away from a community path that stretches for miles. There is also a fenced-in dog park behind the house. I have many years experience caring for other people's dogs as well as my own dogs. I also have experience with senior dogs, puppies, high energy dogs and large dog breeds. The fluffier the better. :) At first I was looking for a way to stay busy during the summer, but I have fallen in love with all the fluffy pups I meet. My own dogs have also really enjoyed the company of some new friends. If there is one thing I have learned over the years, it's that every dog is different in their own way, quirks and all, and I have learned to adapt quickly to each of their needs and treat them like one of my own.

Student dog trainer and pet loverLexington, MA

I am still taking on clients during the COVID 19 pandemic. Please feel free to ask what special precautions are being taken by me during this time to keep my clients safe and prevent the spread of this scary virus. Stay safe everyone!

Hi there!

My name is Anna S! I am a long time animal lover and carer. I have been doing dog walking for over a year and have worked with dogs & cats off all shapes and sizes. I am currently halfway through a 18 month dog training course that includes dog CPR and first aid. My long term dream is training service dogs for the disabled.I share my home with my mum, two cats and two dogs. We are all very friendly and enjoy the company of other animals.

I have loved working with animals from a young age and it’s the only thing I can ever see myself doing. I love dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes and grow quite a strong bond with the animals in my care.

My two dogs are very friendly, I have a senior yellow lab and a young border collie puppy who is in service dog training. My puppy absolutely loves sharing his home with new friends and my cats have been used to pets coming in and out from a young age.

I currently run doggy daycare Tuesday - Thursday. I am available on some Mondays and Fridays as well as weekends so feel free to send a request for any day! I cut off daycare at 6 dogs (including my two) and I am home all day for the pups. Daycare pups will not be left alone at any time. I ask that dogs are fit enough for long walks as we circulate at least one conservation land/dog park a day. For daycare I prefer to take dogs that are ok to be off leash but it is not a requirement and is something that I work up to no matter how comfortable the dog is off leash with his or her owner.

For dog boarding services I welcome dogs of all ages and sizes. I am home most of the time and dogs who are boarding in my home will be supervised when together and not left alone for more than 4 hours at a time. After being on rover for a while I have learned a lot and have updated a list of requirements for dogs entering our home.

- I do not accept un neutered males over 8 months

- I require a meet and greet with new clients

- If your dog is sick, please contact me and I will help you find a house sitter.

- I will accept no more than 1 - 2 dogs for boarding at a time.

- No outside toys as I have unfortunately had dogs resource guarding

- Dogs may not exhibit any signs of aggression in any form and will be separated for the duration of the stay if aggression arises.

- Dogs will be returned to owner or an emergency contact if a bite (to a dog or human) draws blood.

- At least one emergency contact is required.

- Pets must be up to date with shots and flea and tick treatments

- Pick up and drop off times are from 6:30am - 8:30pm, we all need our sleep!

- I cannot accommodate to dogs that have a high prey drive as we love our cats!

- Please don't ask for references from previous clients, it is unprofessional for me to ask past clients for this as many have left testimonials to read! I can provide you a personal reference if that is something that makes you feel better about leaving your pet in my care :)

I promise your dog will be treated with only love and kindness! Perhaps they will even enjoy their vacation more than you! I will provide frequent updates and pictures of your dog during their stay and keep you updated on your pet's condition at all times! I look forward to working with you and your four legged family member!
