“Haowen was amazing! I was really nervous about leaving my dog with a new person, but I had no reason to worry. They took lots of photos and sent me several updates daily. My dog did have a little accident when she first got there (which she never does 🤦🏼♀️), but Haowen was so understanding about it. I would definitely use this rover again!! Cleo came home super tired, so I’m guessing she had a fun weekend lol”

“Todd was awesome! Very communicative and attentive, and clearly seemed to provide a great environment for Beau to stay. He came home clearly taken care of, calm, and happy.”

“This was a return visit for us and we were just as happy as we were the first time. So nice to work with, so good with our pup, and love the pictures and videos!”

“Vanessa and her partner took great care of my little Mochi for a week and half. They went above and beyond what i would expect from any dog sitter. They made sure to exercise Mochi multiple times a day. They also taught my little one new tricks! Truly amazing. I had also left Mochi with a set of new treats I was hoping she would enjoy. Unbeknownst to all of us, Mochi ended up getting some diarrhea from those treats. Luckily, Vanessa was able to weed out the culprit very quickly, allowing Mochi to regain her appetite after discarding the treats. Vanessa made sure to send me plenty pictures and videos of my little one. Mochi felt right at home with them. I can't stress enough what a blessing it has been to have Vanessa take care of my little one in my absence. :D”

“Linda took amazing care of our girl Olive while I was away for work. She is a very experienced dog sitter and asked all the right questions during our meet and greet. She was flexible with pick up and drop off and communicative through the week. Would definitely use her again!”

“Martha is the best! She takes amazing care of my dog and keeps me up to date with how he is doing throughout his visit. Our plane was delayed and Martha was very gracious and allowed us to pick him up later than expected. I highly recommend Martha as a sitter for your pup.”

“First time boarding with Maryah. She took excellent care of our 2 dogs and was very accommodating when we had to extend the boarding due to a family emergency. Would highly recommend and board with again! Thank you Maryah!”

“John did an amazing job watching my dog LD! He took care of her for 9 nights 10 days while we were on vacation. He provided daily updates and I never worried or wondered what she was up to. My dog has separation anxiety and blues and John dealt with it by adjusting to what she was comfortable with regarding feeding schedule and going outside. He is a very trustworthy dog sitter. Thank you again John!”

“Could not recommend Steven enough!! Sooty was well looked after during the Christmas period and she had a great time playing with Milo! Would definitely use again! Thanks again!”

“Michiko and Clifford are great. This is the second time my dog stayed with them and they took great care of him both times. I look forward to more stays in the future. Thank you!”

“She took such great care of Remi and we felt so at ease, even though it was the first time we’ve had our pup stay with someone else. We loved the updates and photos and will definitely be using Gienna again!”

“We’re so happy we found Carol to take care of our Maisie. She clearly had an amazing time while we were away with new dog pals! Carol took such great care of her and we’ll absolutely be boarding Maisie with her again!”

“Rachel was awesome. She watched our 8 year old rescue for a week while we were away. She’s a good pup but can be finicky away from home. Rachel was attentive to our instructions and consistently checked in with us. I would highly recommend Rachel!”
“Zelun was so good with our dog. We will definitely be using zelun in the future. He sent lots of photos and had great communication. He also brought Iggy on many adventures each day like the park and nice walks!”
“Thank you for being such wonderful hosts. I think Nala feels like your family is a second home for her! And if she was going to have a secret second family, I couldn't ask for a better one. ❤️☺️”

“Natasha and Jonathan were great. Regular updates with photos, my dog Petra clearly had a great time and was happy and excited to spend time with each of them before we left.”

“Patti was so great! She took such good care of Gus, I will 100% use her as a sitter again. You can tell she’s a real dog person and cares about the dogs she’s watching. She communicated with photos and updates daily. And of course we appreciate the hikes! Thanks Patti!”

I had a great experience. They took really good care of Tiger and I felt comfortable leaving her. She was well looked after the whole time and I did not have to worry. Everything went smoothly and was handled the way I hoped. I would recommend them, and I will definitely use the service again whenever I need a cat sitter.

Parashar B. and his wife are the best! They took great care of Rocky for 5 days and sent me tons of updates, videos and photos each and every day! Incredibly easy to work with and great communication! Rocky had an incident during his stay there and they reacted and acted not only professionally but further more as Rocky was part of their family! I totally trust them and I would definitely book Parashar B. again!

She was a wonderful sitter for my dog over three days. My dog really liked her, and she took extra care to help him feel comfortable and less anxious while I was away. She was also very flexible, accommodating, and easy to communicate with throughout the stay. I would happily book with her again and highly recommend her to other dog owners!
Metehan and Aya took great care of Fig and Pesto for over a week while we were away. We got picture and video updates regularly and they asked questions when they wanted clarification on anything. They were very accommodating and their apartment has lots of great places for the cats to hide, explore, and lounge, while being very clean. They were great hosts and very welcoming. We would recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
