“Katheryn was absolutely amazing with her care of our two greyhounds. She was very communicative and attentive to their needs. I highly recommend her and her husband and will trust her with our pets any time! Thank you!”

“Akhil and his wife were great, accommodating for our 12-yr-old girl (Maddie). Communication was easy and Akhil sent lots of photos to document her day. Thank you for taking her at slightly late notice!”

“Outstanding! We felt completely at ease from the moment we met Zwany. She's someone both pets and people feel totally comfortable around. She and Leandro are detail-oriented, thorough, communicative, responsive, and kind- everything and more you'd want people looking after your pets to be. They go above and beyond- I would highly recommend them to others and we would definitely bring our dog back.”

“Chanel was an amazing host for our senior Shih Tsu, Kody. She made Kody feel right at home. She’s a natural caregiver, but also followed all the instructions and care tips we provided (morning meds, feeding, walks, etc.). Chanel was super communicative and made sure that we were updated during Kody’s stay. What a relief for us! (Thank you, Chanel. We’ll be back).”

“Yang was so great with our dog! We got daily updates with pictures and videos. She was also so wonderful to us, our flight was canceled and rescheduled for 2 days later. Luckily we were able to get out the following night but Yang was so accommodating and kind while we were in a state of worry. Lucky will be back in a few weeks for a second stay!”

“Rachel was great! It was Harley’s first time staying with a new sitter and he can be unpredictable, but Rachel was reassuring and positive about watching Harley and that helped ease my anxiety! She was communicative, sent pictures and did a great job with giving Harley his meds that he is sometimes fussy about. Very happy to have a new reliable dog sitter to add to my rotation!”

“Paul is just the best. He is always the first person whose availability we check when we are traveling. All three of our dogs have loved going to Paul's for a staycation while we are out of town. We get frequent updates throughout their stay and the pups come back to us happy and healthy. You can tell how much Paul cares about animals and how intentional he is in making sure their every need is met. I cannot recommend highly enough! Would give 6 stars if it were possible.”

“Kathy was so accommodating and responsive! And she sent pictures of Frankie all day long to keep us posted. It was Frankie’s first experience in a house with cats so we were a bit worried, but everything worked out great and all the animals lived in harmony. We will definitely book again!”

“JJ and Youfei did an amazing job taking care of my dog for 4 days and paid extra attention since my dog was not feeling well. JJ kept me updated with how my dog was doing and took extra walks and play time. They really treated my dog as their own. I would highly recommend them as sitters!”

“Mia and Taowei were phenomenal! They were available for a last minute spontaneous weekend trip and my pup felt right at home with them. Mia sent plenty of pictures and updates throughout the day which made me feel very reassured AND she even gave my picky eater some chicken when she noticed he wasn't eating his kibble. I highly recommend them and will definitely be rebooking with them 😊”

“Lyn is incredibly experienced with seemingly all ages of dogs and was fantastic about keeping us updated on how Elly was doing. I will undoubtedly get in contact with Lyn again in the future.”

“We love Emily!!! Our dog was so comfortable at her home. Emily treated him like family. Her home is cozy, comfy and safe. She took him on long nature walks. Will definitely use her services again. Highly recommend!”

“Will definitely board with Nola and Damian again! From the meet and greet to picking our dog up, they were very easy to communicate with and took great care of Bori.”

“Andy did a great job caring for Wally! He was very communicative and sent lots of updates. Wally had lots of walks, playtime, and time spent relaxing—and came back home a very happy pup! I highly recommend Andy!”

“I would highly recommend Julie. She watched my golden retriever for a weekend while I was out of town. She send frequent updates and photos which I loved. Julie clearly loves dogs very much and that is evident in how well she takes care of them.”

“Chi took absolutely amazing care of my fur baby. She took him on walks, to the dog park and played with him in her home. Winston is still a puppy so he has a lot of energy. Chi kept him entertained by playing with him and throwing his favorite toy around so he could fetch it. If you need an awesome, attentive caregiver Chi is your person.”

“We left our dog Wyle with John for 4 days while we went to California for a wedding. We had never been that far away from Wyle and had never left him for that long. We felt completely at peace knowing John was taking care of Wyle. We got regular updates and pictures and we could tell he was being well taken care of and was having a lot of fun! We will definitely have Wyle stay with John again in the future if needed. Thanks John for taking such good care of our boy!”

Shriya was absolutely amazing. She watched my cat, Milo, for a week. She sent so many photos/videos and played with him everyday. Her and her husband were absolutely wonderful. When my flight home unexpectedly got cancelled, she was able to watch him an extra day. I couldn’t recommend her enough and will be using her again in the future.

Courtney was great! My girl, Tula, is a big time daddy's girl. She was nervous at first, being without me and in a new place. On the second day, Tula got startled and barked at the neighbor and wouldn't stop. Courtney contacted me to ask how I deal with those kinds of things... The truth is I don't know! I'm a seat-of-my-pants kind of dog parent— I don't always know what I'm doing! I think my advice was something along the lines of "be confident and friendly," which I realized probably wasn't a huge help. At any rate, Courtney figured it out. Within a day Tula was able to relax, meet dogs around the neighborhood, and generally enjoy herself. I never heard about that neighbor again, which I took to mean that Tula didn't feel threatened by her surroundings. That's a testament to how safe she felt with Courtney. Courtney was very attentive to my desires and parenting techniques/methods and she asked lots of questions at our first meeting. She made sure Tula didn't sleep on furniture when I requested, at my request let Tula to say "hi" to other dogs and people even when she seemed anxious, etc., etc. I got lots of pictures and communication throughout the week to let me know that my sweet Tutu was safe and happy. My feeling is that if my dog is happy, I'm happy. Courtney did great and I'd definitely use her again in the future.

Yesika was wonderful with our 7 year old Havanese mix. We were visiting Boston from Virginia and needed care for three days, and she responded right away. Our dog felt comfortable in her home with the other small dogs, and she sent photos every day showing him relaxed and happy. He doesn’t like being alone, so the busy, friendly environment was perfect for him. He came back to us healthy, calm, and clearly well cared for. We highly recommend Yesika.

Our dog Waffle came back very happy after his stay with Ashlee! She responded promptly after a pretty short-notice dogsitting request, quickly arranged a meet & great, and was courteous & professional as she asked questions about his care. After our meet & greet, I felt very at ease & confident that Waffle would be in good hands. She was even able to do pick-up and drop-off, which really helped. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Ashlee!

Jennifer is phenomenal!! I got so many adorable pupdates throughout the day, from how our pup was feeling, to photos of him smelling some pretty flowers (really!! it was the cutest!), to videos of him playing fetch. I love seeing that he’s having a great time, and it’s absolutely a doggie vacation when he’s at Jennifer’s. Highly highly recommend!

Mallory was a perfect sitter for our sweet, anxious Murphy. Mallory was very prompt and accommodating at drop off and pick up, and she checked in with us 2x/day while away, just as she said. Murphy seemed to settle in really well, which for a first time with a new sitter is impressive. Highly recommend.

Michael and his family were great! He provided updates all throughout the day. He really got to truly understand Ziggy, his needs, his quirks in such a short amount of time. He also followed his schedule to a tee! I felt super comfortable with him watching Ziggy and would definitely recommend.

John is an incredible dog sitter. Ahead of Luisa's stay, he asked us all the right questions - can she go up/down the stairs, what is the best way to pick her up, etc. That alone was so reassuring to us given that our dog is a senior and dachshunds are prone to back issues. We received frequent updates and photos throughout the week, so we were never left wondering how she was doing. We could tell by the photos that within a day or so she was completely comfortable and up to her usual antics. Having to find a sitter is one of the harder parts of traveling and I am so relieved to have found John. He is intentional about meeting your dog precisely where they are at and takes every step possible to ensure their safety and comfort. We'll be sure to book him again the next time we are out of town.

Liz and Rodrigo, and their kids, were great with our dog Draven! He had such a good time with them in their home, and they were very accommodating of drop off and pick up times. They even found fun ways to keep him cool during the heat wave and sent cute photo check ins. I’ve already rebooked them for my next trip. Would highly recommend!

We had a great experience with Angella! She sent regular photo updates and our pups seemed happy and comfortable during their stay. When we picked them up she had even washed all of the bowls and items we had sent with them, and sent us home with extra treats which was such a nice surprise! Thank you so much, Angella!

Fernanda was awesome!! She accommodated our last minute booking and took great care of our dog Tamsin. Even though Tamsin can be pretty anxious, from the videos and pictures Fernanda regularly sent us it was clear that Tamsin was comfortable under Fernanda’s care. Would definitely recommend.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
