“Alanis took such good care of my baby boy, Leo! She sent me updates throughout the day, and Leo looked so clean and happy and in shape when I picked him up. Without a doubt, I will always reach out to Alanis whenever I need help with Leo from now on!”

“Emily watched our 12 year old chihuahua dachshund mix for a week and it went very well. We’ve never used Rover before and when we messaged Emily to see how it was going she was very responsive and even included pics of our dog! Highly recommend”
About: I'm an experienced dog-sitter and equestrian who's able to care for dogs of all ages, sizes, and medical needs. I work from home and am able to provide specified care for your pup while you're away, including: frequent walks, hikes in local conservation areas, and the administration of medications. I supervise dogs closely, can provide basic veterinary care, and live near an emergency veterinary office, just in case. I have my own dog in the home. When your dog is with me, they'll be cared for like my own with plenty of exercise, socialization, and love. I work remotely, so my schedule is flexible. I currently walk and feed my own dog at 7:00am, noonish, 5:00pm, and 9:30pm. I can provide numerous walks for your dog each day during the week, and will take them local "adventures" on the weekends to local parks, Middlesex Fells Reservation, etc. My own dog is friendly and playful, and will keep your pet company.

About: I have a dog of my own, so I know the deal. Walking my dog and hanging out with her is the best part of my day, and I would love for your dog to join. Weekends are my focus and I’m free for shenanigans and long walks! I have my own dog so 3-4walks on the weekend is our normal. I would consider weekdays, but we would have to talk because I work full time on site M-F, so during the week they would have a 20-30min morning walk and 1-2 afternoon walks. I have a well mannered dog friendly dog at home and I would care for your pet like I would mine…which means a lot of attention. Dogs would have to be able to do 3 flights of stairs or be pick-up-able

“Lyn is the best. Thoughtful, considerate, and loves our furry baby. Our few months living in Cambridge wouldn’t have been the same without Lyn watching our little Rosie. ?♥️”

“Terrific host for Olive, our Pembroke Welsh Corgi, over the Christmas holiday. Kept everything o schedule, excellent walks (They live on a quiet, dead end street, ideal for dog walking). Very communicative...numerous video, photos several times a day. Will definitely use again.”

“Mia ands Taowei watched our dog for six days. They were so kind, attentive and diligent in caring for our sensitive pup. We received regular pictures and updates making our time away all the more enjoyable knowing she was being well loved while we were gone. They will be our first choice for dog sitters going forward and we would happily recommend them to others!”

“Marissa was great with our kiddo/pup Sunny. I know my pup had a great time playing around with Marissa's pup as well. She kept us informed with daily messages and pictures. Would book with Marissa again in a heart beat!”

“Charlie had a great stay with Christina! I was nervous leaving Charlie and Christina sent photos throughout the stay so I could see what she was up to. Charlie had lots of walkies and snuggles and enjoyed her visit.”

“Lynne took such great care of Napoleon. Napoleon is a senior dog with diabetes and cushings disease and Lynne had never given insulin shots to a dog before but took it on without fail! Napoleon came home super happy and healthy. We are so thankful to have found Lynne to care for our little old man while we went away for the week.”

“Shuhua is such an amazing dog sitter. She treats my dog with such care and love, send me tons of pictures and updates, that I feel completely stress free when I’m traveling. My dog is in great hands!!! Maybe better hands than mine! :)”

“Emily was wonderful with our little schnoodle Theo! We had forgotten to book a sitter when heading out of town for the weekend and Emily was very welcoming and flexible with scheduling the last minute booking. She took great care of Theo and was very accommodating of our unpredictable timing driving back through traffic ti get home to Boston. I would definitely recommend her and book with her again in the future!”

“This hasn’t been the first time Paul has watched our pup. Every time, we know our dog is in good hands - Paul goes above and beyond and is a great communicator. This time around we got stuck and delayed coming back from our trip because of the blizzard, and Paul was incredibly kind, understanding, and flexible in working with us to make sure our dog was taken care of while we were away.”

“Janette and her family were so welcoming and loving with my dog, Ridley. We got lots of updates and photos of her enjoying her stay, and felt completely at ease leaving her in their care.”
“Tyler and Meichen were awesome with Milo! They kept sending us pictures, took him for multiple walks and it was clear he was super happy and having a great time. They really took great care of him, and we felt so at ease knowing he was in good hands. I’d totally recommend them to anyone looking for dog sitters—they’re the best!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Arlington
Maddy was amazing with our two dogs. She was easy to communicate with and sent lots of updates and pictures. You can tell she is infatuated with dogs and gives them so much love and attention. She also easily dealt with the medications for our older dog and the needs of our young puppy and we felt great leaving the two of them with her for more than three weeks. We will definitely be back!
Victoria was a great caretaker for our dog, Murray. She was thoughtful when handling his reactivity with other dogs/animals and willing to work around his behavioral challenges, communicative with regular updates throughout his stay and leading up to his week-long visit, and flexible with pick up and drop off times. We will definitely book with her again!

After our initial meet-and-greet, I knew Mia and Taowei would take wonderful care of my mini goldendoodle. They asked all the right questions regarding his special diet, medications, and daily routine, which put my mind at ease. The daily updates and photos they sent while I was away gave me total peace of mind throughout my vacation. He came home happy, healthy, and clean. I am so grateful for their excellent care of my dog. Highly recommend!

Andrew was the absolute best with our stubborn yet still timid bulldog Ellie! With the need to find a patient and experienced overnight dog sitter for a 3 night family trip, Andrew felt like an angel in disguise sent (via Rover) to help :) Communications were prompt, initial visit was full of helpful convo and ultimate drop off and pick up was a breeze. During vacation pics/videos thoughtfully sent by Andrew helped ease our worry (as this was our first time ever travelling without Ellie). We are so grateful to have found a caretaker match for Ellie and we look forward to working with Andrew again soon. Highly recommend ❤️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
