“Rachel took care of Theo for two consecutive weekends when I needed a sitter. She was responsive and pick up/drop off was very easy. Her neighborhood seems good for dogs, with a park very close by. Thank you Rachel!”

“Thank you so much, Michiko and Cliff, for taking such incredible care of our Suki while we were away. Your love, patience, understanding, and daily updates made all the difference and gave us complete peace of mind. We are truly grateful for everything you did, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 🙏🐾”

“Charlie had a great stay with Christina! I was nervous leaving Charlie and Christina sent photos throughout the stay so I could see what she was up to. Charlie had lots of walkies and snuggles and enjoyed her visit.”

“JJ & Youfei are wonderful hosts!! Our dog Aria had a great 2-week stay at their place. They took excellent care of her, trained her to pull less while walking, tolerated her accident and chewing, got her new toys, and took her out for a weekend excursion. It was the best stayover Aria ever had! She also played a lot with their dog Nano with whom she has found a great friend. I received pictures every day and felt very assured that Aria was having a great time. I couldn't ask for better hosts!”

“Jo and Adam did an incredible job taking care of our dog. They were great about communicating and sending plenty of pictures while they watched our puppy. We absolutely plan to use Jo and Adam again in the future.”

“Lori, kept our dog for the second time, for a whole week, he had a great time, and she kept us updated with pictures every day. We look forward to having kodah board with Lori for our next trip.”

“Elliot was an excellent dog sitter! He made sure Martha felt right at home and avoided other dogs as she can be reactive. We loved the daily updates and pictures. We’d definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone.”

“Kathy was so accommodating and responsive! And she sent pictures of Frankie all day long to keep us posted. It was Frankie’s first experience in a house with cats so we were a bit worried, but everything worked out great and all the animals lived in harmony. We will definitely book again!”

“Melodi is amazing! 2nd time we leave Ron with her and he could not have had a better time. She does not only take care of him amazingly well but also keeps us updated and sends a ton of pictures, which we appreciate! Melodi is definitely our go-to person whenever we need to leave Ron do to travel or work!”

★★★★★ Maia was wonderful with Chester and incredibly accommodating when my plans changed unexpectedly. She communicated clearly, kept me updated, and was calm and attentive with him throughout his stay. Chester can be shy in a new environment and needs to remain securely leashed outdoors, and Maia handled all of that thoughtfully and responsibly. She was also very flexible with pickup timing, which helped me tremendously during a stressful move. I would absolutely trust her with Chester again and highly recommend her.

McKenzie was a lifesaver, offering to take my dog at the last minute the day before after I had a last minute cancellation with another sitter! She did a great job taking care of him and sent adorable pictures of my dog with hers! He came back home so happy! Thank you so much again!!!

Mee is the best sitter!! She has watched Arlo several times over the past year and always takes great care of him, making sure that he is safe but also so well loved. We are so sad to be moving out of the area as Mee is truly the gold standard for dog sitters. Thank you so much!!

Mia was great with communication and took wonderful care of Winnie (Winnie is sweet and low energy, but she is a senior dog so needs different care than a younger dog). Lots of great pictures and updates put my mind at ease. I’d be happy to book with Mia & Taowei again

Mallory is so awesome to work with. She provides frequent and detailed updates with pictures of her adventures with Guinness. Guinness had to take medication while in Mallory’s care, and she had no issues taking on this extra responsibility at the last minute. She sent Guinness home with detailed time stamps of when he received his medicine. Mallory goes above and beyond every time. I am confident Guinness is in the best care whenever he stays with Mallory, and he even cries when it’s time to go home.

Kristen was great . I felt at ease knowing my pup would be well loved during his stay . Her home is so dog friendly and well equipped . My dog was cleaner coming home than when I dropped him off , lol! He was exercised a lot and came home nice and calm and hungry ! ( picked him up at dinner time) . You can clearly see Kristen is an animal lover . She also has her own pets , so my pup was never bored or lonely ! Highly recommend Kristen , prices very reasonable.

Lisette is absolutely amazing! She takes such great care of my dog, Chewy, and I always have complete peace of mind when he’s with her. She sends regular updates and pictures, which I really appreciate, and Chewy is always so excited to see her and stay at her house. It’s obvious how much she cares about the dogs she watches. She’s also incredibly reliable and is almost always available and willing to accommodate our schedule. I couldn’t recommend Lisette more highly to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and dependable dog sitter!

Fantastic boarding for our 3 year old border collie beans, Monali was proactive and constantly sent updates and photos, ensured to take her out for long walks and for play dates at the fells. Would totally recommend her and will be going back to Monali for any future dog sitting needs :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
